My favourite group in August 1960 (Barry was almost 14 and Robin and Maurice were 10) in one of their earliest TV appearances (not their absolute first.)

By this point, the family had emigrated from the UK to Australia, where they remained until January 1967.

'Time is Passing By' is a Barry Gibb original. Given he was only 13 when he wrote it, it's not bad.

I used to like the BeeGees, had no idea they started their musical lives so early. Now and again you hear their songs on the radio still.

Didn’t Lulu marry one of them?

Yes, she was married to Maurice from 1969-1973.

I think they have an interesting backstory, even if someone is not particularly into their music.

Yes, they were singing together from the time Barry was 9 and Robin and Maurice were 6. At that time they were living in Manchester and their first live performance was at a cinema in December 1958 (Barry being 11 and the twins having just turned 8.) At that time they were in a skiffle group with two friends, called The Rattlesnakes.

By the time of the above video (1960) they were working to support their family (they had an older sister and a much younger brother, Andy.)
