Are you still wearing a face mask?

We have continued to wear masks (me and DH). No exceptions.
We have both been unwell recently.
Double vaccinations for both of us.
Didn't think we could get covid. My son and DIL had been unwell-had to test for work and both tested positive along with 2 year old son. DH also tested positive.
If we had not worn masks when out we would have been spreading to others.
Something that has come as a shock to all of us is how unwell son and DIL have been with it and still are. They are mid thirties. They are not vaccinated and cannot be persuaded.
It will be a very long time before I feel like going out without a mask.

I get furious with anti maskers, I really do.
So selfish and rather childish.

The masks have protected me from colds as well. I am definitely wearing mine. Actually in Scotland we have been expected to wear facemasks on public transport and in shops since the start.
I heard that the sanitising of hands is less important as it's the breathing in your face which spreads the virus best.

We use face masks in shops, surgery and hospital and use sanitiser before and after leaving a building. It just seems to be the sensible thing to do, though I must admit I do dislike wearing masks. Where possible we avoid being too close to fellow shoppers/patients. Frankly it has just become a way of life and we don’t really think about it any more,

I lost my husband to Covid in May 2020, and suffer from Long Covid myself. I've never stopped wearing a mask - not only for my own sake, since one can catch Covid more than once - but because I don't ever want to feel even part way responsible for someone else having to go through the horrendous heartbreak that I did as my husband succumbed to this vile disease.

We wear masks in shops ,was surprised when away last week we travelled on train twice into Scotland and obviously back and there were lots of people in trains not wearing them .

I really can't believe that people are still staying that masks are not effective when trial after trial have proved then be effective in the reduction of transmission. Why do people choose to believe something they read on the net when this country's top medical experts including the CMO advise that they should be worn? That's a rhetorical question BTW.

I’ve read many papers regarding mask wearing and infection control and as a result wear a mask indoors away from home. It would indeed be selfish and unwise ( knowing what I have read from reputable sources) not to! I agree with Lucca. Wearing a face covering ( unless exempt) is a condition of travel on the busy train I have to use for work- but only about 1/3 of people comply- which I find disappointing!

I have always worn mine and will continue to do so for as long as I deem it appropriate. And I will also continue to give a wide berth to anyone who isn't wearing one.

Yes. It's easier for us in Scotland as it is still a legal requirement to wear one in shops , public transport and other public indoor spaces.

hulahoop, if you were on Scotrail trains you were unfortunate, as the ones we have been on, although busy, had most passengers wearing masks. If you were on a cross-border service, I understand from a friend who has used them several times that there is a lot less mask-wearing among passengers and staff.

Wear in shops and public buildings etc.

Also trying to keep up with hand sanitizing and washing.
In the hope that I can avoid not just covid, but also colds and
flu germs.

Although difficult with grandchildren at primary school.
Two of our grandsons just this last week have had horrible cough and colds,
Not sure how we have escaped.

Ps, have also started taking Vitamin D again.

I wear a mask if going indoors & am required to. These days that’s been the pharmacy, the GP surgery and for a hospital out patient appointment. If not mandatory, I don’t. But I don’t get up close to anyone when outside in the fresh air. I keep a good distance and I’m outside so I don’t see the need. Most people I see out and about aren’t wearing them.

I don't think it'll be too long before "the rules" change again.

I wear a mask if I have to. My daughter loves wearing a mask. Keeps her face warm. I don't see many mask wearers in shops these days though.

I still wear a mask and still sanitise my hands,but I'm really fed up of the number of tourists I see going into the local shops here not doing either, it makes me wish we were still in full lockdown and they weren't here at all.

Yes. They are still mandatory in shops, libraries etc in Wales

When I go shopping yes I wear a mask and when travelling on a train.

That is terrible Poshpaws. You have had a lot to deal with.

I lost my DH last year, to cancer and his father 2 weeks later with covid, caught in hospital.
It feels awful when people trivialise it.

When I go out in public I will wear a top quality mask and also a perspex shield to protect my eyes.
