Just that really. With more or less all restrictions being lifted today, will you continue to wear a mask in shops and on public transport? Personally, I feel safer wearing a mask when out and about - but will I be the only one???
I've masked up since Feb 2020. See no reason to change now. I'm also continuing to be extremely selective about what indoor locations I go into. No pubs or restaurants, where I have to take my mask off.
Personal choice of course. Others in my family have to take risks due to work/school, so my life isn't totally risk free. But as near as I can get it.
It’s called the ‘Distance Aware’ scheme. You can get a yellow lanyard or badge. I tend to think that If someone can see you lanyard, or badge especially, they are already too close. It seems a bit useless really
Agreed! I think this is all particularly worrying for the CEV. Not sure I like the idea of CEV folks having to ‘identify’ themselves in some way. In an inclusive society, we should all be working together for the good of everyone, equally. All these restrictions being lifted smacks of ‘the young, fit & healthy’ can get on with life as usual; the rest of us… ‘tough luck’.
I will still be wearing a mask in shops. We don’t have public transport here but if we did and I had no alternative than to use it I would definitely be wearing a mask. Omicron may be milder for most people but as far as I know Delta is still around and who knows if or when another variant will come along. I’m not happy about restrictions being dropped when there are still tens of thousands of cases and hundreds of deaths every day, and worried that we won’t know the true picture with positive lft results no longer being reported. The dropping of the requirement for people travelling to the UK from abroad to be tested so long as they are vaccinated seems plain daft to me. Since when did vaccination prevent anyone from catching covid?
I probably will still especially in medical establishments. I’ll judge each situation and decide. Going to the supermarket today and will wear it as it’s a busy one. I wouldn’t dream of walking in the hospital without one. I’d like our country to get into the mindset like Asia where they wear them not only for bad air quality but if the have a cold cough or flu they wear one so they don’t pass it on to others. Our son lives there and says that’s their mindset.
It’s not ideal for the CEV I heard on the radio that Scotland have got some sort of system in place that the CEV ‘identify themselves’ (nice) so that people know to keep their distance.
I definitely will .GSI (aged 14 ) is now doing remote learning as it is a big school and they have run out of supply teachers and cover teachers. His twin sister goes to a different school and I think it will be her turn soon. 50% of her year 10 class have COVID. Both schools are advising students to still wear masks though they obviously can’t enforce it now with the relaxing of the rules.
Yes. I'm going to my hair clinic today. I will be wearing my mask. I assume they will be carrying on as normal there. Stylist as mask, visor, apron. They use disposable towels and capes and sterilise brushes and combs regularly. They have been very careful.
