I had the youngest DGC plus the other DGP for tea yesterday. We had a very nice time. I brought out old photo albums to amuse us. Likenesses were noted. 😆

Nothing much planned today besides an exercise class. There's always admin to catch up with.

Good luck with the tree app FGT Despite my regular foraging walks with a Botanist I get my Alders mixed up with Hazels .

I hope Marydoll and her DH have had a much better weekend health-wise .

Good morning, it’s bright and sunny here on the hillside in south Glos, fluffy white clouds drifting across the sky as I sit in bed with my coffee.
I finished sorting out the bedroom yesterday morning, I’m pleased with it, there are three bags of things for the charity collection on Wednesday.
DH picked the blackberries yesterday, precariously balanced on a ladder, so I need to do something with them today. I didn’t get round to baking yesterday so that’s for this morning.
More sorting out today, the bathroom cabinet next!

Good morning all from a cloudy Morecambe Bay. It’s set dry till later when there’s a 50% chance of light rain.
Yesterday DH managed to fix the toilet much to his relief. The washer wasn’t seated correctly in the new valve. U tube to the rescue! Despite there being several videos of the initial problem, only one pointed out the need to check the position of the washer. DH was so relieved, he thought he was losing the plot!
Today I shall work in my clients garden and DH will check the grass for another lady when I get back. I suspect I’ll have more work to do than him. The weeds in my garden had a field day while we were away, despite there being none to see before we went. First we will walk the two dogs in the woods. I say walk. Crazy dog will run free and chase up and down while Son’s dog will trot by my side on a lead except when he stops to sniff every blade of grass.

Good morning everyone from another bright and 🌞 Northampton day; should be a bit cooler.today - time to get a few jobs done around the house. No yoga today as our teacher is on holiday.

I very much enjoyed The Odyssey yesterday and the nearly three hours passed by quickly. Penelope was just as I had imagined her, strong, faithful and loyal.

Both cats had a day of eating almost normally yesterday, but this morning one has turned her nose up again...

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk after a welcome cooler weekend.

A get together with a friend for Thursday has been rearranged for today and we’ll meet in a little town west of both of us avoiding the hordes departing from Latitude and the closure of roads around here till mid afternoon.

Gingster the refuse collection around here has been dreadful,at least 1 bin missed each week and food caddies not collected for 2 consecutive weeks. We stopped using ours until a reliable service is in place, although we have little food waste.

The problem appears to be widespread in East Suffolk according to the local papers.

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. Broken cloud with a pleasant breeze at the moment, with another warm day forecast. We did have a short shower yesterday morning which may have settled the dust for a while but it soon dried. I still had to water the little plants in the front garden, they’re surviving rather than thriving. The French beans in their trough seem to have come to the end of their productive lives, so I’ll pull them out soon. No room for anything else in the garden waste bin until it’s emptied this week.

Nothing much planned for today, another trip to the garden centre for more ericaceous compost for the pieris that I repotted last week and to top up the compost in the camellias in huge pots.

bellasnana you will enjoy your weekly sleepovers with your DGSs and they will have such happy memories!

jaxjacky I hope that your consultant is able to give you some reassurance regarding your hip pain and hope it won’t involve more surgery!

Thinking of all those who are struggling at the moment, either with health or other worries or with the heat which continues in the south.

Good morning and the sun is out. First lot of
washing in the line. I had to refresh it as I’d left it in the machine overnight .

Yesterday was busy with the family here. The older GC were otherwise engaged but there were still 11 of us here. Lovely to see them and a lot of chat and noise. A bit too much for Dh but he survived.
DS1 took my car to take gd1 and 6 home but broke down ! On a roundabout! 😳. It’s never broken down before. Probably because it hasn’t been used. He had to get a recovery to pick him and it up, so it’s back on our drive. Going in for a service on Thursday, so I’ll need to make a phone call. .

Went to put the food bin out for collection this morning. Full of maggots. I leave it outside with the bins so I must bring it in .
I always double wrap everything but the heat obviously got to it. Yuk! I spent a good half an hour hosing and cleaning with bleach.

Today I have Chimes, so I’ll catch the bus there. I might get a lift back but only if someone is heading this way. The busses are quite frequent.

Back to make some phone calls - estate agents, solicitor and garage. 😤.

Karma I plan to water the roses bushes early each morning this week and then as necessary . I will get a water meter to check the soil, thank you a helpful tip. We did have a short half hour rain shower yesterday morning early but the ground is so very dry.

