Yes agree I cauliflower lends itself very well to curry, really the best way to cook it, the Indians know how to get the best out of them. Although your recipe sounds very nice BBevan, an alternative to cauliflower cheese. It's amazing how such a bland vegetable can reek they way it does
I managed to pick up two really large ones in M&S for a £1 each, I certainly wouldn't pay £2 for one.
Just to return to the thread I started, yes we also had cauliflower cheese last night, threw in some macaroni and ham to jazz it up a bit. I still have another left, so I may well go with your suggestion BradfordLass, blanch and freeze the evil smelling veg.
I’ll have it! Cauliflower cheese, or a cauliflower/macaroni cheese combo, is always a favourite in this house. Alas our veg box delivery has so far failed to include any.
I made the mistake of chopping the remainder up, it was a big cauliflower, but in future I will follow your advice, our garage is cold, I should have done that in the first place. Just didn't bargain on how the smell permeates. Under normal circumstances, I shop every couple of days so don't keep veg in the fridge for longer periods, but since the lock down just once a week.
Takeit out of the fridge and put it in the garage or a box outside. As long as you haven’t unwrapped the green leaves cauliflower keeps for at least a week, usually more just a n normal temperatures?
Help! In the absence of broccoli on my last big shop, I bought cauliflower, clearly the Durian fruit of vegetables. It reeks to high heaven in my fridge. Any suggestions as to neutralising the smell.
