I went in blind with mine as I only put it in last year and had no idea how to prune it, so, like Beechnut I cut it back fairly hard to give it some shape and hoped for the best. It has flowered really well, so I did something right for a change! I have the RHS book of pruning and training but find it very comfusing, so I veer toward the “shut your eyes and go for it” school of pruning
