I’ve just been told by my Physio that I have hammer toe on my left foot. I was looking online at things to wear to straighten them. Has anyone experienced this ? I’m being referred to a podiatrist. Thanks

I used to wear a sort of splint on my bent up toe.
It was uncomfortable for me, and I couldn't manage it for more than about half an hour.

If I wore it to bed, I found I'd taken it off in my sleep.

I did look at a splint thing but it didn’t look comfortable.

I meant to say that mine wasn't prescribed.
My mum got it for me from her "betterware" catalogue or something.
The thing with toes is that they're very strong willed, aren't they?
They won't just go where they should be, and insist on going their own way.

I have had an operation on a hammer toe on each foot. They were causing pain in the balls of my feet. Great success , no problems since.

I agree with Nannytopsy but if you decide to have surgery, choose an orthopaedic surgeon who only deals with feet as you will get a better result.
