If you could have a couture handbag (or other accessory) which would you choose?

I would go with classic Hermes. The bags and scarves) never go out of style and hold their value.

I think I’d go for a Dior tote bag, something simple without too many logos. At over £2k I don’t think I’ll be buying one

Have you had to change your plans today because of the snow?

We have no snow here in SW Wales although it is bitterly cold.

Do you was your car or take it to a drive through .?

I take mine to the local supermarket drive-through. They used to have a valeting service which was good but has closed now.

Have your plans changed because of snow? There is thick snow here so unable to get the car out.

No snow at all here so my plans have not changed.

Are you planning anything for the coronation weekend? Street parties/watch on TV/avoid?

I will probably catch some of it but on tv I am not sitting about watching it. No street parties here.

I'm planning to deliberately not plan anything because I prefer to just sit and watch it on my own. I don't know of any street parties here.

Is there anyone else as anti-social as I am ? Apart from my family I don't seem to want to see anyone else at all lately.

I was considered to be anti-social when I was younger as I was very shy and easily cowed by louder family members, yet as I've aged and gained much life experience I feel that I've 'learned to fly' metaphorically speaking and can cope much better in social situations, even starting conversations with complete strangers - something which I couldn't have done before.

Have any others become much better at anything with the passing of the years?

Because I was so shy with men when I was young I came over as very indifferent. It was a good job my DH was persistent or I may never have
married. I can speak easily with anyone now.

Snap AGAA4 . I loved someone very much when I was young, but could never have told him. But like yours my DH was tenacious.
My mother was very critical of us, which I now realised contributed to my shyness. How was your mother?

My mother never said a good word about me and treated my sister like a princess. Our relationship was never good and we becams estranged over the years. You reap what you sew.

Did you ever have a passionate holiday romance when you were younger?

I fell in love with a Moroccan (age 22) but of course it fizzled out once I returned.

No I’ve never had a holiday romance. I do know someone who did and ended up marrying the person.

Did you ever go on a blind date?

Sort of. I was paired off with someone when on a night out with my friend. After seeing him a few times I found out he was married so that was the end of that.

How did you meet your husband/partner?

I was working as a Clerical Assistant and he worked in the postal sorting office upstairs. He used to come into the offices to collect the outgoing mail. He winked at me one day, I winked back, and he dropped all the post. That was my chance to help pick it up and chat him up. I was 18, he was 19, in 1978. We've been married for almost 43 years now

Do you go the hairdresser's regularly? (I hate it but have to have it trimmed every few months)

I have my hair trimmed every 6/8 weeks. It’s thick and naturally curly and needs taming by a daily wash and blow dry.

I would love to have a go at cutting hair, especially if it was to go from long to short.
Is there anything you would like to have a go at?

I've always wanted to take part in a car rally. At home or abroad.

I always wanted to be the queen in the school carnival but it was not to be. The ones picked were always the popular sporty kids and I was a swat. Also my mother would not have been able to afford/could not be botherd to make the costume.

Do you ever do your own DIY? I still own a hammer drill. Used to love the feel of drilling into bricks.

DH and I built a large gazebo in the garden last year, but I am mainly the’gofor’. We do all our indoor decorating ourselves and I am painter in chief.

Used to do my own decorating but may get someone else to do it as I have hip problems now. I did use a tile cutter successfully once to my surprise.

Are you looking forward to better weather? We have had heavy snow, gales and now it's pouring down with rain.

Yes really looking forward to spring and summer now. It started off ok here today but is now raining and miserable. I do love the changing seasons though.

Spring and summer . I absolutely hate being cold or even chilly. I love going out when we don’t have to worry about gathering up coats or cardigans and waterproofs.

I bought some yogurts today and was amazed to see the price had gone up 30 a pot in the last week or so.
What item have you seen rocket in price lately ?

I was surprised to see Ryvitas are now £1.60 a pack and a tin of Heinz soup £1.50!!?? A large Haddock at our local chippy is now £9.50 (not including chips)

Have you stopped buying or cut down on buying anything because of price increases?

The one thing I have cut down on, is petrol. Whereas, I never thought twice about jumping into the car and going down to Tesco or wherever, I now plan my journey, and cram as many jobs in one trip,- groceries, Doctor, church, pharmacy, visiting family, friends etc.

I don’t think that I’m cutting back on anything, but I’m definitely comparing prices more and hunting out bargains.
My price hike tale is my cat’s favourite treats - Dreamies.
They’ve gone from £3.75 for the biggest size tub, to £5.50!
