NannaBling, TanaMa and stewaris don’t be disappointed if your lovely comments go unacknowledged…Michael’s Good Morning thread usually attracts the early risers…! I dip in and out of it, as well as Soops Kitchen which has a very similar, friendly vibe…

Good Evening Michael12. I always read your post first thing but have never commented before. Mainly because I'm out the door before 9:00am to pick up my 4/2 year old grandson. Today I decided to comment. Congratulations to all the wedding anniversary couples especially the Golden wedding anniversary too. I hope you all had a great day. On Fridays I always spend the day looking after my grandson. He is the youngest of 7 grandchildren by 11 years and I feel blest to have him. All the others have been children while I was working and I've had a fabulous day with him. I hope every one else has had as good a day as mine especially Michael12 as I think the routines we have are the fabric of our lives. Thankyou for making me realise my life is something to celebrate whether is is a routine day, a once in a lifetime (Golden Wedding) day and is something we should enjoy. I look forward to your post next week.

Just waiting for the beautiful sunset at Doniford Bay, Somerset, celebrating 44 years of marriage, champagne at the ready 🌇 🍾🥂

Ginny such a pretty bride.
Congratulations on your Golden anniversary 💖

I have just a complete electricity outage - called the Vulnerable Emergency Service (daughter signed me up as I am 91 and live alone in an isolated (but very beautiful!!) area!
Such a lovely Engineer came very quickly and found it was my washing machine (one month outside the guarantee!!). I couldn't understand how it could be as machine had not been used for a week, plugged into the wall socket but not switched on? However, as it had already cost me £130 for a call out and £130 for the actual visit, I decided to cut my losses and get a new washing machine!! - just in case I had to pay a repair s chap call out plus any repair needed!

Thank you for your anniversary greetings, much appreciated 😊.

Glad it went well Roses, you must feel relieved
Marydoll, it looks like stick man has collapsed on your grassgrin

Usedtobeblonde Fri 03-Jul-26 10:58:06

Marydoll we do believe and it is a real mess but you and your H should NOT be doing it.
That’s what family or money is for.

Good morning from a warm Co Armagh, I’ve been chopping down Night Scented Stock , it has been thouroughly chewed by caterpillars , the eggs must have been on it when we bought it , such a shame , it’s amazing how much damage they can do overnight , I’m hoping some of it can grow back
I’m dreading another heatwave , I can’t take too much heat , at least with cold temperatures you can wrap up
I’ve had my morning coffee so off to do a bit of ironing before I run out of energy!
Glad yesterday wasn’t too bad Rosesandlilac
What a shame to see the mess in your garden Marydoll 😧

Happy wedding anniversaries to all those celebrating and especially to the Golden Wedding two! Have a lovely day!
It is our 61st on 10 July and yet doesn't seem a minute since it was our Golden day. Time flies by more quickly the more we age.
Anybody approaching their Diamond anniversary (60th) can request a congratulatory card from the KIng. You have to send a copy of your wedding certificate to prove it. Our DD arranged ours- in good time. I think she found it all detailed what to do online. Just thought it might be of interest some of my age group!

Good morning everyone from sunny Anglesey.
Congratulations on your Golden anniversaries, Ginny and Grannyme6. 🥂🥂

Yesterday's visit to The Dingle went well. The trees are beautiful and we were treated to a cabaret act on an overhead branch by a very friendly red squirrel which was a bonus.

Hope your grand daughter finds a suitable 6th form soon, Harrigran. Aside from all the upheaval it's outrageous that monies spent on trips have disappeared into the ether.

Glad your appointment went well, RosesandLilac.

Hope everyone has the best day possible. 🌻

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Fri 03-Jul-26 09:51:13

Another here adding my congratulations to Mr&MrsGinny a wonderful achievement. Enjoy your day (and the surprise when it comes!)

Happy birthday to your daughter Jax on her special ‘0’ day.
🎉

Marydoll what a day you had! Bet you felt like turning round, going back to bed and pulling the duvet over your head. Has someone been sticking pins in a doll do you think? 😱

harrigran beyond awful. No wonder you don’t feel in holiday mode.

Maybe go inside Málaga cathedral Georgesgran? I’m not the least religious but found it uplifting and inspiring. The memory has stayed with me a long time. When we were outside one time in the plaza opposite enjoying summer drinks in the shade a very VIP wedding was taking place. It was splendid to watch! The bride looked gorgeous, limousines to the door down those very narrow streets surrounding the cathedral, beautiful retinue of several bridesmaids and security in dark suits, shades and earpieces. Just wow!

