LadyLFL what a dreadful thing to happen, he must be in great pain. I hope you’re soon safe home,
Good morning everyone from rainy 20° Lancashire.
I’m late today as I have been for blood tests. Just got to wait for the results now.
Wishing you all a good day whatever you’re doing 🌹
Good morning from Sheffield
I’m very late today. I just seem to have been very busy this morning.
Marydoll,I used to have the same reaction to the Dentist’s local anaesthetic injections then one day my heart started racing in the chair. The Dentist said that they add adrenaline to the injections, so he gave me injections that didn’t include the adrenaline part and I’ve been fine ever since.
Lots of people going through things at the moment ,hopefully once we get a bit more manageable weather we’ll all feel a little bit better
Take care everyone
Morning all from the Burns Unit at a hospital in Bristol!
On Monday OH managed to splash quite of lot of drain cleaner onto his arm while unblocking a drain! Hr should have worn longer rubber gloves. He Engage Consulted the GP on Tuesday and she said he should go to A&E. We were at Swindon A&E until 11 pm last night and they said he would have to go to Bristol Burns unit, and that’s where we are. His forearm and hand are covered in 3rd degree burns and is swollen and red.
I might try out my new ice cream machine when we get home.
Have a good day everyone.
Oh, I hope you soon feel much better aggie 😺🤞🐾🐾🐾🐾
Good morning everyone, have a lovely day. Typing quickly because of a flipping annoying pop-up thing! What the eck is that about?
Another one under the weather, take care aggie
That doesn’t sound good aggie wrap up and take it easy.
Good morning all it’s wet and dull here in Co Armagh, my thermostat says it 22 in the living room just now , but I’m feeling really cold
I was poorly yesterday, think I had a temperature, but a couple of paracetamol helped , until it was lunch time and I couldn’t eat anything
Managed to drink and got my tablet down at bed time, had to get up to take paracetamol, water so far today and see how it goes
Hoping for a decent day far all
Good morning, Michael12 and everyone!
I arrived at the Premier Inn yesterday and booked in at 3. Had a couple of pit stops on the drive there.
It's said we all have a twin somewhere, and I swear the woman on reception is Sarah Millican! Might well be!
I went to their restaurant last night and had paprika-roasted cauliflower for starters, chicken katsu curry for main, washed down with a Magners.
I'm now off for charity shop and book shop hunting!
See you all later!
Good heavens, Grammaretto, why should I worry about the amount of books I have!
I share the feelings about Dolly Parton - it’s rare for someone so eminent to be so universally admired. A role model for aspiring stars.
Waiting for the chiropodist and then my balance class which is proving useful. Nothing else planned but the day will unfold and present options, I have no doubt.
Good morning Mick and everybody from sunny Carlisle.
I've just come back from a walk in the park where it was very quiet, even the ducks and swans were mostly dozing.
Great typo, dragonfly, it gave me the first laugh of the morning!
Yesterday was a day of gentle pottering as I am having a flare up of my polymyalgia and have had to up my dose of steroids a bit, when I had been successfully tapering them off. It's disappointing to say the least.
I got some shredding of paperwork done and made another pile of books ready for the charity shop. If you haven't looked at them in 10 years and realistically won't in the next ten, well....
Today, a little cleaning in the kitchen and I might do a bit of gentle gardening. Rain is forecast but seems unlikely.
That's a beautiful coast ginny. You had some good weather.
And wishing you all a good day with rain if needed!
Good morning from a damp and cooler Stockport, the ground is wet so it obviously rained recently.
I am being picked up at 11:15 to go to Manchester for an Echocardiogram, one of the investigations after an ECG earlier in the year.
Then later a plumber is coming to fix a new tap in the kitchen which has broken very suddenly.
I am totally unaware these days about the cost of things, £145 which surprised me., I am pleased that I don’t have emergencies often.
Sorry some of you are under the weather, poor sleep is my biggest concern although I am seeing the physio at my surgery next wee about my knee and hip.
.
I must get on with my day now so I am already when my GD arrives, have the best day you can everyone.
Good morning all, it is 15° C here in Glasgow.
Yesterday, we had a very wet morning, then a hot afternoon, out weather is crazy.
I have had little sleep, after a traumatic experience at the dentist yesterday.
It took three rounds of injections, before my mouth was numb.
My front tooth sheared off during Covid and because I was shielding, it was too risky to remove it.
The dentist at that time had to just put in the crown, without removing the tooth. Yesterday, was the day for removing the remaining part of the tooth, because the gum was inflamed and a third crown or implant wasn't an option.
When the dentist was working on it, it halved inside my gum. The worst part of all was the awful noise.
I did wonder why the nurse and dentist kept wiping my face.🩸🩸🩸
The dental plate was then put over the bleeding gum, but when the dentist asked me to try removing it, I couldn't, due to the very tight fit and my painful wrists. 😪
It was still bleeding, when I got home, despite stopping my blood thinner medication.
The injections always give me a blinding headache, into the bargain.
I have nothing but praise for my dentist and the nurse, they were so professional kind.
Due to my poor health and my medications, my mouth will need to be monitored. No escape from the dentist.
I may have been feeling awful, but I was so hungry, I had lukewarm yuk tomato soup, through a straw. Later, I squashed a Mars Bar and cut it into a millon pieces. It tasted so good!
At bedtime, I was unable to remove the plate and when I did, the bleeding started again. I wish I had remained toothless!!
