Walking more, rather than using the car. Recycling everything i can.
i'm a keen recycler and instead of throwing away left over food, I take it over to a neighbour who lives on his own and lives on benefits. he is always appreciative. I am talking about good food that is left over from a meal, that I know no one will eat the next day.
recycling of household waste.
Recycle as much as I can and both buy and donate to charity shops. I also try and buy food that is as local as is possible. Don't use water hose or any pesticides in garden and also have butterfly and bee friendly plants. Intending to have a small wild flowers corner. Also have hedgehog doors in fences and a thatched hedgehog home just in case.
Saving things to reuse in the future rather than throwing them away just because it's more convenient
I try and persuade my adult kids to join me in measures like saving water, recycling/reusing containers, etc
I try to recycle/reuse everything I can.
I dont waste food I keep a check on dates and freeze where & when needed.
I walk a lot.
Any unwanted items are put on freegle for others to make use of.
I enjoy reworking an old item to make something different.
A little imagination goes a long way.
Compost everything compostable,to use in the garden,All lightbulbs energy efficient,All clothes donated to charity when they are no longer needed,Books go to Oxfam book shops,Reuse all plastic bags which they deliver the shopping in and the list goes on.
Recycle everything I can. Use silicone reusable freezer bags instead of single use plastic bags. Green energy.
I buy local and cook in batches. I donate clothes and any unused items to charity. My family have reduced all presents to either home made, food or from charity shops, unless something specific is needed.
Reduce food waste by freezing fresh items. We walk to the local shops now to buy what is available when possible. Re use hessian, canvas bags for shopping.
Try to not buy anything in plastic.
I have dug over my garden to grow vegetables and left a wildflower border for bees and insects. I am cutting down on meat and experimenting with vegetarian food.
I've always been a bit of an eco-warrior to be honest, for many years, and I continue to try and reduce plastic use and food waste, I recycle clothing and other items and upcycle furniture where I can; I've never driven so will always enjoy huge walks both for pleasure and necessity - lots of little things I hope make a small contribution. I also don't flush the loo for every wee to save water!
recycle, less waste, use up any food left overs - reduce food waste, i am vegetarian have been for 45+ yrs, hubby is very eco aware as his company supply green heating systems like heat pumps, so he is mega on the ball eco warrior!
We recycle everything we can. Unwanted / outgrown clothing is taken to the charity shop or passed down to friends & family. All light bulbs are energy efficient. We eat more meat free meals & walk more & use the car less. Washing is done on a low temperature cycle & hung outside to dry. Bee & butterfly friendly seeds planted. Grandchildren encouraged to help the environment.
Recycle, recycle....from kitchen, food, rain and kitchen water, laundry, paper, garden, bottle, plastic container, shopping bags, the list goes on. But I am glad to do it for the health of our people, country and the world
I recycle everything possible. When I buy loose vegetables I never use the plastic bags to reduce plastic packing.
Water saving is really important. I’ve got a gadget in the toilet cistern that reduces consumption, take quick showers - never
baths. Washing machine is always full load. The large water butt catches rainwater off the roof for garden watering.
I recycle just about everything.
Walk more as don’t drive.
Grow more vegetables when I can.
Oh and of course, reuse shopping bags over and over again.
I recycle what you can recycle eating less meat and buy recycled clothes as well as donating my clothes
Like everyone else I am buying less "stuff" now and during the lock down had a clear out which all went to the charity shop. I now seem to have no desire to go shopping, for a start I want to wear a mask as little as possible and without being able to try clothes on I have no desire to buy and then have to take them back if they don't fit. I have always been a veggie so the meat issue is not one of my sins! I do like my holidays but I don't drive or own a car so I figure maybe one cancels out the other?
We have an electric, fly once a year, of at all, eat less meat, use public transport, compost our food waste.
I try to walk if practical rather than take the car. I've cut down on food wastage and everything that can be recycled is. I no longer buy carrier bags, always take my own with me.
I'm a stickler about recycling and massively trying to reduce by single use plastic usage. Also been getting involved with Extinction Rebellion protests calling for greater government legislation to help reduce climate change
We recycle everything possible and grow as much fruit and veg as we can in our garden to reduce our carbon footprint.
Buying less clothes and clearing out current ones and donating them to charity. More conscious of recycling.
I have been a vegan for more than 20 years, cook everything from scratch, and use seasonal & local fruit & veg whenever possible. I have signed-up for a fruit and veg box containing only 'wonky' produce, or things no longer needed by shops/restaurants as their customers are fewer and they have cancelled their orders.Last year I made the decision never to fly again, which was hard, as it means I will never see my brother again.I don't have a garden, but grow tomatoes and runner beans in my tiny back yard.I have very little waste, but recycle everything I can.I am of the 'if you're cold put a jumper on' generation, rather than use heating, and only flush the toilet when absolutely necessary!I am still wearing clothes bought 30 years ago!
