Thinking of you especially, Kaimoana - as it is so hot here.
I hope it's not as cold there as it is hot here and that you are able to keep well wrapped up

NotSpaghetti Thu 28-May-26 20:16:57

*SCOOP jaxjacky!

Jaxjacky Thu 28-May-26 20:12:01

Excuse me inteterrupting, ixion, white Magnums half price in Tesco with club card 🙂.

NotSpaghetti Thu 28-May-26 20:09:40

Oh ixion - that could so easily be me wrestling with (say) Sundried tomatoes in oil, or olives or whatever!

I have several linen sleeveless tops and have had to have all of them on this week - oil, curry, yogurt, tomato sauce... not one made it safely till bedtime.

And, I have fallen over not once but twice today! Once falling into a hydrangea and damaging my shoulder., and once looking for the secateurs in the jungle loosely referred to as the garden!

The first time I was trying to see if my husband had managed to remove the poor old box tree/shrub (?) which was totally decimated this year, and tripped over a small potted plant I'd put there jyst an hour before

Left-overs for dinner... Feeling a bit deflated as had been to two lots of Yoga thos week where i was useless. I need to work on my left foot again I think... but Mr Spaghetti told me I need to work on not rushing about.
.*Love to you all.*
🌞

X-ed posts!
As NS says, it only takes one interested party to effect a sale - unless you can generate a bidding war with Music Man

Grammaretto, I'm sure your lovely home will find someone soon.

ixion Thu 28-May-26 19:54:10

Too hot to do much here these past few days: playing at being a domestic goddess, I have been pegging all my washing out on the line, only to find it is ready dried for me before I am ready for it.

Magnum lolly-stock rapidly dwindling- I read elsewhere that some Grans are treating themselves to the mini version😱. Not here.

I have just taken receipt of a nifty device for opening a variety of jars, acknowledging sadly that strength in various areas is diminishing for the two of us and that we can't always wait for a visit from DS to open stiff lids.

Mr.I is mighty impressed with its range of 8 potential lid opener sizes (4 on each side), me not so taken with the device which looks like a pair of antennae with which one prises open the ring pulls on tins of tuna.

Having struggled with what must be the culinary equivalent of mud wrestling (the more oil that leaked out, the slipperier the tin became), finally the lid wrenched back, only to spray my beautiful new Seasalt linen tunic top with copious spots of sunflower oil.

Grr.

Grammaretto, do you sell by sealed bids in Scotland, or is it optional?

Grammaretto Thu 28-May-26 19:44:19

It has been hot today.
I was travelling home from the North of Scotland so sitting on a hot train for about 7 hours. The air conditioning wasn't working. I was sharing awful travel stories with a woman across the aisle. 😡😲

It's good to be home. I'll have an early night after watering the garden.

Not had any more interest in my house, sadly.

Another hot day. Art this morning pastels. I hate them . Such a mess and no clear outlines, Company was good though,
Knitting this afternoon and even the church was hot inside,
Home, pjs on fans on exhausted.
Grammaretto i Hope viewings are lining up for your house,

NN so sorry about poor Luna. It’s always hard to say good bye to a much loved pet,
kaimoana I wish there was some way we could all communicate better. We miss you being here with us all the time.
Grammaretto good luck with the house viewing. Hope you get some real interest soon,

NotSpaghetti Wed 27-May-26 07:09:00

You only need one Grammaretto
Fingers crossed.
Your photos are beautiful.
😍

Grammaretto Wed 27-May-26 07:01:10

Sorry you are grieving for your beloved Luna. Naughtyneine

Whenever I visit my DD, her youngest DD likes to take me to visit Teddy's grave, their beloved corgi who died just before DH during lockdown. What a sad time that was when they saw noone outside their tiny bubble for 100 days.

I am enjoying my time with my friend in the North. Yesterday we took the wee ferry to Cromarty and although several places were closed we found the ruined Gaelic chapel, the pottery and ice cream. On the ferry back a dolphin leapt and dived in front of me!