I have hardly slept, my mouth and face are so painful, combined with my RA pain, I am quite annoyed with my lot in life!😉
There is a bonus: I shall continue my Swedish death clean. I am being ruthless.
I was going to take my wedding fascinators to the charity shop because DIL and her sisters have their own stash and don't want them. However, a parishioner is going to put them on Vinted for me and the proceeds will go to the Restoration fund.
Despite, having a cull, I am expecting delivery today of a pink fur coat. I know, I am mad. My excuse, it was half price, with an additional 20% off. DH shook his head, when I told him. 🤭
Where I will hang it, is another matter. 😊
There are winter pansies lying, so I plan to plant them, once I come to. Salmon en croûte for dinner, it is soft!
Madeleine, you are certainly having a time of it! ♥️
Ekwanimitee and Roses, I have a Pringles addiction and DD is always telling me that I won't lose weight, unless I give them up. No chance.
I will pass the tip on to DH, once I finish the current box. Sadly, not today, soft food only.😁
R&L, good luck today!
I hope you feel better Greyduster.
Grammaretto, my previous two houses looked exactly, like the one your are planning to buy!
Have a pleasant day, folks.
Not had time to catch up but just wanted to say such a "serendipity" moment when the weather man said that in the naming of storms as they do, the next storm coming is called "Dolly"
Good morning from a dull and cloudy Black Country, where it is starting to rain. Yay!
Spent a lovely day yesterday. Met DS at a pub near his workplace for lunch and a chat, catching up on the family news.
Then on the way home popped into Merry Hill shopping centre, bought two T-shirt vest tops (half price in sale), blue trousers and a lovely top to go with it.
So saddened to hear the News on the radio about Dolly as we were eating dinner. Thank you for the wonderful music Dolly.
No real plans today, so go with the flow.
Wishing you all the best day possible
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
The forecast says warm and sunny so why isn't it!
The book charity man came yesterday and spent 3 hours cherry picking books he liked.
Unfortunately my table where a lot have been spread out, looks much the same. 😟
I put in an offer for the house viewed twice but haven't heard if it's been accepted. It's not like on the Tele 🤣😂
Physio appointment this morning, then yarn group, community lunch and getting my "showroom" ready for open studios this weekend.
I'm sad about Dolly too. She was my DSis twin who shares her birthday, energy and zest for life though nothing else.
I have a DGD and a GN at Newcastle university Harrigran . My DGS1 is about to start at St Andrews and 2 GNs are going to Bristol.
I hope your medication works well Madeleine and Rosesandlilac your test results are OK 🤞
Have a good day everyone.
I lost my post 😞 suffice to say have a decent day all.
Haha Monk I will try not to!
dragonfly hope you are not eating friends😂
Good morning everyone from Lancashire.
Sorry you're still not feeling great, Greyduster. It's miserable feeling out of sorts.
You sound a bit more like your old self, Madeleine. Enforced paperwork clearing is what I need. I'm still sorting through papers of my Mum's 2 years after she died.
Glad you had a good day at RHS Bridgewater, Gelissa. Last time we were there some of the trees were looking very weather stressed. The traffic is a bugger though, no matrer how you try to time it!
DH is working from home today so we need to keep out of his way.
We may pop down to church this morning to drop off some items I've been making for the Autumn Fair.
This afternoon we'll probably go to the library.
What bonny grandchildren, Glammagran. 😍
We were saddened to hear of Dolly Parton's passing too. One of the commentators on the news last night described her as "whip smart" which I thought was lovely. I thought the family member's tribute to her was lovely too.
Wishing you all the best day possible. 🌻
Good morning from an overcast Leicestershire.
We are expecting rain later.
Yesterday had my hair cut popping into- a little too short but it will grow.
Today we are eating friends for coffee at the local Heritage Centre.
Then Ocado delivery and the plumber is coming to fix the flush on the downstairs toilet that the cleaner broke!
Lovely picture Glammagran.
I too was shocked and saddened by the death of Dolly Parton. She was an amazing woman.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.
Good morning everyone from a cloudy and dull Northampton; supposed to be raining by now, but no sign of it.
Had a pleasant walk yesterday, apart from the buses messing me around, so I could not meet the group at the usual place. I had to get a different bus and meet up with the group partway through the walk. We did a shortened route because of the warm weather, and were ready to sit down with a drink afterwards.
When I got home I decided to do the small bit of ironing - 2 pairs of shorts, 2 t-shirts, 2 pairs of cropped trousers and a dress. I thought about fetching my new dress down and shortening it, but decided to leave it for another day.
Made a pea and ham soup for dinner and have a second portion in the fridge, but may not need it today as I shall be out for a meal.
My ladies' wine club are meeting up for our summer lunch; we have booked at a restaurant/bar called The Picturedrome, which used to be an old cinema, and have had to pre-order our food as we are a large group; hoping it's as good as it sounds! Can 't decide what to wear as the weather also cannot make up its mind!
Wishing all a pleasant cooler Wednesday.
Good morning from sunny Suffolk although rain and storms are forecast later. So far they have passed us by. I hope so as my dear friend is having a party at her home fund raising for the NSPCC.
She has invited about 30 friends and intends to have drinks in her garden before an early supper indoors. As most are 80+ she thinks people will want to get home before dark so a start at 4pm with an expected finish around 8pm suits us fine.
I hope all have a good day. I’m about to enjoy another cuppa and read your posts.
