I know how you feel, Whitewavemark2. My Dh mislaid his car, house and garage keys. We searched high and low with no luck. We knew they must be somewhere around because the car was here, but in the end I thought maybe he’d accidentally dropped them into the wheelie bin when throwing something away, or gone down a nearby drain.
I set about getting replacements and because it’s an automatic garage door, that was nearly as expensive as the car key, plus the inconvenience of having to find the car V5 before the garage would replace the key! It cost about £500, all told.
Fast forward a year to this spring and my Dh has now sadly died. I was going through some of his stuff, opened a backpack he used on trips away and there were the keys! I said a few choice words about that, hoping they reached him wherever he is! 🤯
