My best present to myself

I find that Ecover oven cleaner does the job and has no nasty chemicals. Smells nice and it's a pleasure using it and I usually don't like cleaning!
I buy it online from Ocado (other shops are available)

That sounds like a perfect present Witzend what a thoughtful husband.
My gift would be complete car clean and valet. Neither of us likes cleaning the car and those services don't exist here in rural France. ( opening for an entrepreneur? )

My favourite present to myself this year has been my lovely little Dolly the basset she has brought so much joy to the house and made me get out more and exercise so two good outcomes for me.

It is a great idea to give a present to yourself. Treats are important! My present to myself was an unnecessary red leather handbag from TK Maxx. I had been in bed with a virus and was feeling really sorry for myself. I get a thrill of guilty pleasure whenever I use my lovely handbag though.

A couple of weeks ago I bought myself a pair of comfy old lady slippers, what bliss! I have been living in them.

I bought two presents for myself this year- I do not think that December is the only month to treat myself. Mine is the Alexa Echo and the other is an Alexa Dot in my bedroom.

Maw that was a bargain price for the oven cleaning- here it is around £90 for one oven, same franchise.

Underfloor heating in the kitchen. It was my husband's idea really but it's made such a difference to somewhere that was always cold.

This has really got me into a bit of self recrimination. I can't think of a single present or self indulgence I want. Pathetic, content, boring or very fortunate? I honestly don't know. It's certainly not sitting comfortably with me. Will continue to peruse.......

Havent bought a present for myself, dont need anything but I will occasionally, when the fancy takes me, treat myself sometime in the year.

I think you took my thread title too literally Nanny41 I didn’t do this as as “present to myself” I don’t need to do that.
I just meant £135 well spent on something which has made me happy.

I have neuropathy in my feet so my treat to myself is a couple of pairs of shoes in Clark’s sale. 2 pairs should have been £160, I got them for £80. Well chuffed.

My boiling water tap is brilliant. I love it. It's by InSinkerator. (Other, miles more expensive, taps are available!)

I paid Ovens-2- new last year to clean mine and my daughter's cookers. They were both like new. I also paid my daughter's cleaner to deep clean my kitchen. I'll do it again soon. It was certainly worth the money for both.

I usually wait until my favourite authors' books are reduced in price before I buy the for my Kindle, but as a special treat I have bought a few at full price and am determined to take my time and enjoy them rather than race to the end to see what happens.

Mawbroon why shouldn't you give yourself 'a present' and in your case one that appears will give you much pleasure long term. I am giving myself a new lawn aerator but waiting until next month , where from the 'horses mouth' learn there will be discounts.

I like cuffs and bracelets. I bought myself a leather cuff from an expensive direct sales company but I beat the catalogue price down by a good bit.

Jane10 - oh my! I just had a look at the Sahara website and even in the sale the prices are way outside my range, but so many of the clothes are in a style I love. Beautiful.

There is/was a Sahara in Guildford and I have a pair of air-force blue bubble linen trousers and a lightweight unstructured jacket in a black/grey random block pattern. A friend used to work in the Guildford branch and bought them at a discount. Most of their stuff is overpriced and unstructured, a bit like Lagenlook.
My best present to myself was giving birth to a baby boy, early on Christmas morning.
Other than that...no, that can't be topped. My children are the best present ever, no matter when they were born.

My best present to myself was the recent purchase of what I consider to be a nice handbag. Yes, I have to admit that it's beige to go with my cardigan! It wasn't 'designer label' or anything but replaces the cheap nasty black one I used previously as a replacement for the one before which got quite shabby. I feel smart whenever I use it plus it holds everything without looking as though it's about to burst at the seams.

I genuinely can't understand all the oven cleaning on here. We've had just three ovens since we set up home over 41 years ago and I have never needed to buy in someone to clean one. In fact, I can't remember the last time I cleaned one myself. I've either got very low standards or we don't cook enough.

I can't regard something like a professional oven cleaning (which we've had, and was great) as "a present to myself". As far as I'm concerned, (I'm a grandma, despite user name) oven cleaning is a "present to the household ". (Whatever size the household may be.) "A present to myself" would be something utterly personal - and for me, me, me!

True David but the satisfaction you get from the present is what counts for me, so my newly surfaced bath and my revamped settee - I'd not thought about an oven cleaner - are just as valid as a personal gift IMO.
