December's Greatest Lie

Probably a relative loves pickled onions but not as much as the pickled stuff their in and drinks the lot. Gross.

The only supposedly Christmas things I’ve scoffed so far. are 2 big jars of pickled gherkins. TBH I could eat them until the cows come home.
Does that make me weird?

I’m no longer a fan of chocolate at all. OH has bought me three large packets of minced pies. I hate them and they are now out of date. Would love to give them to the birds but the garden is a bit slippery. He’s also bought me muffins which I hate. He loves them but is on the weight loss jab. I do love seafood and curry.

mine is that I won't open the Baileys before Christmas, I have lasted 3 days so far.

Do not fear, most supermarkets are selling Baileys for a mere £10 a litre at the moment so stock up chuck and have. Merry Christmas

Which actually means I'll have to buy another tub to go on my Christmas Eve delivery which won't be on special offer as the original one was so will cost me a few more pounds, or they won't have any left and will substiture it with a jar of pickled cabbage.

I took the precaution of buying 2 tubs of Quality St this year- they were on offer! But although I have resisted so far, at least one will be empty before Xmas Eve 🤣 and the mince pies have already gone. Who knows where!

Not had a mince pie yet despite DH buying them

I’ve got 2 boxes of chocolate mints, one large box of Heroes and a big bottle of Bailies in the house. I’ve had them for ages and they won’t get touched until Christmas Eve. It does help that I’m lactose intolerant so I won’t be having any of them anyway! I buy them for all the visitors that will be staying over the holidays.

I bought two boxes of Mince Pies. One is on the top of the cupboard for Christmas. The other is for eating - now. I know I can resist everything except temptation.

We're home for Christmas this year but going to SIL's for a few days after Christmas and we always take a Mont D'or cheese and a big box of Bendicks chocolate Mints. I haven't bought them yet, although the cheese would be fine (hopefully beautifully ripe and runny) I know the mints would get eaten!

when my children were young,,,still at school, there was a market every friday in the town....weeks before xmas I would buy 3 bars of chocolate ,,big bars , and put them away in a drawer till xmas eve, for their stockings,,,strangely when xmas eve came round, there was still only 3 bars of chocolate, no idea what happened to the rest.

The garage is a good move, as later in the evening is when temptation is greatest here.

I've been very good this year - Christmas chocolates get stored in the garage and it's too cold to be running out there too often!

I'm smiling at the Baileys posts because I bought a bottle today and although I have put it away in the cupboard I fear it will come out shortly. I have a drawer for other goodies - biscuits, chocs etc where I hide things from DH because he has a really sweet tooth and that seems to stop me opening them as well. I blame it all on the time of year with such short days and horrid weather!

I have eaten the mini mince pies, helped by dh, but don't buy the tubs of chocolates because I know we would eat them but then DD said she wanted one of the M & S tins for Christmas so having had to travel some distance to find a shop with them in stock I decided I would have to buy a tin for DH which has now been wrapped but I am sure I will be saving him from himself by eating some.

The diet starts again on the 1st January (not sure which year)!

As for me i have half finished quality st tubs.& finished the iced top mince pies.😐

My DD bought me a shop gift card for christmas (it was what i asked for as she asked what i wanted/needed) but now shes no idea where she hid it.so is buying it again.🙄

Famous Names cherry liqueurs nearly gone (I can eat one at a time.) Pistachio chocs, mmm must buy another.
Determined to not open F/Rocher chocs.
Here's a tip if you like stollen. Scoop out the marzipan and spread it over the cake then you can taste it with each bite ☺️

If you don't have 20+ people around the dinner table you won't have a nice day🤦

I'm very good and won open anything bought for Christmas. Mr Kipling Christmas slices don't count as they are available from September and their vest before dates are well before Christmas. However, hubby has no self restraint so I've got to keep an eye on him 😂

Half way through a box of Lindt truffles, which was bought to be a gift! I’ve managed so far not to start on the Mrs Tilly’s fudge, but if I can possibly manage not to give it as part of a gift, then it’ll be mine!

I have already eaten two slices of Christmas cake. My will power seems to be non existent lately.

I was doing really well until visitors turned up and I was obliged to offer cake. I gave them a generous slice each and a small one for me. But somehow the rest of the cake has disappeared !

I don't have a Christmas tree any more as my two cats enjoy them too much. I have a lovely large lit star that takes up most of my window escorted by two tall nutcracker guardsmen.
