Good morning from another cooler Black Country.

Yesterday we had a day out in Worcester, walk by the river, lunch in a cafe with a lovely shaded outdoor area, and a peruse in a couple of charity shops where I bought a Wallis dress for £7.50. They originally charged £15 bit it was half price. Original price label was still on at £45! Bargain. The weather was ideal, cloudy with sunny intervals, still fairly warm.

Train tickets were not checked at all on the train there and back, and there is no barrier in Worcester or Stourbridge. No wonder some people try and get away with not paying.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire where it’s heating up again.

I popped into Oxford yesterday and returned a dress to White Stuff. All I bought was a black soap dish from John Lewis.

I spent several hours cutting out over 100 14 cm squares for the patchwork I’m hoping to do. I had forgotten I had a fabric stash right at the back of the under stairs cupboard.

OH will visit his bees today. He is checking for what bug they may have. Our cleaner is coming and I need to do a Waitrose shop.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where we have sun and light cloud. No idea whether it rained in the night.

I picked, washed and froze just over two and a half pounds of blackberries yesterday. I wasn’t expecting to find any and most of them were small but I found some that were a decent size and they will keep me going through the winter for puddings. They are usually a tasty reminder of summer sunshine but maybe this year we will not want to be reminded of it!

Gym this morning and maybe a stroll round one of my favourite parks while I’m over that side of town.

We are up early as DH has an appointment at 8am to get the air con in our 'baby' car sorted. I have the last Carer Learning session of this batch. The last for a while i suspect.

We went to the Marina yesterday but were a bit disappointed - apart from the fact that it rained (!!) it wasn't quite what we were expecting.

I’m awake early too fgt, no reason really but I’ve made a cuppa and come back to bed. I’ve a bit of food shopping to do this morning, maybe a trip to the garden centre cafe and then nothing much on until I’m out to line dancing this evening

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where currently it’s 14°C with clouds. 20°C will be our high.

No idea why I’m awake so early. I’ve been internet scrolling looking up for a free app to recognise trees I’m so rubbish apart from the very obvious ones. Anyway I responded to a pop up request and have just donated to Wikipedia.

I’m being picked up at 9:30am for breakfast at our lovely very local garden centre by my (wingman) brother in law and his wife. I haven’t seen them since before going out to Málaga. I love their company (both 80 next year) and the way he keeps in regular contact. “Himself asked me to watch over you. He asked me in the hospice and I told him it’d be our pleasure.” Such good souls.

I think I might snuggle back onto the pillows. This is too early acstart to my day! Another hour and a half hopefully 🤞

Good morning from Sheffield
I have my mammogram 3 year check up today. It’s at a hospital the other side of town so I will go on the bus. It takes a while but parking is a nightmare there.
Then I’m having my toenails smartened up after tea.

We had a lovely walk yesterday down the side of an old disused canal. Finding the little bits of long gone industry was very interesting. Apparently the canal is in the process of being opened up and reused but there’s a long way to go yet. I’m wondering how it will work as some of the canal is now in peoples back gardens.

I forgot to check the GM thread this morning! I was busy trying to make head or tail of the various bits of news on the Beeb website.
DS is 48 today. The headline in the papers was the birth of Louise Brown. So exciting.
Quiet day, yesterday. I am making a b/w quilt and have finished the patchworking, it’s now the boring assembling; so many pieces to cut out x backing, lining, sashing, edging…
More of the same today; no Tesco, my neighbour is in York, staying with her DD.
This afternoon, I have a follow up dermatology appointment.
Enjoy your “smalls”, bellas. They become hulking, great lumps so quickly.
And, ld1963, carry on your wonderful task of looking after little chap.

Good morning from s somerset, Cloudy today I hope

My sewing room is finished and de-cluttered as much as possible, there is a visible difference. I can see it making old age easier for me, which has been my aim. The dining table extension is retracted and everything has been put away. Roomba cleaned the floor and I will mop that today. Kitchen/diner looks normal now

I am off early to get my car serviced and mot, two walks for me today so I am glad of the cloud cover

I quickly made a toile t shirt from a new pattern, my favourite brand. I made short but it is a bit too short. I am going to rescue it and make a band for the bottom. It did its job anyway, all I needed to do was change from short to longer, this one gives me enough body space. I have been searching for a favourite t shirt pattern, and I think I found it

I need to water the essential veg in my garden now and pick some seasonal produce for today

Good morning everyone from a cold, damp Lancashire. Our garden is loving the rain.

I didn't get round to posting yesterday as we were hectic, but I have had a catch up read.

The day began with an impromptu visit from the little chap's social worker while we were having breakfast! Although we have Special Guardianship, she is still involved to help support him and us through the transition from kinship fostering.
Most visits are by appointment, but they can be unannounced too.

Later we went to church. It was good to catch up with folks as we've been away in Anglesey at weekends a lot recently. There have been 2 bereavements in the church family while we've been away. I sent condolence cards, but it was good to have the opportunity to speak to the recipients in person.

After lunch we were supposed to meet the little chap's parents at RHS Bridgewater for their monthly contact time but the rain meant they came to our house instead.
It wouldn't have been much of a contact visit, if he'd been stuck under his pushchair rain cover.
It's his Dad's birthday in August so we'll try to go to Bridgewater then. We love it there. It's a beautiful oasis within minutes of the busy M60.

Not sure what we'll do today. After a busy day, I try to give the little chap space to play with his toys.
DH is in the office.
There's a pile of ironing that I'll start when he has his nap.

Good morning Mick and others from Polmont where it's currently 10° and the sun is coming up. Blue skies too.
Yesterday was a quiet day once dgs2 went home. He ate continuously until his dad picked him up! Dgs1 came and was very cuddly. He was going to his first ever Rangers football match and, by the photos, had a good time with his dad and grandad. I had a very bad night's sleep last night so I'm out of sorts today.
Early childcare day today. We are going to Stirling mid morning to see ds. There's a play park in a park near to him which we will visit then go to his house for lunch before heading back home. After that, dgs1 has football training then dd will pick up dgs2. So a busy day ahead. Have a good day all.

Good morning from Malta where we expect a sunny, windy day with a high of 32° (38° real feel)

I had a lovely surprise yesterday when the doorbell rang and there was DGS1 with two new dinosaur books tucked under his arm. They had been to the book fair, DGS2 had been cranky and had fallen asleep in the car and his brother said he wanted to come to me.

We had a lovely afternoon together, he’s such a placid little boy, the polar opposite of his brother!

When she picked him up I asked DD3 if we could make a weekly sleepover a regular routine and she was only too happy to agree! It will give me something to look forward to plus, I hope, the boys will remember how much their Nana loved them once I’m no longer around.

I’m having Milo dog today but need to go to Lidl at some point. Hoping my car will start as it has been tucked away in the garage for two weeks!

I have a doctor’s appointment this afternoon but I will walk up to the village for that.
