Gosh@Carillion01! Only allowed out for 1 hour...here we have to queue for as long as that to just get inside the supermarket or pharmacist!

Thank you for the hugs and flowers - they are much appreciated.
The vet has kept Dexter in as he would not let them near his eye. They are going to sedate him so they can have a good look and see what is going on. He may then be referred to another specialist vet. Chow chows do not respond well to anaesthetic because they are short nosed and have breathing difficulties so hoping he is okay.

dragonfly, I hope the vet is a bearer of good news. I'd hug you for real if I could ((hugs)).
I have handled money once during this lockdown, when my sadly departed friend's SiL did shopping for us. Fortunately the notes were brand new from "the hole in the wall". The change, not much of it, was put in an envelope and my WP decanted it into a glass and put it to one side. I've no idea what cash is left in the house , perhaps I'll check but none of it is much use at the moment anyway.

dragonfly I feel so sorry for you. To be responsible for your own pet is one thing but having to look after someone else’s dog who is ill must be worrying. Do hope news from the vet is better.

I pay for everything I can with Paypal - even the shopping. I somehow feel safer.

Taking Dexter to the vet later so hoping for better news although he is still trying to scratch his eye. I realised at the weekend that if my SiL (dog's owner) were to walk through the door I would burst into tears. The strain is getting too much at the moment.

We did pay the gardener with real money, put it in an envelope, retreated, then he picked it up.
I presume he then laundered it!
This new money washes quite well.

We're keeping a list of what we owe the neighbour.

I haven’t handled money for at least 5 weeks. Online shopping is of course paid online by card , anything else is by bank transfer (like the shopping I get for my neighbour along with my own.
I honestly have no idea what is in my purse at the moment - but hope it’s all still there. If I were to go into a shop I would use contactless as we are asked to.

Just before lockdown, my daughter's works canteen stopped taking money and made payment a card transaction only. Shops here are also encouraging customers to use cards.
My neighbours and I are working a barter system.
Recently I gave my neighbour a bottle of wine in return for a loaf and two pints of milk! I think she got the better deal!

And I'm sick of handling "filthy lucre"!
