CA is one of 5 states that fund by student seat time. I think in CA 4 hrs and 30 min counts as a full day of funding.
But all I’ve seen is legislation repealing truancy consequences but I haven’t seen districts push the panic button on funding given the amount of chronic absenteeism.
The bar for being chronically absent is >2 absences a month. We have kids at our school who are missing 40% of the year. I think our average is ~35%. Maybe more (I have to pull the data).
