The long summers, I can remember going down the local park with the river running through, my sister's and I used to put our skirts into our knicker's wade into the water ( in the shallow bits) and catch the tiny fish and tadpoles, putting them in a jam jar and carrying them home, to the horror of our mother, We loved our little adventures with a bottle of water and some jam sandwiches.
