Good morning from Stockport, once again wall to wall blue sky and sunshine.
Yesterday was a day of two halves.
My GD and her BF heard everything is go for their move, they exchanged contracts and complete on Monday, should have been Friday but the seller is on holiday until Saturday.
They are so excited but my GD who was, and still is unwell, got overtired with plans and getting time off work and snapped at me which I did not take well and we had words, we were both upset and haven’t resolved it yet.
Then I found out that the “friend” I was out with on Monday when I had the unfortunate accident, told two other people about it.
I was incandescent, I just don’t want any more contact with her.

I am having my hair cut at lunchtime, a Sainsbury’s order and then may visit a neighbour, I will wait to hear from her as to her health.

Have the best day you can everyone.
My next year round the sun has not got off to a good start at all.

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey, cool Carlisle where it is about 13°C degrees. I'm hoping for rain but not holding my breath.
Yesterday I tackled my small pile of ironing and cleaned bathrooms. In spite of the chilly stiff breeze it was still too hot to work in the garden so I read...plenty of magazines and my current book to occupy me. Oh, and I checked through one of my food cupboards and unfortunately found a small pack of the best biscuits in the world..which, I confess, no longer exist bar one!

Today I am definitely off to the garden centre as my cabin fever is getting worse! I shouldn't really as I am due free cake as it is my birthday month but who can turn down free cake?
Maybe a walk after lunch to work it off if it hasn't heated up.

Wishing you all the best possible day.

Safe travels FGT and I hope you get home marzipan.
Usual hot weather day yesterday aka not a lot happened. MrJ played bowls in the evening.
Today I must ring my 93 year old uncle for a catch up, last of that generation in my family.
Have a pleasant day all.

Good morning from a cloudy Suffolk where the sun is beginning to break through. The farmers around here are already cracking on with the harvest which seems to get earlier every year. The rape is now done, the barley well under way and D who came to service our boiler yesterday said that they have started on the wheat in fields around him.

Harvest festival services used to be towards the end of Septemberyears ago but, around here, they have crept forward to nearer the beginning of that month. Wonder if they will soon be in August?

I have a full day Teams meeting today so will be indoors til mid afternoon. Luckily the dining room, where I usually sit,is north facing and cool.

Hope all have the best day possible especially those with worries or ill health.

Forgot to mention that our eldest granddaughter got her mock A Level results yesterday - A* in History, politics and Psychology. Very proud Ma and Pa here.

In other news, Dd3 and family are on holiday in Somerset and Wolfie has an ear infection in both ears.

glammagran Wed 15-Jul-26 07:50:10

Good morning from Wiltshire. It feels a little cooler the last couple of mornings but it was still fiercely hot yesterday afternoon. I was able to tackle the ironing mountain before it got too hot.

A trip to Waitrose this morning. The nearest decent sized one is in Swindon which I prefer to the Marlborough store as it is far more light and airy and easier to get round.

Yesterday DD2 had a her MRI and CTA after her suspected TIA last month. She won’t know the results for a while due to the backlog.

I hope you are able to get the help you very much need RosesandLilac. Your DH will need to do more too. It will be essential you take great care of yourself.

Have lovely holiday in Mallorca Bellasnana. It will be so nice to spend time on a beach with your DGSs.

I’m sure you will be glad to get back to your patio Marzipan.

Have a good day all.

Good Morning everyone from the central south coast where it's breezy still but not as gusty. Supposed to be hot again today so we shall continue to glow no doubt.

DH is out with his cycling club today and, unusually they are having breakfast and lunch out. It is a memorial ride for a member who died too young and left a bequest for his friends to do this.

I shall catch up on my correspondence, including ordering an ecard for my remaining (younger) brother. It feels important that we three siblings left should keep a bit closer contact than distance allows.
His birthday is 19 July and I have vivid memories of that day in 1950 as my beloved cat was run over by the 3.15pm bus, right outside our house. My Mum, in bed in the dining room, where she had given birth to him earlier that day, asked whether I would not rather have a new baby brother than my cat. I said an emphatic "No". (I was 6, almost 7 years old).

Your baking sounds mouth watering GM and I am sure is the big attraction for your FAB cafe sessions.

Safe journey home FGT and Marzipan and anyone else travelling today.

Kind thoughts also to any of our GNs with worries or struggle and hope there is some relief today.

Some people just have to ‘gossip’ uttb don’t they? Upsetting and unsettling for you. I’m sure your spat with your granddaughter will just be a storm in a teacup - you love one another too much to let things fester.

I shouldn’t post early because when I read later I always want to comment and I’ve had ‘my turn’. I need to be more mindful not to monopolise this lovely thread! 🤐

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Such a sunny day yesterday. Can't tell today.

My request for crêpes last night turned into a lovely dinner party until ofcourse the football match was lost to Spain. We had even found the Brittany flag amongst DH collection. The crepes were delicious. My 2 French helpers could be top chefs.

Earlier I drove them to Peebles to look round the sales and to walk - in my case to hobble- along the Tweed. It was so hot we had ice-creams sitting in the secret garden I took them to see the Polish Map at Eddleston on the way home.

I had a chiropractor appointment and think my back is getting a bit better. Must do the exercises.

Today yarn group and another house viewing - locally this time.

Happy birthday. Ginny. I hope you have a lovely time.

Enjoy Mallorca Bellas

I hope some help can be organised for you Rosesandlilac
Wishing everyone a good day.

