Good Morning Saturday 4th July 2026

Good morning from a dry but very windy NE.
DS and family are taking me on holiday, until last evening I wasn't sure it would go ahead. Yesterday evening we got the news we had been waiting for, GD has a conditional offer for 6th form at the RGS in Newcastle, DS's Alma Mater.
The closure of schools by Galaxy Global is attracting a lot of attention and MPs are promising to raise questions in Parliament. There was a peaceful protest outside of the school yesterday and all buses, lorries and cars were beeping their horns in support.
We need to stop this Chinese company asset stripping for their own ends.
Thoughts are with those suffering.
Have a good weekend.

Morning, high cloud in S Hants. Thank you for your good wishes, my son is collecting her cake from us later. No, not made here!
One of her silly gifts from us was a July 1986 Good Housekeeping magazine, highly entertaining. We’ll call in about 4pm, just for an hour.
Great picture Bellas very professional.
Enjoy trips out today, regatta sounds fun Sar great weather for it.
Thoughts with those not having such a great time 🦩 🦩

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's overcast. Rain forecast for most of the week ahead.
At last I have found a roofer prepared at least to come and look for the root of the latest leak.

My back doesn't seem to be any better so I am thoroughly depressed. I was told to keep moving so I waddle around as much as I can bear.

I am enjoying having Helpers staying and yesterday they repaired, pruned and shaped the willow bower which had grown very tall and scraggly. They shopped and cooked supper, smiling throughout.

I'm taking them to the French conversation group today which will give them the chance to meet some locals over coffee and cake.

How lovely that your little one has settled so well with you. latedecember I hope it works out well.

Glad to read that you are fit again FGT

Sorry to hear of your catalogue of disasters Marydoll but well done coping with it. I hope the new machines are trouble free.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Good morning everyone from mid Essex, sunny, blue skies and a cool breeze this morning. A warm day is forecast. Yesterday’s lunchtime bingo session went well, but with fewer people than usual, some on holiday, some at a funeral in the village church.
It’s my dementia friend’s birthday today, although I don’t think she will be aware of it. I’ll get her some flowers and take them round later.

I think DD2 may call in today, not sure about DD1. They’re both busy all day tomorrow so I won’t see them then. I’ll attempt some gardening but the earth is so dry it’s very hard work to do anything useful.

latedecember I’m sorry your DH isn’t feeling well enough to visit you this weekend and hope you manage to successfully pretend it’s not Saturday!

marydoll I hope you don’t suffer too many after effects from your lumberjacking work in the garden! I hope you can have a more restful weekend.

Thinking of all those in pain and with worries and hoping that life is kind to you today.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning all and the air is pleasant at the moment.

I’ve got the slow cooker sorted as our friend gave us two venison steaks yesterday. He recommended flash frying , but I’m more confident that the slow cooker will make it tender .
It’s a bit hot for casseroles but I can always freeze it.

I enjoyed a Pimms when we met up with our Friday friends. Summer in a glass! We had a laugh and I missed dh being there, but he’s very deaf at the moment despite very good hearing aids. We have a lady coming on Wednesday to give him a ‘clear out’.

DS1 and lovely DIL are popping in for coffee this morning with some things that are tricky for me to pick up with the ‘not driving’ thing! 😠. He’ll find jobs to do and I’ll ask DIL to re-thread the blind chain that’s come adrift. She’s very handy and practical. 🥰.

Another lovely afternoon watching tennis, with strawberries and icecream , from our comfy chairs with the fan on. I couldn’t bear to actually be there in this heat. 🥵.

My friend and Dh are caught up with the fires in southern France. They spend every summer camping there and have been evacuated from the site. I await news of them

Thankyou FGT for your comment to me yesterday. Take each day as it comes, is my motto. I hope you have a lovely day, now you’re feeling better. 🥰

Bellasnanna what a great pic .,your gd certainly looks the part.

Enjoy the day as much as you can. 🌺

Good morning from Stockport, I can’t report on the weather as I haven’t looked out yet but rain is forecast.
Yesterday was lovely, 23 degrees and so pleasant.
I got my trip to M&S but only bought nice food.

