Ixion I am paying for private physio. Its big money but as far as I am concerned its worth every penny and thats a lot of pennies!!
Grammeretto hope your hand is healing well. Everyone seems to have problems at the moment. And our Cherry poorly too.
Good news from Kaimoana - really need good news at the moment.
Nfk dont think we were far from you a few weeks ago. Well we are not that far when we are at home but had another week near Horning 2 weeks ago. We love it by the Norfolk Broads and its only an hour and a half away so at the moment thats ideal.
DH pacemaker change went well although apparently he only had 2 wires attached and he was expecting 3. Being DH he is querying it and waiting for a call back from Papworth. Also the jury is out on whether the new pacemaker has made any difference! One day it has and the next day it hasnt!!!
Fingers crossed we hear from Doodle very soon

Much to my surprise I am home!! all. I’m too tired to write much tonight but just to let you know I went into hospital yesterday and this morning they decided to do a chest X-ray. The results showed the fluid in the lung had decreased and they suggested that rather than go through a painful and distressing procedure now, I could wait 2 more months to see if the fluid went away or got worse. If worse they could do the procedure then. Apparently it would be of no benefit to me either way it would only be for diagnostic purposes to see where the fluid had come from. I decided I’d got enough to cope with at the moment without nerve damage and possible worsening of the problem so I chose to go home and wait 2 months,

I’m now back totally exhausted from just the stress. Being back in hospital brought back so many painful memories of the last 12 months or so it was hard being there. Staff were lovely but it m was very upsetting. So pleased to be home.
I’m so tired, please forgive me I will catch up tomorrow. Xx

I'm to have a tetanus injection tomorrow. The hand is still sore and swollen but it is definitely improving.

I'm glad to hear you are home dear Doodle and in my opinion, you need more than two months rest and stress recovery. Were I your physician I'd be suggesting six months at least and even then, I'd want to assess you anew..
Don't forget you are in charge and if you don't feel up to it in two months, you make the decisions.

I'm to be seen in 2 months as well but mine is very small stuff by comparison.

I'm not sure where DS intends to look for work ixion.
It's partly a recce but he may stay in London just to get used to things until the family join him in December.

I am hoping our Viet-namese family at Deptford Wharf can advise on temporary accommodation.

Of course I was awake half the night weeping worrying, not made any easier by his kind and rather tearful words yesterday: 'Mum, you have always been my rock.'

I have Kiwi Helper arriving tomorrow. A young man from Auckland infact who is keen to help me for a week. I have a list of jobs as usual but the biggest one was to be clearing the room with the fallen ceiling. I hope this is not too premature.

So, good news then as it looks like the lobster medical problems are sorting themselves out quite satisfactorily. If only for another two months - or a tetanus injection and more antibiotics. That is so great! I am in awe of modern medicine.

You ask if I'm near the beaches. I'm about 10 minutes drive away from the nearest on the north coast. Just far enough to be on the right side of sea mists which sweep in from the north in hot weather! Being Norfolk we have a wide sweep of beaches to chose from according to the weather. I know Horning quite well Jan. I went to school in Wroxham. I am one of those inbred NFN persons, although lacking the webbed toes!

NFK how lovely to have a choice of beaches nearby. I’d love to be near the sea but shouldn’t complain because at least I have the river. Not quite the same as a beach and waves and certainly no good for paddling in.

ixion shame your injection didn’t work its magic too well. Do you do the exercises every day. I always start off with good intentions then forget about halfway through the week.

ixion, your parish council sounds a bit like our community council. When we first moved here we received their newspaper, though consisting of one double sheet it can hardly be called that. Inside it they said they were looking for suggestions for activities/events they could put on and ways to increase participation and announced a coffee morning to gether said suggestions - all welcome. We put on our thinking caps, came up with some ideas and decided to go 🤦‍♀️.

I'm no expert on pacemakers Jan but perhaps some of the newer ones only have 2, as opposed to 3, wires 🤔. I hope Papworth got back to your DH and put his mind at rest.

I've virtually stopped coughing now. Yay. I haven't had a seizure today. Yay. My sciatica is easing and I received a late very late birthday present in the post from an old friend. Yay. Perhaps I'll dig out my old Tigger tail 😅.

Grammaretto when that roof finally gets fixed and a good summer dries everything out, perhaps a check for dry/wet rot would be a good idea?

This was neglected in our old house in Cornwall and as a result, the massive granite lintel and window mullions collapsed and the house had to have those girders put up to make sure the whole place didn't collapse.

I like the idea of being a sand castle with a moat (though this latter feature made me smile).

It is indeed the Fete de Spud this weekend! Where did that year go?

The birthday boy is now at nursery for three days a week as his Mama is back teaching part time. He's doing well and she's adjusting!

* Mr M and I have been on a torrid journey of illness, injury and bereavement in the last three weeks, including Covid, Hand,Foot and Mouth, a broken finger and the sudden loss of someone very dear to me.*

Why do horrors come in clusters? We have hunkered down and are focusing on getting well and truly recovered....and on hosting Spud's big bash. It's on Sunday and the weather looks set fair for once

Kaimoana has sent me a delightful playlist of versions of Happy Birthday for the party....We will play it on a loop 😆

I have been reading and keeping up but felt unable to inflict my misery on you lot when as a collective we seem to have more than our share of the stuff....but the running beans are fine, the French beans are a different story and the onions are epic! There's light at the end of my tunnel

Please cheer on the GB Archery team in Paris - one of them is very dear to us and we can't go to support as planned as we have a funeral to attend.

I was back at work today and had to tell nearly every customer in turn about how I managed to be bitten.

So I'm a toothless, blind witch with a sore hand.

Meanwhile df son is a volunteer firefighter in Canada where people are losing their homes and she's worried about them.

There are obviously lots of different pacemakers and you often can change the gadget and leave the wires. The newer ones can go through MRI scanners apparently.

My older son had his changed in America and says next time he will have a re-wire too as although it will mean more surgery the end result will be better longer term.

I'm just glad it's keeping him going!

Notspaghetti yes the pacemakers are a huge benefit. Mine apparently keeps my heart going at a reasonable rate. Going for another check in a couple of months,

Sons and I went to collect DH’s ashes today. He’s now at home where he belongs with me. Lovely to have the boys with me. We went to look at the memorial tree where I’ve just had a leaf dedicated to DH then we sat by the lake and had coffee in the sunshine.

I had a feeling you were similarly beleaguered by ills Mamissimo and hope the wheel of fortune turns soon.