Good morning everyone from the train down to Edinburgh, I’m having a day out today and meeting up with some lovely friends. A longish day but definitely worth it
Happy Birthday Ginny enjoy your day today and the celebrations at the weekend 🥂💐🎂
Oh uttb so sorry to hear about the upset with your GD and about your friend too. I hope it’s not too long before things are better with your GD, not too sure about your friend, I’d be so upset and angry too
Safe travels fgt and everyone on the move today
Take care all 💐

Good morning from cloudy Leicestershire.

The DH’s scan didn’t go ahead yesterday as his sugars were too high. We have to go back at 7.45 on Thursday morning. His consultant seems to think he will have the result in a couple of days.
Out with friends for coffee this morning.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.

dragonfly46 Wed 15-Jul-26 08:32:44

Happy Birthday ginny.

Greyduster Wed 15-Jul-26 08:37:27

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a cool, overcast South Yorkshire. Bliss! I slept like a top last night; the last couple of days catching up on me I think. Yesterday was my last day in school for this academic year. All the children were in a good frame of mind, excited at the prospect of the long holiday. I’ve decided this year that the four words I most like to hear from them are “what does that mean?”

I had a long catch up with DD last night. SiL and GS are going to the golf open champs at Royal Birkdale today, and again on Saturday. She was going to go with them today but can’t take the time off work. She’s changing her job soon and is working out her notice.

Writers group this afternoon at the library. Our librarian led sessions are always fun.

Kitty well done to your GD on her mock results!

Have the best day you can, folks.

Greyduster Wed 15-Jul-26 08:38:13

Happy Birthday, Ginny 🎂💐

Astitchintime Wed 15-Jul-26 08:38:21

Good morning from the NE Mids. I’m late this morning as I slept in and now have a dreadful headache!
Overcast with a light breeze here this morning and the window cleaner is due any time soon so I had better get a move on.
Nothing in particular planned apart from the usual tidy up etc.
Have a good day one and all!

Georgesgran Wed 15-Jul-26 08:45:43

Good morning from Durham. Another cool, gloomy start but some sun due later and maybe a temperature of 21. I’ve worn my fleece the past 2 nights when walking little dog as it’s been chilly.
I’m meeting two old colleagues for coffee at 10am, but might need to shoot off to DD1’s to wait in for a parcel. It must be important, as she’s taken the morning off work to stay home. Hopefully it’ll be delivered before noon and I won’t be needed. I’ll walk Little Dog before dark and water my tubs and pots - no ban here - our soft water is from Kielder.

Professional help sounds a plan Rosesand. It sounds as if you had a lot to take in and process.
Good luck to our travellers and I’m thinking of our missing posters, esp MD

Best wishes to all. X

Happy Birthday ginny 🎂🥂🍾

BlueSapphire Wed 15-Jul-26 08:52:39

Good morning everyone from a cloudy and windy Northampton. Felt cool just now when I popped out to the garage.

Yesterday morning I forgot that I had planned to defrost the kitchen freezer, so that is happening at the moment- have just emptied it and managed to squeeze everything into the garage freezer. Have left the freezer door open and it won't take long in this weather.

Did two loads of washing yesterday morning which dried quickly - I needed some things doing before my weekend away.

I joined my walking group after lunch, but it was hotter than I thought and I was exhausted from about half way round. I am going to leave off walking till this hot weather has gone.

This morning will be cleaning the kitchen freezer once it has defrosted, then loading it all back up once it has frozen again.
A Sainsbury's delivery over lunchtime, and a gentle afternoon which may include shortening a dress for the weekend; I need to try it on first.

Tuna fish cake and new potatoes for dinner which will be easy to prepare. Plus a nice glass of chilled sauvignon blanc!

Wishing all a cooler pleasant day.

Harris27 Wed 15-Jul-26 09:01:57

Happy birthday ginny have a lovely day whatever you do.🎂🌺

WhiteSwan63 Wed 15-Jul-26 09:04:52

Good morning from a grey east coast. I’m loving the cooler breeze.

Yesterday I visited my uncle at the hospital again. He has such complex care needs now. It’s hard to explain. Mum is back at her holiday home for a couple of weeks but she’s calling the hospital everyday and if we need to be there quickly we can be. We aren’t sure if the care home will accept him back if he needs more medical care so he might have to be moved to a nursing home. He wasn’t at all cooperative with the physios so they are going back this morning to try and hoist him into a chair. He’s loving the attention he’s getting by pretty nurses.

This morning I’m going to the gym and later picking up DGS from school. Tomorrow is my final school pick up for him. I’m feeling so sad he’s leaving primary school.

Happy birthday ginny

Safe journey FGT and everyone travelling today.

Have a good day 🌼

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 15-Jul-26 09:14:32

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I overslept so am having breakfast before I shower.

There is currently a ‘situation’ in the back garden! A parent bird is squawking wildly as one of its fledglings is trapped half way up the back wall where we have a Madame Alfred rose growing thickly. In the meantime Milo is keen to climb up to this little bird but he can’t quite manage it.

It is the U3A lunch today so around 20 of us will be meeting.

Have a good day. Safe travels FGT and I hope all is well with the MDs.

baubles Wed 15-Jul-26 09:37:16

Good morning from overcast South Lanarkshire, much like yesterday which turned into a beautiful day.

I wish I still had my baking mojo, gM but it seems to have disappeared. You put me to shame.

I spent the day feeding the washing machine and getting the laundry dried, more today but the ironing can wait.

Last night’s James Taylor concert on Edinburgh Castle Esplanade was fantastic. DD and DS love his music as much as we do, having listened to it all their lives.

I’ll be having a couple of hours under the parasol with my book this afternoon.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning, it’s bearable out this am , I have all the doors and windows open and the awning out
