Welcome to new members

Start a thread of your own under any heading that seems to suit the poem Masterpiece. I look forward to reading it.

Hi fellow grandparents I am new to this whole grandparent site and forum thing and was wondering is there anywhere where I can post up a poem on this site for other grandparents to read to express my feelings about grandparenthood and the issues I am currently having. As it is a bit to long to add to this forum page.

Thank you shysal
I've been on mn and I'm an official ninja thread killer <or I just get ignored>

Hello wombat22. Enjoy lurking around, hope you soon feel like joining in. If you add a comment and it kills the thread, don't worry, it happens to us all and is not personal!

Hello everyone.
I'm not exactly a newbie as I've been a member for a few years and very rarely (if ever posted) but I haven't been around for a while.
I intend to lurk around the threads

Welcome Masterpiece . It sounds as if Gransnet is just what you need. I don't do other social media either, but this is easy once you get into it. You will find plenty in common with other members, so do join in, especially if you have time to waste spare.

Welcome to everyone who has joined since I last posted. I agree with Lona. If a 'Welcome' thread encourages lurkers, we should have had one ages ago. I might even have introduced myself.

I have 2 grandchildren oldest 8 years old and was born when I was in my late 30's but unfortunately I have never met him and my youngest grandchild is 2 years old. I have never joined up with a grandparent site before and still a bit unsure, as I have never bothered with social media before. I do not know any other grandparents to talk too and I am a single mum with grown up children who have left home, the youngest in the last year so feeling surplus to requirements and having a difficult time as a grandparent at the moment so I feel as though it is maybe time to reach out for some discussion.

I haven't looked at this thread for a few days. Wow, lots of new members! Welcome to you all from me in Tynedale. Dip in and out as I do, and enjoy the chat! . Have a few on me.

Come on in, NannyDee, good to meet you. I echo the above words of Falconbird.

Welcome new members. Grans net is the best. It's made me cry, made me laugh and helped me during the bad times. for you all.

Hello, I'm another lurker. . Have decided to jump in and join you. I'm a nanny to 3 wonderful young people. 2 are almost grown up and our youngest is 8. Looking forward to joining in all the chat

Welcome all newbies!
I don't know why GNHQ didn't think about pinning a welcome thread to the top of the list before now, it's a great idea.

Welcome to you both, Agatha and Shadow. I hope you enjoy GN.

Your most welcome Shadow not everyone on GN has GC

Hello everyone, I'm not a Gran (never will be, as I can't have children) but I'm old enough to be one just. I promise I won't give grandparenting advice though.

Welcome AgathaBiscuit
cheers !

Hello everyone, I've just joined . I'm a Nanna

Welcome, amandav53! Now that you have broken the ice, I look forward to your future contributions.
I am Nanny to my GCs, or Nan to the older ones. To my girls my mum was Nanny Cat and MIL was Nanny Pig after the animals they owned!

Thanks jinglebellsfrocks, I'm sure are you are right--it's crazy, plucking up courage to make your first post--in the 'real' world I would have no problem expressing an opinion-- in fact it's usually a problem shutting me up!!

Hello Amanda. Nice to hear from one of the read-it-only folks. I am convinced there are thousands out there.

Hi, another new one, although have read your posts with interest for some time.
I am Ouma to my grandson, my Mother is universally known as Narni, SIL-Mor-Mor--I did not want to be a granny or nanny

Welcome grannylyn. Unless you announced that you were new we probably wouldn't notice for all the reasons stated above!!

I think, in the early days, we didn't announce ourselves but snuck in and hoped none noticed - well I did!

Welcome to those who have already posted on this thread and to all those who do so in the future.

Welcome Fran and grannylyn! I hope you will enjoy Gransnet. Beware, it can be addictive!
