Being outside with the other children in the village on our bikes or making imaginary games in the field. Always had a bat and a ball.

Going on very basic camping holidays with just a old car battery for a light and a long walk for a bag of chips.

Going to my grandmother's for the six weeks summer holidays and being spoilt rotten I saw loads of places in Wales we would take a packed lunch and just roam sun sea rain or mountains on a bus. Good times.

Walking to the park with my baby brother - first of all in his pushchair and then with him holding my hand. Reading all the house names on the 'posh' houses we passed by and making up stories to keep him occupied. Then spending time playing on the swings, slides, and 'bobbies hat' before the uphill journey home.

Similar to others, I loved building jumps and then being a horse, taking part in competitions with my friends.We also the same for our bikes and raced, timing each other.

use to love the fair we would walk to and spend most of the day there, also making mud pies in my friends garden pretending to be witches those were the days.

Loved being outside: playing with friends on our bikes and building dens on the local building site; playing with our dog in the garden, and when no-one else was around I'd play for hours on my garden swing . Happy Days!

Playing marbles

Building jumps in the garden with garden canes, deckchairs, wheelbarrows and anything else I could find. Then pretending I was riding round Hickstead or the Badminton Horse Trials!

When I was a young girl, I lived in sunny California where I enjoyed trips to the beach. I loved to collect shells, make sand castles, paddle etc.
Given half the chance and warm weather, I'd still enjoy doing the same now!

I use to try to catch sand lizards in the nearby field. Never did because they were too quick.

Hopscotch - I could play this for hours with my friends and I am looking forward to playing it with my grandchildren although I suspect I will be a bit slower than before!

My mother would say getting mucky, but I used to love making a tent with the wooden clothes horse and pretending to be camping with all my teddies and dolls

Looking for crabs under rocks and in small pools of seawater at the beach with my fishing net and a jam jar we always got the small ones then after the picnic had to return them to the water

Climbing trees in Brazil!

we loved climbing trees, now health and safety would be all over it, we enjoyed it so much

cycling, would go for miles with my friends to the woods, the beach, river path

Roller skating or playing gutters

I remember always playing Chinese Skipping, where two people had elastic going round them and you had certain moves to do, as the more moves the elastic went higher and higher

I lived in Australia as a child right on the beach with Sand dunes. My brothers and I would spend countless hours on bits of board flying down the dunes. we had so much fun and still talk about it now almost 50 years later.
