The other day I had to contact a charity for a vulnerable person. It was to ask for support for this person's illness which has been diagnosed. The lady (?) who answered the phone was very abrupt like those officious types in a business office. She asked why I was phoning, did the person really have the illness I was calling about as the only supported people with that confirmed illness and, if so, I had better take said person into their office for a meeting. She was very abrupt, used no gentle voice tone and left us feeling very brushed off. So, as it is my new year's resolution to take no prisoners, I wrote them a very stiff email about how they treated fragile and vulnerable people and that their employee needed some client training. The next day I phoned again and got a most delightful lady who was very empathic, gave all the right information and said she would help this person herself. Never be afraid to defend the weak and vulnerable.
