Carrier Bag Charges: a "Percentage Will Go To Good Causes"

Really? Or so we were informed when the charging strategy was introduced, way back, but I'm not convinced.

I believe we've been hoodwinked. Again.

I draw attention to this because the charges for carriers at certain supermarkets have crept up to the 50p mark.

Which "good causes" benefit? It's a fairly vague statement.
