Reading a book about industrialised food has made me wonder about the contents of my food cupboard

Despite having more important things to do this week I decided to paint the water butt that stands outside my kitchen door. It's now a lovely sage green instead of bright green with grey scratches. And the bit on the down pipe has been sprayed black like the down pipe. Don't know why I didn't do it years ago instead of just thinking how tatty it looked.

New photos needed on the 1000 posts thread. Also, it's a while since anyone added a few lines to the New and humorous story thread.

It is pouring with rain here, much needed, although I did have to get my washing in very quickly

I put the long screws in a safe place ready to fix the large mirror back onto the sideboard when the decorating was finished. I can't remember that safe place and DD, SiL and his DB came over specially to do it for me today but couldn't.

We need to get the new gazebo up. We’ve been putting this off for a month now. I wish we had an instruction sheet to follow, rather than a YouTube video that doesn’t mention how to fit the roof.

While out delivering magazines this morning I was suddenly struck by how beautiful nature is. There was so much birdsong, flowers everywhere, trees outlined against the blue sky, and a gentle breeze.

I watched the Magdalen College Choir online celebration of May Morning. A 500+ year tradition. Pre recorded due to Covid. Very uplifting.

I went for a pub lunch with friends the other day everything on offer was pre frozen fried rubbish. What ever happened to a simple ploughman’s lunch or a tasty soup with a wedge of crusty bread.

Now that people have leant to wash their hands properly perhaps they could now learn how to indicate ?

Our hall has been newly painted (by Mr R) and someone is coming this morning to see about new flooring. Wood on the hall floor and carpet for the stairs and landing. What we have down now is really scruffy - we should have done this ages ago! No excuse

The jigsaw’s taking forever. And I can already see that there are two pieces of sky missing, even though I went the extra mile this time and counted all 1000 before I started.
