June '25 Limerick (July '21 & July'23 continued)

Autumn is here in its glory
The changing leaves tell its story
With colors that change

Autumn is here in its glory
The changing leaves tell its story
Turn russet and gold

Autumn is here in its glory
The changing leaves tell its story
Turn russet and gold
And getting quite cold

Autumn is here in its glory
The changing leaves tell its story
Turn russet and gold
And getting quite cold
And I’m on the sofa, snoring

Find this stage of life quite boring

Find this stage of life quite boring
I often nod off and am snoring

Find this stage of life quite boring
I often nod off and am snoring
Still in my jimjams

Find this stage of life quite boring
I often nod off and am snoring
Still in my jimjams
Shorties with white lambs

Find this stage of life quite boring
I often nod off and am snoring
Still in my jimjams
Shorties with white lambs
I count them, then I start snoring.

They say we need eight hours of sleep

They say we need eight hours of sleep
But I count millions of sheep

They say we need eight hours of sleep
But I count millions of sheep
Last night there were ten

They say we need eight hours of sleep
But I count millions of sheep
Last night there were ten
And a big fat hen

They say we need eight hours of sleep
But I count millions of sheep
Last night there were ten
And a big fat hen
And they all fell down in a heap

Like Jack and Jill, who went up a hill

Like Jack and Jill, who went up a hill
Jack swallowed a dynamite pill

Like Jack and Jill, who went up a hill
Jack swallowed a dynamite pill
He exploded just now

Like Jack and Jill, who went up a hill
Jack swallowed a dynamite pill
He exploded just now
He just went Kerpow!

Like Jack and Jill, who went up a hill
Jack swallowed a dynamite pill
He exploded just now
He just went Kerpow!
The results are sitting there, still.

I prefer sleep with quiet and peace

I prefer sleep with quiet and peace
I'm lovely and warm under my fleece

I prefer sleep with quiet and peace
I'm lovely and warm under my fleece
In bed by midnight

I prefer sleep with quiet and peace
I'm lovely and warm under my fleece
In bed by midnight
Creamed face, what a sight,

I prefer to sleep with quiet and peace
I'm lovely and warm under my fleece
In bed by midnight
Creamed face, what a sight
At last daily troubles now cease

I dream and all stress melts away

I dream and all stress melts away
No stress about a rise in pay

I dream and all stress melts away
No stress about a rise in pay
Though I wouldn't say no

I dream and all stress melts away
No stress about a rise in pay
Though I wouldn't say no
To a big bonus though

I dream and all stress melts away
No stress about a rise in pay
Though I wouldn't say no
To a big bonus though
I'd spend it in less than a day

Oh drat, there goes my alarm