It is very quiet here apart from birdsong.
She is an artist and a weaver who dyes and spins so I'm surrounded by beautiful things.

I heard that someone is coming to view the house at the weekend. Just one so far.

Kaimoana2 Wed 27-May-26 01:12:42

Oh,how very sad. Great love we benefit by but it leads to su h sorrow when are parted. Aroha mai

Kaimoana2 Wed 27-May-26 01:06:47

Naughtyneine
I know only too well how hard that is. Been there several times. Sending love the pain and sadness will get better xx

Naughtyneine Tue 26-May-26 19:58:50

Well our beautiful girl has gone to be with Neddy. She died wagging her tail and eating ham I couldn't have asked for a better way. The vet cried...she had made friends with everyone at the practice over the last 5 months. I went on my own....big girl pants on, I won't lie it was hard. We are now sitting in the garden drinking wine remembering her. In comparison to the loss that many of you have experienced this pales into insignificance I know... Thank you for being there in spirit.

Notspaghetti I’m not someone who comes well with the heat, it drains me. I’m sitting with two fans on me and it’s still really hot here.
ixion I hope that course works for you. I wobble a lot when I walk. Go from side to side without realising. My ankles are quite stiff and with a bad left ankle and bad right knee I think my they’re bothering fighting each other to keep the weight off them.
Oh NN I’m so sorry about Luna. I know how hard it is. Our lovely yorkie couldn’t cope with the heat. It’s a tough decision to make. Thinking of all of you and sending love and hugs.
Grammaretto is your house in the market now? Any viewings ?

Grammaretto Tue 26-May-26 18:38:50

I hope you aren't alone Naughtyneine
Sending love and hugs xxxxx

ixion Tue 26-May-26 12:59:52

Have you someone going with you? Xx

ixion Tue 26-May-26 12:58:54

Thinking of you and with you in thoughts as you make this most difficult of journeys.
🥀
Xx

NotSpaghetti Tue 26-May-26 11:32:57

Beautiful Luna
Gentle hugs to all of you
❤️

Naughtyneine Tue 26-May-26 11:24:56

Luna.

Naughtyneine Tue 26-May-26 11:23:35

I'll be back in a while. I've just made the call to the vet. We've reached the end of the road. Still wagging her tail but struggling in this heat. We are going in at 3 o clock. Rightly or wrongly I don't know but I haven't told DH. He was distraught when we lost Neddy 2 and a half years ago and although he knows it's time I am sparing him that final moment. Keep me in your thoughts please.

ixion Tue 26-May-26 09:16:12

Good morning from yet another soon-to-scorching day. 🥱
Well no, not really. More 🥳

Lots of tips here as well as commiserations for the less mobile of the Lobstars.
I am hoping that my 26 (😱) week course of strength and balance workouts will lead me to more stability and general flexibility for striding out, despite the dodgy ankle. If nothing else, my purse will benefit, farewell 30 minute physio sessions at £62 a pop.

There is great comfort to be had by being in a class with others, lurking at the back and furtively glancing round to see if you are the worst in class.

I hope support is rallying for you, Kaimoana. What progress? In my thoughts💐

Did you get any viewings for your house, Grammaretto?
I wonder how, these days, they sort the seriously interested from the nosey-parkers idle curious? Continuing good luck.

Is Theo coping with the heat, Jan? We bought Barney one of those cool mats last year but he doesn't really 'get' it.
He has taken to sleeping in the hall in a cardboard 'tunnel' we rigged up as a piece of keep fit apparatus for him (haha), despite me telling him his stray-days are over now
I guess the fleece blanket on every available chair, settee, bed etc are unwelcome in this heat.

How is D🐕2 faring, NN? And you both, of course.
Worry, combined with sadness, is draining, isn't it?

Pace yourselves, 🦞🦞.
Apart from Kaimoana - wrap up warm!

NotSpaghetti Tue 26-May-26 07:28:04

Doodle, how very frustrating to have ankle problems. My left foot is sort-of "tight" and "slow" generally, and that is bad enough.

* I do hope you are all doing OK in this heat*
