It's that time of year again - and the launch of our Best reads for Christmas. Over £500 of fantastic books, fiction and non-fiction, great gift ideas for family and friends (and yourself - goes without saying)
Aaaaand - one very lucky person can win all the books featured on the page. To enter simply tell us what's on your Christmas wish list (it can be absolutely anything)
We will be picking a winner at random on 14 December - more details on the page
Lots of books is what I always wish for but also my vain wish is that they can find a cure for cancer, I have met some lovely brave people over the last few years and I have learned that cancer is more treatable than ever but we still need a cure. Vain hope I know it. My other wish is that my little dgd gets all on her pressy list without bankrupting mum and dad lol
socks - some warm, some woolly, some plain, some patterned and definitely some multi-coloured ones...but most of all for someone to explain how come all socks wear out at the same time?!
Last Christmas my father took ill with pancreatic cancer so did his brother and 2 sisters. We have had an horrendous time. All I want is to get my dad home out of hospital so we can give him his best last Christmas ever. I want us all to get through the day without tears and my mum to be reunited with the only love in her life. I do not go out partying or anything but I do love reading. It sounds a lame answer me wanting books but I love reading and do a lot of it whilst sitting about in different wards or day units of the hospital. This isn't me asking to win the price really it's me sending out a wish and a prayer that this will be our happiest Xmas day ever . I know I have a lot of tears ahead of me but trying to not think about it and lose my thoughts inside my books.
Only one thing I wish for, that my lovely daughter will be well enough to come over from Australia in the Summer with my son-in-law and three grandchildren. I miss them so much.
To have repaired the family split that forces those trying to keep a foot in both camps from walking on eggshells at times. Best wishes to all on Gransnet and those behind the scenes.
Just one thing on my SANTA list this year. A lovely firepit for my garden. I can then wrap up warm with a hot cuppa and read some fabulous books. Bliss