We had a nice relaxing weekend doing not a lot.
Tomorrow I'm going to stay at DD2's for a few days to mind my 8 year old DGD whilst she is at work.
Today will spent on club admin and packing.

Good morning from sunny W Kent. Today DGS2 is bringing his intended to stay, so there will be 7 in the house she is a lovely girl and we have met her once before. The rest of the family haven’t and she will meet them tomorrow. Booked to eat out tonight.

Good morning from a bright and sunny Torbay. I believe they had a few spots of rain in Paignton yesterday.

I enjoyed the church service and I’ve been asked to play the piano for four Sundays in August as the regular organist will be away. This is just for the early service at 9.30.

Yesterday’s rehearsal went well and there are three more this week. If the set is finished we should be on stage by Wednesday. We open on 10th August for a two week run. A busy time ahead!

Your DGD1 has done well to land a job in a village school which I’m sure she’ll enjoy, Gagagran.

GrannyIvy I rescued some new blackberry plants, had to plant them two weeks ago. Gave then a whole can of water each 4 days ago and topped with a thick layer of strulch. I also used a water meter to check the ground below, it is clay and damp enough for roots to grow and seek water

Good Morning everyone from a sunny central south coast. We had a real treat of some rain yesterday - not a lot but very welcome all the same. I love that scent from the garden after a shower. No more on the forecast but hopefully they prove to be wrong! (It does happen).

Today I plan to do the ironing and give DH the haircut I promised him yesterday, but failed to provide. Nothing much else but things have a habit of cropping up.

Tomorrow DGD1 is coming to see us now that term has ended and she will tell us all about her first full time job, teaching year 4s in her village school. We plan to walk across the road to our lovely cafe/restaurant for lunch, where they have vegan alternatives for her.

Good morning from a bright sunny Cambridgeshire. I’ve been quiet recently as been a busy time with family issues and now into week two of the summer holidays. My DGD2 is doing a dance week 9,30 to 4,30 every day this week and the little one now 7 is looking fwd to some time without his bossy big sister! We are invited to a BBQ at their house today late afternoon.

I am very consumed by my garden trying to keep the many flowers alive during a current hosepipe ban . I put two new rose bushes in yesterday and hoping they will thrive. Today I’m meeting two friends for brunch at the garden centre and a catch up chat. We are nearly into August the summer is rushing by.

I read of all the decluttering and busyness of many of you and I confess I am only doing the bare necessary indoors as my garden and getting out in the lovely weather takes priority. However I did manage to tidy and reorganise the shed yesterday!

We had a successful lunch with friends yesterday and also face timed the other couple. Very pleased to have found accommodation for next years joint holiday, exactly what we wanted.
Not much happening today, a few bits and bobs and we ‘ll see how it pans out and what we feel like doing.

Good morning from another cooler Black Country.

Yesterday we had a day out in Worcester, walk by the river, lunch in a cafe with a lovely shaded outdoor area, and a peruse in a couple of charity shops where I bought a Wallis dress for £7.50. They originally charged £15 bit it was half price. Original price label was still on at £45! Bargain. The weather was ideal, cloudy with sunny intervals, still fairly warm.

Train tickets were not checked at all on the train there and back, and there is no barrier in Worcester or Stourbridge. No wonder some people try and get away with not paying.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire where it’s heating up again.

I popped into Oxford yesterday and returned a dress to White Stuff. All I bought was a black soap dish from John Lewis.

I spent several hours cutting out over 100 14 cm squares for the patchwork I’m hoping to do. I had forgotten I had a fabric stash right at the back of the under stairs cupboard.

OH will visit his bees today. He is checking for what bug they may have. Our cleaner is coming and I need to do a Waitrose shop.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where we have sun and light cloud. No idea whether it rained in the night.

I picked, washed and froze just over two and a half pounds of blackberries yesterday. I wasn’t expecting to find any and most of them were small but I found some that were a decent size and they will keep me going through the winter for puddings. They are usually a tasty reminder of summer sunshine but maybe this year we will not want to be reminded of it!

Gym this morning and maybe a stroll round one of my favourite parks while I’m over that side of town.

We are up early as DH has an appointment at 8am to get the air con in our 'baby' car sorted. I have the last Carer Learning session of this batch. The last for a while i suspect.

We went to the Marina yesterday but were a bit disappointed - apart from the fact that it rained (!!) it wasn't quite what we were expecting.
