A very expensive party in Norwich

Maybe these students listened to Gupta, Heneghan and Sikora and were doing their bit for herd immunity.

I saw this report on the news and quite honestly, the house where the party was isn't in an area that looked as if it could be classed as student accommodation.
Is it close to the hospital? Our son has a house in a residential area opposite a teaching hospital which lets to 4 medical students × £500 = £2,000. Luckily they are quiet, studious, overseas students and I think there is something written into the contract anyway about staying over/parties.
I would hate to be a landlord for students.

What I find worrying is that these 3 , supposedly intelligent women are apparently medical students - what sort of doctors will they be?
Sincerely hope as well that the university take disciplinary action against them as well, especially as at least one of them was apparently aware that she had Covid.

Our local university would have terminated their courses. They and the police have told all residents to call 999, if ANY anti social behaviour happens. I think a few students seem to be leaving, maybe the threat of another national lockdown. The campus is empty, all working indoors I suppose. Then need to ‘ run off their energy’ at night! They should never have gone back.

Norfolk is not at high risk ( not at present antway) but we are all at risk and this was foolish and inexcusable. Its hard to believe medical students would be so irresponsible. Maybe this might serve as a lesson to others.

This is in my area and I have absolutely zero sympathy for their whining complaints how 'its what students do' !!

It proved to me that intelligence isn't measured by education .

they have just reinforced the impressions that some people have regarding students.
Good point!
I have no problem with students socialising and having a good time but why is it always taken to excess?

And studying medicine too. Heaven help us!!!

It just beggers belief doesn't it, that people can be so selfish and presumably not care about their neighbours, the people at the party and everybody that they meet to not bother about the virus, in spite of all the publicity surrounding the risks. If I was a fellow student I would be so angry at them as they have just reinforced the impressions that some people have regarding students.

Twiceasnice Clever people, not intelligent people, Intelligence is the extra commonsense and thoughtfulness that people who are just 'clever' do not have - like our current government.

Imagine if they were your children.
So proud as you loaded the car and dropped them off, especially at the moment when we are so thankful for our medics, now this.
I would be beside myself.

Perhaps charges of criminally negligent attempted manslaughter would show them the seriousness of their crime and set an example.

Serves them right. I hope the payment of the fine is pursued and they end up paying installments for a good long time. It will make them think twice before being so stupid and selfish again. Apart form anything else they were meant to be self-isolating.

As they are medical students, they must have first hand experience of the full horros of COVID. Under the circumstances perhaps the fine should be doubled.

I just hope I never have them as my GP or need to consult them asa a consultant.

Jaxjacky, so they were positive for Covid! Could it be that they were trying to prove the point for 'herd immunity'?

Not only a party, allegedly positive for C19, should have been isolating...

It was held on a residential street in Norwich too so no doubt the noise was atrocious. I hope they are kicked out of uni.

Medical students have always had the reputation of being particularly wild, perhaps because of the seriousness of their eventual career. No excuse, though.

It just proves intelligent people can also be very stupid! Don’t they think about other people ! Obviously not !

Goodness - that's pushing the limits isn't it. I hope if they are medical students they are investigated by the Dean and not only will this go on their records, there will be some kind of sanction
Entitled is the right word.

If they can afford parties and drinks then they can pay their fines. There are thousands having to go without because of slobs like these.

People like this make me sick ! Entitled indeed Dinahmo----like many.

If they are medical students, they will be investigated by the Dean of their medical school and it will be on their records. Good - they of all students should have known better.

Hmm I think if I were the landlord I'd be considering throwing them out.
100 party guests in the property as well as covid implications.

"Entitled" !!!

A bit worrying that they thought no one would notice!
