Yes, there is conscription for most citizens of Israel at age 18. Refusal to serve results in a prison sentence. Whatever we may think of the rights or wrongs of this, they are still very young and someone's son or daughter.

Loved Rod Stewart for his age he was amazing

I loved Rod's set. I have seen him live on a few occasions and he knows how to work a crowd, still.
Sadly, his support for Mr Farage means that I no longer wish to be considered for the role of next wife.
I expect that he will be devastated, but Penny Lancaster will be relieved, obviously.

DD informed me it cost £300,000 to put that set on last night but they were paid £120,000 by Glastonbury. He paid the rest himself.

I couldn't give two hoots about 'being down with the kids'. It's all about the music for me. I still listen to quite a lot of the punk stuff I grew up with, but I've embraced lots of different music over the years and I hope I carry on doing that. And I'd have definitely been a emo kid - give me a bit of guyliner and I'm in seventh heaven!

I'm confused by what 'anti-Semitism' is, and hoping you lovely people can help me.
On the radio 4 news program, they were discussing the shout of 'kill the IDF' from one of the performers at Glastonbury and representative from the Jewish group said it was ant-Semitic. Surely its anti Israel, but not anti-Semitic?

If it is only the IDF out of all the world conflicts that is singled out, then I can see how that would be construed as antisemitic.

Rod is wearing well and put on a good show but his voice is way past its best which is only natural at 80.

Not a fan of Simply Red but Mick Hucknall can still sing, and so can Lulu who was looking good.

Loved all the musicians and backing singers, and loved those little red ankle boots (and the gold ones) the young women were wearing.

Pleased to watch it from my sofa as I found the aerial views of the huge crowds overwhelming.

I absolutely loved the Rod set, His voice was a bit iffy at first but I thought it improved throughout the performance. His energy at 80 is phenominal, I wish I had half that much.

I baulked at the crowds too, much better on the telly.

Loved the guy singing the old school songs and the audience participation was brilliant .
Lewis Capaldi one of my favourites but nobody else did it for me this year unlike a Coldplay last year!
Rod Stewart was ok apart from his political comments. His voice just about held up.
I am seeing Elbow perform in York Museum gardens on Thursday , very civilised!! No detritus left behind either

He has always been genuinely kind hearted and generous to many causes and unlike many people he puts his money where his mouth is.

I read today he has made a massive donation for homeless people but not sure if that report is accurate.

I do know he has paid bills for people, funded surgery and transplants, donated a tour bus to charity and a whole lot more.

I got a bit emotional when Lewis Capaldi was on. It’s lovely to see him back after dealing with and hopefully overcoming his demons. Loved his new song.
I haven’t seen a lot of the acts yet apart from Alanis, Wet Leg, Brandi Carlisle, and John Foggerty from my fave band of all time CCR.
I must say I was a bit sad to see him. At 80 his voice has not stood the test of time. The music though was phenomenal. His two sons were supporting him and they are truly chips off the old block. Even though his voice sadly hasn’t stood the test of time, I mean he’s 80 for goodness sake,I really enjoyed it. The vibe is definitely still there.
I’m gonna sit down later to see if Rod Stewart, Neil Young, Lulu, and Supergrass have stood the test of time. I hope I’m not too disappointed.

Neil Young definitely my favourite act this year, nostalgic and brilliant to see him .

I’m annoyed with myself for not recording it. I so want to relive it. I’ll just have to dig out all my Neil Young cd’s.

I think he’s opened a home for the homeless in honour of his late father. At least, that’s what I read on Facebook.

I loved Rod Stewart last evening, his voice got better and stronger after a couple of songs. I thought the various female musicians and singers were really good, and the sax player added to the whole performance. The appearance of Ronnie Wood was a big surprise. The hour and a half went so quickly being transported back in time!

So obviously music piracy is very wrong. So I can't mention that Neil youngs full Glastonbury set is floating around on Reddit.

I share the general concern increasingly expressed by the majority about what this israeli government is doing to Palestinian people.

I haven’t seen demonstrations about other wars in the middle east, against the awful Assad when he was in Syria. Libya, Lebanon, endless brutality against women and children in Africa in Sudan. Yet the demonstrations pro Palestine, anti Israel dominate our headlines. I do not defend Netanyahu or the Settlers, their actions are indefensible. How can it be acceptable for the chants led at Glastonbury , a music festival like the one in October 2024 where innocent people were killed, raped and captured?

It is anti semitism with those death to chants and the crowd, sheeple joining in should be ashamed of themselves as should the BBC who knowingly kept on with recording. At a music festival of all places.

The BBC has said it was wrong to show that film.

The two men have had their visas withdrawn for a visit to America this year , America doesn’t want them.
A police investigation is taking place, I doubt they will prosecute