I admire your outlook on life Gingster you are always so upbeat about what life has thrown at you. Must be hard at times soldiering on best as.

Do you know ~ isn’t this a lovely group ~ all chatting together and starting our day? Thank you Mick. I’m very grateful for it.

My heart sinks at the prospect of another heatwave and it certainly feels warmer this morning. A quick trip to the village and an afternoon watching the tennis, I think. Sorry to read of Mdoll’s manifold disasters; surely today can’t be quite so awful!

madeleine45 Fri 03-Jul-26 08:48:36

Good morning Micheal and all GN's from a greyish but still warm North Yorkshire. After a rubbish night waking up several times and ending with weird nightmare am only just getting going.

A very happy anniversary Ginny , hope you have a lovely day, Many of you are being so active and it makes me remember when I used to do the same but these days I find myself taking things more slowly and keeping out of the heat more. Getting old!!

Yesterday, I had a mixed day. Had a meeting at the library, but was washer watching as I wanted to get the bedding out on the line before I went. It was very windy and I managed to get it all out with extra pegs on the line, and then a bit of a rush to get to the library on the yellow peril.

Havent been to the last couple, and the talk was on the Herriot hospice and their various new things they are doing. It finished a little earlier than usual and so I was able to message the cleaners and say I was back if they wanted to come any earlier. The weather was still windy and so was able to go to the washing line on the peril and collect all the washing , nice and dry and smelling good, so it had been worth the effort.

I have been really struggling with my back and it was very painful when I got back, so had to lie flat for a while to try and improve things. So I was glad to see the cleaners come. They made a good job and could reach high and low, and have a good go with the vacuum cleaner ,which I find difficult, especially at the moment, and all those annoying things that I cant pick up etc, so things look a lot tidier now.

I didnt do much in the afternoon, a little desultary paper sorting, and beginning to sort out books for the charity shop. I need to be thinking of getting a new tv etc but cant be bothered to start looking. To get a decent price and find what you want these days you have to compare things and try and check all the small printand what is a bargain for you. Ah how much simpler it was when you went to a local shop and could see all the various things in one place!

Wishing you all a successful day

GrandmaC47 Fri 03-Jul-26 08:46:15

Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary, to Mr&MrsGinny and Mr&MrsGrannyme6
At this time in 1976 weeks were staying at the local hospital with our four year old dd, who had pneumonia.

Gingster Fri 03-Jul-26 08:37:37

Just back from a local shop - milk and bread, eggs and bananas - always things we run out of.
Nice and cool so I took little pooch who has recovered from her malaise. 🐾🐾.

Lovely to have ds2 here yesterday . He’s such a calming, joyful presence. My other two offspring are rather noisy and hyper. Love them all 🥰.

Today I’ll go with friends to meet our Friday pals. Dh has already said he doesn’t want to come. Oh well!
One of our pals shoots 😥 and has some sort of meat to give me. As long as it’s prepped I’ll be ok.

Dd , gd and friends are going up to the seaside cottage for the weekend. Theyll go after school. I don’t envy them that journey on a Friday evening, on the A12.

Happy golden anniversary mr and Mrs * Ginny* have a lovely day. 💛

Take care all and keep cool, in the south, dry in the north. 🌺

ginny Fri 03-Jul-26 08:36:44

Thanks for all the good wishes . Here we are as 21 and 23 year old newlyweds.

monk08 Fri 03-Jul-26 08:34:31

Happy Anniversary Grannyme6 🍾🥂.

Grammaretto Fri 03-Jul-26 08:33:07

Marydoll I believe you aren't making it up! And you released your inner Karma!

I'm glad the hospital experience was ok R&L and results not too bad.

Grannyme6 Fri 03-Jul-26 08:32:41

Morning and congratulations to ginny on your Golden Wedding anniversary today. DH and I are celebrating the same today - what a hot day it was in 1976! A family meal later at a restaurant at the coast in Dorset is planned.
Good to hear your tests went well Roses and FGT is feeling better. Take it easy MD and good wishes to all.

karmalady Fri 03-Jul-26 08:28:28

Very scary to read that MAW they have infiltrated all over uk and very many other countries and of course their chips are in many cars, our infrastructure etc

MD what a day!! Go on FB and find a reputable garden waste remover, no tip trips for you for that garden waste. Be sensible

Marydoll Fri 03-Jul-26 08:21:58

Proof I am not making it up.
Not the photos of my lovely garden, I had planned to post!

I nearly posted a photo of my Blue Badge, which has arrived jst in time. I have lost the plot.
One less worry. Walking is so painfully slow.
