WOOT - Here it is, our very own shed ( Thanks GSHQ), real posh one too, no more old doors etc. it may be small on the outside but, inside, WOW, it's a tardis, plenty of room for everyone. However it's a bit bare atm, contributions to make it homely greatly appreciated. BUT remember it's Granddads' shed, no chintz please.
I'm just having a look round and I see there are some interesting plants over there in the corner behind that old coat that is hung on the wall. Long spiky serrated leaves - looks like someone is growing some seedlings for potting on. What's the fluorescent light for? Hmmmm....!
One of my earliest Gardeners World memories was that old more mature guy...what was his name? Wore a sports jacket to garden in?
Anyway. Geranium cuttings. He said the trick is to take the cutting and let the cut end dry off for 24 hours before striking it. I've always done that, and they take more often than not.
I popped into the shed tonight just to see if everything is ok and what do I find ... flapjack bits all over the floor !!!!!!!! I've had a guick sweep up but its not very warm in here tonight , we need some heating in here and oh whats this geranium cuttings, must take care of them I love the smell of geraniums takes me back to when I was a little girl, dad used to grow them , happy days !!!!!
Back from Cubs. Manic as usual, but they keep coming back so I guess they like it. Thank you for keeping a chair for me [sits down wearily]. So kind of you to think of that, glam. Cheers all .
I'm a newie to the shed, but love it already! I'm bringing my geranium cuttings to sit quietly in a cool corner by the window just for the smell - and no watering with wine and fizzy - they need to rest.
Notsogrand I think that Pompa must be watching that we are looking after his shed and he will pop up soon if we start to make a mess in here all his planting out is to be done soon so he will be back soon I think,I remember when DS1 had shingles it took him about 4 months to recover and to get back to some sort of normality. We will just keep things ticking over for him, just remember to leave a chair handy for when bagitha gets back to-night she will need to relax and down a or two.
Thank you for getting the kettle on. I have to go and do Cubs now but will need a and possibly a when I get back. You can leave me some cobwebs to clear up too, but I might put that off till tomorrow. Please don't eat all this new batch of flapjack that I'm leaving in the corner. As if you would!
Pompa's sure to be back soon....this shed will need sorting out before spring and the new growing season. I've added a bottle of Pear & Pineapple wine to the Prosecco. A splash of each together may work!
I've got a bottle of Prosecco left from Christmas if you'd like to open it? Here's a tray of odd wine glasses that I was going to take to Oxfam - these'll do. Just shift those old newspapers off that stool and I'll leave them there.
How nice to be back in here, need a few cobwebs removing, but I,ll just put the kettle on for a , then I'll get started. Pompa ,are you out there, there's a welcome in the shed, maybe someone will bring
