Only the problem of wearing something inside out. My Nan said it was bad luck to change it if it was wrong way out. For years I was stuck with wearing something that way all day. Now I risk the misfortune.

Were fireworks noises near you shorter last night because of the rain? Here they had finished by 9pm.

I was once wearing a full skirt in an airport abroad and came out of the loo with part of it tucked down my knickers. A woman kindly warned me before I got very far.

Oh yes.Every Sunday morning, dipped them in sugar water to stiffen them. Hoops too, though I once went to a dance and the hoop unwound itself and curled around my feet. So very embarrassing when you are fifteen.

I contemplated suicide after some bad experiences when I was young and daft which I would never tell my mother about as I knew she would worry - though she probably worried anyway.

I went on holiday with my friend's family and we dyed our hair blonde. My mum was angry when I got home and even angrier when my dad said it suited me.

I got a big tax rebate (1960s) and spent it all on a new wardrobe. I didnt tell my mother as I knew she would want some "towards my keep". I hid the new clothes in my locker at work and filtered them into my wardrobe gradually. I told her I bought them cheap in a dress agency.

My mom and I were really, really close so I had a lot of rebelling to do to establish myself as an individual.
I had a tattoo on a school trip to Paris when I was 14.
It was not a popular decision! It is hidden away on my hip, so I wasn’t entirely stupid.
The school made me tell her, they arranged for the school counsellor to be there when I told her.
I think that she was secretly relieved, I think she might have thought that I was going to announce that I was pregnant

Yes, but secretly as my mother thought it was common. Sadly I was 25 and married .

I did in my 20s when I began to buy antique jewellery. My mother thought that was common too despite the fact that the queen had pierced ears.

In my birthplace (Liverpool) it was sort of mixed in with Penny for the Guy and we used the money we collected for a fireworks display.

No. My neighbours dog goes crazy on bonfire night so I hope the fireworks don't go on too long.
