I’m an avid fan of Iceland who delivery great and don’t charge if the order is over £40. They are excellent.

Iceland say they don't charge for delivery, but instead they charge for picking and packing which most other supermarkets include in their delivery charge. So no difference really and in fact I think Iceland is a bit of a con, saying no delivery charge and then hitting you with the picking/packing fee when you get to the checkout. So sorry but I'm not a fan

My Iceland orders, don't do that charge Jeanieallergy21 weird. I like Harris27 am an avid fan of Iceland's free delivery service.

Got a morrisons delivery this week,and driver laughed as they made him do ID for 'rum& raisin' icecream😁

I once ordered an ice cream bombe dessert,they sent a bath bomb (sainsburys) and i wouldnt have minded so much but i didnt even have a bath!

These comments are making me smile and feel nostalgic. When I first started online shopping, I didn't quite know what I was doing, I ordered what I thought would be 12 carrots but ended up with 12 bags instead, I gave most of them away! Also I ordered a pack of foam hair dye from Superdrug and got sent a packet of foam bananas instead! Was tempted to stick them in my hair and send them a photo!

I went away for the weekend and ordered a food delivery for the evening I arrived back. The brand of milk I ordered was out of stock but they didn’t substitute it , they just didn’t send any . I was desperate for a cup of tea after my journey and just couldn't believe it!

My all time favourite was years ago from Waitrose, fresh gazpacho ordered Monster Munch Picked onion flavour delivered.

Lol - so if we combined both our substitutes for gazpacho, we would have a bowl of blood orange juice sprinkled with pickled onion Monster Munch.

Changing the subject slightly, my sister used to have a grey cat called Dorian and she ordered a cat bowl with his name on. When it arrived the bowl had the name Ginger printed on it.

Digressing slightly, but when I was a child my mother worked in the grocer’s shop below where we lived. She developed many talents, including being able to cut the exact weight of butter and cheese ‘by eye’, using a wire and two wooden clothes pegs.
They used to make up customers’ ‘orders’ on Thursdays and Fridays, depending on when the man of the house got paid, and if a substitution had to be made, they had great knowledge of what would be acceptable to the customer!
‘ Oh no, her husband only eats carrots, so no point in sending turnips’ or
‘ Don’t send chocolate digestives, she says she eats the whole packet at once. Send Jaffa Cakes’
That sort of thing!

Compared to other posters’ experiences Ocado is much less entertaining. There are hardly ever any substitutions and when there are they are usually sensible eg recently had plain granola swapped for another flavour, same brand, same price. Any items which are damaged or in any other way unsatisfactory are quickly refunded. How boring my shopping seems by comparison!

Ordered 4 pack of Guinness 0% and Tesco substituted with a 10 pack of Guinness 0%. At no extra cost.

Not quite a supermarket but Jet2 once substituted our 4* hotel for adjacent 5*. And gave us £60 back for the ‘inconvenience’.

i usually do my shopping carefully being vegan but i get all sorts of meat things for substitutes. I know that they do not know me but someone who orders a load of vegan stuff they think that maybe I am a non meat eater! luckily I have a partner who does eat meat but it means I am short of food!

Went all through the 2 years with deliveries. Great service and subs were always an upgrade to finest THEN when it was "all over", we started getting odd things. Green bananas came as very past their best, short dates, lactose free milk to full fat.

But I think the best was shampoo as a sub for strawberries (well it WAS pink). But I did laugh when ordering mincemeat, and it was refused on the grounds that my age could not be verified.
