Recommendations please for thorn- and nettle-proof gauntlets – if possible vegan

For protection agains nettle sting I wear any gloves that provide
hand and wrist covering.
For protection against thorns I use “rigger style” gloves which are regularly stocked by places like “B & Q” and “ Screwfix” etc.

The conservation volunteers source their gloves from the Tuff shop, among other places and try to use eco friendly products.

The nettles must be really young as they toughen with age and only use the tops to about a four inches .
Blanch in boiling water to remove the sting
Drain .
In fact wring them out to remove excess moisture .
They are nice fried in butter with finely chopped spring onions or can be added to soups or in pasta sauces .

ESMAY. I make nettle tea but was unimpressed as a veg. Any recipes that you can recommend. They really have been big this year

By vegan I mean not made from animal products - in this context, probably leather or other animal skin.

I’ve got some welding gauntlets, as recommended to me by an elderly gardener friend, they aren’t leather and they will keep anything out. The only problem is that the fingers are heavily padded, so they are great for pulling stuff out with your hands and using shears or secateurs, but not for anything finer than that.

By vegan do you mean plastic?

Certainly not vegan , but the only successful gardening gloves I've had success with are an old pair of leather gauntlets .
I wear them to remove brambles .
I encourage nettles in my garden ,because they are so delicious when young and tender .
And good for you !

Deer skin is absolutely the best but as a vegan you won’t want those so it will have to be something synthetic. You could try Hexamor Thornamex gardening and landscaping gloves from Safetygloves.co.uk but cheap they aren’t.
