Oh dear Whiff, you are having a tough time. Hope you get home for some rest and recovery soon.
Welcome Loopyloo you have come to the right place for support NOT criticism 👍
Dear Whiff I have only just seen your posts. So sorry to hear of your heart issues. Hope all goes well and smoothly for you today (I've had an angiogram). Wishing you a speedy recovery and all the best for the future.
Dear Whiff,
Hope you get the angio today and manage to get home.
Met my lovely DDL and had a wonderful tea at the Dalloway Lounge in London.
But have put on half a stone.
I weigh far too much so am joining you guys if I may.
How are some people so disciplined, and never put on an inch?
Well done keepingquiet 3 lbs is excellent 👍
Yes thinking about you Whiff and hoping you are home soon. It sounds like a pretty frightening experience.
I managed to lose 3lbs this week! That means I have almost regained my pre-Christmas weight. I have also lost a whole inch off my waist!
This week I am back on my meal plans and hoping once the snow has gone I can get out a bit more!
Take care everyone!
Dear Whiff only just seen your post. I am so pleased you have had quick medical care and appear to be in the mend. How frightening for you. I am sure you will feel relieved to be back home and in your own bed.
You are in my thoughts. 💐💐
Nurse came for blood.🦇.
On the afternoon went to loo while in there feel very hot and giddy wanted a lie down. Shouted my daughter now no idea what happened next my daughter told me . Because my bed was on a slope she and a nurse tried to sit me on a chair and I fought them anyway eventually got on a bed and must had blacked out. Remember hearing the cardiologist telling me to open my eyes managed a bit . My daughter said it was a mad run the the ward. Only 4 beds per room. Speech was gone so with my odd word and mime and my daughter speaking for me explained to the nurses what happened and about my HPX. Electrodes all over the place. Yesterday had echocardiogram and x ray . Saw cardiologist who told me I had had a lower chamber heart attack on Monday. Silent heart attack. Apparently women get them more than men . Men tend to have all the bells and whistles. But then again my dad only got breathless no pain with his 2.
Hopefully tomorrow going to another hospital for angigram and stent or stents fitted. Then home and in the care of cardiac team and action heart.
Only pain I am in is my usual pain. Changed heart tablets and having injections into my ample tummy.
Just thought it was due to UTI which I had got Monday as they make me weird. Ok weirder than usual 🤣🤣🤣..
So brilliant incentive to finally stick to losing weight and not put any back on.
Friends I feel well and look my normal self . Hopefully be home Sunday for weigh in if they do have me at the other hospital tomorrow. If not they will do eventually.
Take care all and please take notice of any odd symptoms and if not well get medical help. 💖
Oh Whiff. I was thinking of you yesterday. Please keep us up to speed with how you are. xxx
Well gang lost 1lb this week . Then had an unexpected event on Monday woke with a headache at 3am still there by 4. I don't get headaches and had pain in my left side of my neck. Called my daughter at 4.30 and only word I could say was help.
Got to the hospital at 5 within hour had ECG , bloods and brain CT scan. Saw stroke nurse ruled that out. Lost my speak for a while . Mind you my daughter did say it was nice to have a quite journey 🤣
On bed in a&E corridor ward. Later had another ECG but found an amonoly . So cardiac enzyme blood test needed. Took most of the day had results heart muscle damage . So had had a heart attack . Saw cardiologist and said I would be on a ward as soon as possible..
Tuesday after spending the night and most of the day on the corridor. Did get onto acute cardiac ward.

My plan is…..not to shop for a few weeks and eat the food I have here.
Haha- me too because I can't get out! Not much above freezing here again and very icy underfoot. Last night I took a walk to the local shop just to get pizza!
I have now finished off the biscuits and there isn't much in my cupboard because I was away for Christmas and new Year.
I am so looking forward to getting out and doing a proper food shop soon!
My plan is to count my calories everyday and keep them under 1,500. Slow but sure weight loss for me.
My plan is…..not to shop for a few weeks and eat the food I have here.
Happy New Year everyone!
Christmas is officially over today and so time to start over.
All the 4lbs I lost prior to Christmas I put back on! Surprise surprise.
I don't think it was so much the food however as the lack of exercise for me.
Yesterday I had a long walk in the snow but I still have a little chocolate and biscuits to finish off.
Also I can't get the car out yet so have to rely on local shops and so re-starting my meal plans may take time.
