Valentines Day wishes ?

Indeed Happy Valentine's. I had a birthday a couple of days ago so the house is full of flowers. I have three very good friends deep in bereavement (2 are widows and 1 divorced) and I would like them to have a much happier year than last year.

Oh, it has to be health for all my family nana that would always be my first wish.
On a more shallow note, DH has gone to Sainsburys to stock up, so am hoping he will notice the big signs/hearts/flowers there ( but won't hold my breath!)

Me : it's Valentine's Day tomorrow.

Him: you're not expecting anything are you?

That would be a no then

Over our evening meal last night DH asked 'we are putting last years cards up aren't we?'
I said 'yes we can'
He replied 'oh good if your sure , I've still got time to nip up the shop'.

I succumbed to the "Valentine Meal for Two" deals at the following supermarkets: Waitrose, M&S and Morrisons - big savings x 3 and enough food in the house for at least a week. On top of that, one of the young mums that lives near me has a pop-up catering business that cooks delicious home made Indian meals every Friday, I can walk there and pick up my order. She only advertises on a local FB group and does a limited number of orders. She also offered a Valentine's special, so tonight at 6 p.m. delivered to my door, will be a starter (onion bhajis and samosas), main meal (Butter Chicken with Pilau Rice) and dessert (Strawberries dipped in Chocolate) for two all for the princely sum of £30.

I have made a secret wish

To answer the question, I would wish for a lovely day & go out for a walk looking at signs of spring with DH.

We don't usually do anything different on Valentine's Day: I have never been able to forget an experience at school in the NE when a beautifully wrapped box was left on my desk at morning registration. I opened it & was mortified to find the heart of a cabbage nestling in tissue paper.

My friends were thrilled - I thought it was a wind-up & promptly put the whole lot in the bin. I was then told about the poem, & I have no memory of most of it with the exception of the line "I give the leaves to other girls , but give the heart to you". As a 14 year old southerner I was expecting something a little more "romantic"
