You couldn't get away with it now, but it was making and playing with 'throwing arrows' with my friends roam the woods and fields.

Making cakes and fancy biscuits for sale to my friends the customers in a den with lots of colours, choices and fancy shapes! Granted the base was usually old bricks or stones/pebbles etc. I used mud, twigs, berries, leaves and an assortment of wild flowers and petals for decoration and colour! The children loved it! ?

I loved playing elastic twist with friends and if I was on my own I put it around the dining chairs and played on my own I loved it - easily pleased.

Sledging down the nearby hill in the winter with my Dad and then hot chocolate at home afterwards.

Playing Monopoly with the whole family, I was losing badly and I remember my grandpa surreptitiously passing me some of his cash under the table. It still makes me smile.

All the children that lived in the street used to be outside playing every day. We used to play marbles, hide and seek, rounders and used to go on 'adventures' to other streets to meet up with other children. As I live in Wales there was always lots of fields to play in and have picnics too. Sadly all the fields have now gone.

We used to play Monopoly all the time for hours on end, it was always great fun and I still love playing it today.

Playing with Fuzzy Felts

I loved the Magic Robot game so much my ex found a vintage one online and made personal question and answer sheets for me. It's fabulous!

Two baller! Bouncing two balls against the wall in the back street, with or without a friend sliding in and taking over the complicated moves. 6er, 5ser, 4ser, 3ser, etc. Over arm, under arm, under left leg with a bounce on the ground, under right leg... would love to still have the balance and dexterity!

My favourite time as a child was when Dad would read Wind in the Willows to me. Always felt very special to me.

Playing Ludo, the only board game the whole family would sit down to play.

Making dens in the local park

Building treehouses in my grandmother's apple tree. I could always climb higher than my sister so took every opportunity to get as high as I could to build my treehouse! Spent many an afternoon up there munching on apples ..not so sure about the subsequent tummy ache though ;)

I loved Fuzzy Felt

Monopoly, the original version with the wooden houses and metal movers. A game with the family could last for hours but no one would want to quit because we were all so competitive!

As a tomboy, besides climbing trees, I loved making working models with Meccano (especially once I had a clockwork motor), assembling Airfix kits, and best of all, making balsa wood planes. A twisted rubber band attached to the propellor
meant they actually flew!

I lived in Singapore as a child and we went up to Frasers ####





Aged 11, I was in a "gang" of 4 girls and 3 boys from our village school and we played together almost every day. One day we decided to play hide and seek - girls against boys. We lived on a new build site and the girls decided to hide in a garage. It had hinged doors and as we crept inside a breeze block which had been propped up against the door fell back into place and trapped us. We were there for ages, shouting and screaming for help and when it got dark we were all well past our home times. Luckily the boys did not give up on us and eventually found us and set us free (the payment was a kiss each from each of us!) I had never been so pleased to see anyone in my life and willingly paid my dues! Even better, my parents never found out about it! They just accepted whatever excuse I must have given them (or maybe they were just so pleased to see me they really didn't care about the excuse!)

Playing Monopoly with my brother and my parents, sometimes it would go on for days, we would leave it on the dining room table and continue where we left off the next day.We were all very competitive and would write on the inside of the box the date and who won and how much money they had when they won. We still look at those results now and reminisce
