What's everyone having for dinner?

We had chunky fish finger butties. On white bread that’s the rule - soft thick Warbie’s. Thickly spread with butter and topped with tartare sauce. Food of the gods! Followed by a slice of cherry Genoa cake (not home made who d’ya think I am - Mary Berry?) with a cuppa.

As it is Friday it was fish, caught by DH in rough seas yesterday.

Chicken and chips with a salad. No frills today!

Tonight, seabass with fine green beans and spinach, don't usuall eat potatoes in the week, followed by mince pies and cream accompanied by a glass of Picpoul.

Dustbin soup - my mother’s term for a whatever-you-have. Onion, celery, some ends of swede, celeriac and turnip that needed using up, red lentils, some leftover mashed potato to thicken, parsley, a chicken stock cube - so far.
A few chopped green beans and some white cabbage ditto, plus a little leftover gammon, cubed, will go in for the last few minutes.
Dustbin soups are often on the winter menu in this house - dh loves them.

We love Christmas chutney too and I bought quite a large sized Kilner jar of it. We’ve broken it open already ?
annsixty Mmmm how to choose between those 3? Enjoy whichever you settle on.

I will choose between fillet steak, Parmesan coated chicken breast and salmon and crab risotto, all favourites at one of my favourite restaurants.
This is the second meal out in probably 4 months.
I will do my best to enjoy it.

Spag bol as I have minced beef and garlic and bacon to use up. No doubt I shall eat more than I should do.

Friday Fish

It’s Friday again! Fish!
Cod in breadcrumbs, chips, peas and bread and butter. ? ?

Decided against poached eggs on crumpets and did a Spanish omelette instead to use up a pepper, onion and tomatoes. Rather tasty it was too.

We have just finished eating my home-made beef, mushroom and carrot pie. I make my pastry with butter and egg and serve plenty of beef gravy, mashed potatoes and peas.

Spicy hot wings and fries (KFC)

Thai red curry. I made a batch for the freezer for when I felt lazy!
Tonight’s the night ?

Lamb ragu and pasta. Glass red

Duck, chinese radish, savoury poached pears. Fruit salad. I'm sick of chocolate already and Christmas hasn't even started yet.

Chicken casserole, in the slow cooker.

Sausages, baby potatoes, carrots and sprouts followed by home made mince pies and cream. Ready in about twenty minutes!

Mushroom omelette with baked beans and mashed potato, today is a vegetarian day.

I’m having a cheese omelette with some fried leftover potatoes.

Freezer/oven fish and chips with mushy peas, DH will have a couple of slices of bread and butter with his, he eats nothing all day when he’s working.

We’re having salmon, prawn and broccoli risotto which will necessitate opening a bottle of white wine.......ah well ?

Warm mince pie and vanilla ice cream for pud ?

I am awaiting delivery of a sack of potatoes, as I’m not enjoying the supermarket ones, so I’d planned sea bass with boiled and roast and cauliflower cheese. I’ll give it half an hour, then it’ll be macaroni cheese with bacon and onion.

It could be a 6" square!