Tomorrow is my GD’s BF’s birthday and today he is playing golf and being taken for a meal by his two best friends so my GD and I are going for a meal at a newly refurbished restaurant which is a favourite of ours.
They are having a Spa day tomorrow.

My new gardeners are coming this morning to tackle the overgrown back garden, I was very happy with the front which they did two weeks ago.

I hope you can all find something to enjoy today.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s warm with light grey clouds, a sunny day forecast for later
Great photo Bellas
A lovely surprise yesterday when meeting up with DD2 as she’d brought the DGC along too. It was good to see them all and catch up on all their news. We’ve nothing much planned for the weekend apart from going to a couple of furniture shops to look at sofas, I think I’ve found what I’m looking for online, but we need to actually try it out, so I hope the right one is in the showroom. No doubt we’ll go to our favourite coffee place whilst in town.
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Bellasnana It's so nice to read your morning posts again. Your DGD looks so professional, definitely has the posture. And her hair is so long, love the style.
Very nice that you are pleased with the new hairdresser and DGS2 has bounced back quickly. Saw your birthday present to yourself, looks very efficient!
Best wishes to all GNers for a great day!

Good morning, it’s cloudy here in south Glos, lovely and cool too.
Our lovely neighbours moved yesterday, only into the village but we’ll miss them. I briefly met the new ones who seem very nice.
I did a bit of gardening, more today, I am pleased with how it looks.
I need to sort out the freezer sometime, clear some space and see exactly what I have.
Little happening here today.
Have a lovely day everyone 🌹

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. A change of plans yesterday meant we had a very nice lunch out but as we could only manage two courses it all seemed to be over in a flash. Watched tennis all afternoon not good for my back.
Today an early trip to the garden centre and then I think DS is coming to see us. A few small jobs lined up for him, the bending things
Lovely photo * Bella*
Enjoy the party Jaxjacky
Best wishes all round

Good morning from the NE Mids. Weather is bright and still with a promise of yet another warm day.
I did manage to clear most of the chickweed yesterday, there is still a little around some lavender which I left alone as the bees were there in abundance, naturally, I didn’t want to antagonise them.
I’m off to the police station today, I witnessed an RTC recently and I’m required to make a statement. I also have dash cam footage that they want to see.
Have a good day one and all!

Good morning from a breezy cloudy Morecambe Bay. I was up at silly o’clock closing windows as a door was rattling. I did drop back off then the milkman woke me again. A bit more sleep and my aurora app chimed, so CDog jumped on me, he snuggled down but I wasn’t getting any more 💤.
We have grass cutting today for a client before we go away next week. I’m hoping the rain stays away. It’s a slightly better forecast this morning than it was last night.
The Tour de France is passing the end of our road next July Mick. The man with the white paint has been round highlighting all the potholes and flaws along the route. I think they are going to put a top dressing on all the local roads after the repairs. Perhaps they could plan a detour and get some other roads resurfaced too!
A cup of tea calls so I shall sign out. Take care everyone 🌸.

Good morning everyone from the Essex coast. Sunny and warm is the forecast for the next week.
Our new sofa is being delivered between 8.40 and 9.05, such precision.
This weekend is our Regatta at the yacht club. Band and BBQ this evening and a BBQ tomorrow afternoon, it should be good fun.
Wishing you all a pleasant weekend xx

Good morning, the sun is up, it’s going to be a glorious day.

Local food shop first thing, then going with DD and her boys to buy clothes for her boys (leavers prom and school discos)

Lovely photo of your GD Bellasnana

I hope you manage to have a relaxing weekend Marydoll

FGT2 be careful, you are going to have high temperatures in your happy place 🌞🙋‍♀️

Good morning from Wiltshire.