I hope everyone has had a healthy start to 2025 and let's make this the year we lose and keep they weight off!!
Good morning on this snowy one. I put on 2lbs this past week, no surprise but now back on track.
Cheesecake looks good whiff.
Stay warm and no skiing in the snow.
That looks good whiff
Happy and healthy new year to you all.
Thanks NanKate. My New Year resolution is to shift the excess pounds and get a bit fitter. Good luck everyone.
Happy New Year Whiff and ALL the Pears and Apples.
In May it will be 7 years since I started this Thread, so we must be doing something right. In that time my weight has gone Up and Down but like so many of us I am still here flying the flag for ‘Eating Less for life’ and not giving up. However it is the support of the Members here that keeps us All going.
So let’s start 2025 together to improve our eating habits and have a healthy Lifestyle.
Happy new year everyone health and happiness to you all. Hope you can achieve all you want but remember it's a marathon not a sprint.
Had friends to lunch yesterday gluten free veggie lasagna very heavy on cheese and made a gluten free shortbread for the base of a black cherry cheesecake full fat with topping of dark chocolate ganache. My friends took leftovers home so no naughty food in my home . Back to my normal eating routine.
Keep going pears and together will be getting through the year whatever size we are . Look forward to hearing about all your plans for holidays etc .
Keep on going my friends 🎇🥂
CocoPops sorry about your sons cold and spreading it around . But at least you are together and that's the main thing . Love the gingerbread clock some people are so clever . I know you will be sad when he has to leave but you are making happy memories even with a cold . Bet he is glad to have his mom's cooking again . Enjoy the rest of the holiday with him .
Should have said I was weeing not an upset tummy . 🤦🤣.
Shirley you lost that kilo quickly brilliant only wish I could lose what I put on as quickly as it goes on .
Madeleine welcome to the pears and assorted fruits. Wow you have a lot to cope with hope the cancer treatment works for you . Never worry about long posts as I ramble on about everything and anything. You are a woman who faces life head on and finds ways to make the world suit you not the other way round. Lot on here are like that me included. Had to find ways to do things but my way.
I have problems standing but it's not my back but my limbs . I wobble when I stand and get wobblier after 5 mins . My hands tremble all the time and my right is worse . I use a stick in my right hand when outside so my stick wobbles then have to move my feet to stay upright. Thinking about it can saying it's exercise 😂.
Glad the swimming helps you . I bulk cook my lunch time soup and stew type dinner enough for 6 meals each . But reheat my soup in the microwave but my dinner in the oven . I just leave the soup in a big plastic box in the fridge and portion my dinner into oven proof dishes and leave in the fridge and reheat in the oven . If I froze things I would forget to get them out 🤦.
NanKate made this a happy place to be and we talk about anything.
Sorry about your bathroom pipe etc. But hope with your new one you had kitted out to make it easier for you to use. I would be lost without my shower chair and handles in the shower rectangle and my ease toilet and grab rail on the wall. Plus the basin in the cupboard at waist high no bending because of my balance problems .
Why is it you never just have one thing at a time happen. The old saying things happens in 3's certainly happens to me .
NanKate even though I over ate I still looked up things in the book . So instead of 6 pieces of chocolate only had 3. Like you said it's brilliant having the pictures on plates plus the lists of cals etc for foods cooked and raw weight. I have told lot of people about it . That's a lovely thing to do making a wish. Mine would be do not judge people by their appearance as you don't know if they have a hidden disability or health problem.
Made my gluten free shortbread yesterday for the base of my cheesecake. I found making the shortbread using gluten free flour so much easier on my hands than normal flour and the spread and sugar cane to together quicker and easy to spread in the tin.
I used my usual shortbread recipe but altered it as I only had gluten free SR flour used that and it worked.
300g gluten free SR flour
100g granulated sugar
200g olive spread
Just squeeze together . Lightly greased a sq tin . Mix was easy to spread in the tin . Pricked it . Oven 180° 25 mins until golden brown. Left in tin and just cut it while hot once cold took out of the tin . If course had to test a piece . Will always use gluten free flour for shortbread it is delicious 😋.
My old recipe was
200g p flour
100g semolina
100g granulated sugar
200g olive spread.
But it was harder to mix and didn't spread as easily.
Never to old to learn new ways.
Have a brilliant new year everyone and hope in 2025 you can achieve everything you want out of life . 💕
