What is for brunch or lunch ?

Sunday - The 8th of September 2024 ..

Today we had brunch at home relaxing.

I had my favourite eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and Hollandaise and Hubby had his with Iberian Ham.

We had a Venetian Bellini and San Pellegrino Sparkling Water.

Totally pleasant and enjoyable.

This evening, light and simple: A classic salad Niçoise with Ventresca ( albacore white tuna belly) ..

Similar to this. No broccoli side, just green salad.

Roasted cubed scrubbed potatoes, carrots, peppers, onions, tomatoes (olive oil, herbs, salt, pepper), delicious sauce, salad, fruit. AC and GC who came round - beef sausages roasted in as well.

Saturday: The 7th of September 2024 ..

As today is our together day with dear friends, we headed over to The Fratelli Brothers for a stunner of a pizza.

Thursday, the 5th of September 2024 ..

Today lunch was a lemon Risotto with roasted cherry red tomatoes.

Was very simple and lovely.

Dessert was our fave, assorted goat cheeses with assorted fruits of the season.

Wednesday: The 4th of September 2024 ..

Today, I am preparing Zuppa di Pesce which is a staple of assorted fish and shellfish in Sicily. The ingredients are Olive oil, salt, peppercorns, onion, garlic, fresh parsley, fresh red tomatoes, white wine and 2 kilos of assorted shellfish and finned fish .. I am employing Seabass, gilt bream, perch, clams and mussels.

Tuesday the 3rd of September: My husband had a lunch meeting and so did I, so I just grabbed a bite at the Convention Centre .. A simple French Omelette and a side salad.

Nice 1st week of September weatherwise. Much more pleasurable especially in the early mornings.

Monday: The 2nd of September 2024 ..

Lunch today was simple as we both have alot of professional projects to finish.

Chickpea hummus with pita chips was our starter.

Farfale, bowtie pasta with fresh green asparagus.

Simple and lovely.

Steamed steak and mushroom suet pudding with steamed and buttered carrots and cabbage.

Home made lemon mousse with a ginger snap to follow.

Roast pork, roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese (frozen), honey roasted carrots, apple sauce and a jus - well gravy if you must.

Cauliflower - red lentil - red curry soup. Served over jasmine rice. Thai basil, coconut milk, pumpkin seeds as garnish.

Sunday the 1st of September, 2024 ..

Today we are having lunch with dear ones at Fismuler´s which is a Deco minimalist industrial aired enchanting bistro located at Calle Sagasta 29. They are renowned for their creative fusion and their cheesecake ..

Bacon and egg. DH is going to the football.

Lemon chicken and fried rice when he gers home.

I think I will be having a slice of toast!

Saturday Lunch - The 31st of August ..

Today, we decided to have Szechuan Cuisine at a lovely venue called Restaurante de Sichaun not too far from our home base close to The Gran Vía.

One of our all time starter favourites is Bok Choi sautéed simply until tender but not mushy.

I had the sautéed Squid with Pithaya ( dragon fruit ) and my husband had the spicy beef.

Both were truly scrumptuous .. True jewels for the palate.

We shall stop for gelato enroute home .. I always have strawberry and my husband has the chocolate.

Friday the 30th of August 2024 ..

Today we shall be heading over to one of our favourite restaurants, Bibo By: Daní García ..

We love their tuna nigriri and their prawns tempura.

I had brunch an hour ago, Greek yoghurt, blueberries, local strawberries, banana and prunes.

Thursday the 29th of August 2024 ..

Today I have just put in the oven, a tagine with Northern Haddock, onion, garlic, tomato, smoked paprika, saffron, Olive Oil - 100% Hojiblanca, Kalmata olives, salt, peppercorns grinded, red bell strips, garlic, fresh parsley and lemon.

On the side, a fresly made couscous in a Morocaan Couscous Steamer.

A tantalising dish simmering cultural and ethnicity dating back to the Arabs, The Byzantines, The Romans, French, Italians, Portuguese, Spanish and The British and the Phoenicians ..

Nice Thursday wishes. Time to prepare lunch. 13.00 ..

Wednesday .. The 28th of August ..

Today we are having Risotto Milanese with Osso Bucco ..

We voted for a dessert verses a starter !! As it is a filling classic Milanese dish.

Dessert shall be a lite format of Tiramisu with a home made sponge instead of lady fingers.

Of course, this dish pairs perfectly with a Rosé Prosecco.

Tuesday. The 27th of August ..

Today lunch was a simple French Omelette for the main and a Caesar Salad without chicken for the starter.

Simply lovely and enjoyable. I did make the crotons ..