Today I will see my 3 children but all separately. First will be DD2 for coffee and I will collect some cards and a present from her and say hello to GCs. Then we will drive to Newbury to see DS and his family. DGD2 is 13 next week so will drop off her cards and gifts. We won’t see her unfortunately as she is appearing with her theatre group in shows this weekend. Then onto Reading to DD1 and family whose birthday is tomorrow. We will go out to their fabulous local Indian restaurant and stay overnight.

I’d no idea what softball was until I saw the photo of your DGD Bellasnana. It looks dangerous! Glad she loves it.

Hope you all have a lovely time at your DD’s 40th ‘do’ Jax

Please, no more disasters to report MD - you’ve had a lifetimes worth.

Have a lovely Saturday everyone.

Good morning from Sheffield

Late December, a life changing decision for you, but a blessing to be part of a child’s life.

I am off out tonight. My DD birthday treat, her birthday . We are going to see Priscilla Queen of the Desert and out for tea. I’ve just perused the menu online to decide what to have. We will have a lovely time. DH will chauffeur

Take care everyone

Good morning everyone from Anglesey.
I once made a Christmas decoration from an orange, some ribbon and cloves after seeing it on Blue Peter and it used a lot of cloves, GrandMattie, so I only made the one.

Yesterday we went to the Slimming World group in Camaes. I'd put on half a pound. Too much tiger loaf this week! 🤣
Afterwards I took the little chap to the bay and we had a paddle in the sea. His laughter as the waves washed over our feet are infectious.

A year ago today we had the call to say the court had agreed he could come to us as kinship foster carers.
The following morning we went out to get the basics that a 4 month old would need as we had no idea what he would arrive with from the emergency carers.

DH should have been coming to see us for the weekend but he wasn't well at work yesterday so doesn't fancy travelling. I'll not think of today as Saturday so it won't seem so disappointing.

Wishing everyone a good day, take care. 🌻

Good morning from s somerset, We are expecting a beautiful day today

My summer duvet came off my bed again, to be replaced with a sheet and thin blanket, I am going to keep the duvet handy as the weather is so changeable

It was a very busy day, all day yesterday but I did tidy the kitchen before bed and I picked blueberries at 8. I have picked several kg already, nets on the bushes this year so I can pick every two days, there are still a lot of berries to ripen.

I am aiming for a more relaxing day today and will be out cycling by 9, I do like the safe extended route via my allotment. I will be home by 11.30 and will then sew all afternoon, I hope

Well done, your DGD, bellas. She really is doing well. Is she planning to become professional?

Good morning from Bristol.
I’ve just read the last pages of yesterday’s posts. Goodness, MD! Can no one in your your family or friends help?
I had an empty yesterday, Spanish having finished, this particular class forever.
I decided to make lavender bottles, so picked a lot (84 stems to be exact) and got out my bag of random ribbon. Mum had bought it for me in the ‘90s. That took me some time.
I also took an orange and my kilo of cloves into the garden, to make a pomander. 4 “bottles” made, one given to a friendly resident who came to chat. Then I got going on a pomander. Goodness, it takes a lot of cloves if they are to be packed close, leaving gaps for ribbon. I managed half before going in and will probably finish today.
Church coffee this morning then empty. This time of year has a lot of empty spaces in my life.
Thin.kingnof thise with difficulties. 🐦‍🔥 Carpe diem 🦩🌹🦩🦩❤️🦩

Good morning from Malta where the high today is 35°C.

There was a lovely cool breeze yesterday so I took the boys to our little local play park for a while. DGS2 was definitely back to his old self, thank goodness.

The new hairdresser seems very nice and I was pleased enough with my hair to book a colour in a couple of weeks.

Today I shall get on my cross-trainer for half an hour, then the usual Saturday jobs around the house. I’ve been putting off doing the floors as I had the pest control people to spray last week. I’ve found three corpses so far so it has worked!🙌🏼

Hope all the anniversaries weee celebrated in style yesterday and that things will improve for Marydoll.

DGD did well in her softball tournament yesterday. How she plays in such high temperatures whilst wearing padding and helmet, I just don’t know, but she loves it!

Wishing you all a happy weekend. ☀️ 🎾🎾🎾
