Swimming pool was more like a talking pool!

It the ones that swim side by side AND chat that get my goat! While I’m envious that anyone can actually swim and talk at the same time I would rather not have to negotiate my way around them so that they can carry on their riveting conversations!

Our pool has a ‘slow and steady’ swim session, which is recognised as a bit of a social meet up, lots of nattering at the ends.

Then there are general swims, or lane swims. Not really chatty ones.

I find this when we go on cruises. I like to swim laps but you just can’t because the yakkers block all the lanes. I don’t mind a good yack myself but I wouldn’t block others who want to swim unimpeded.

Can't the lifeguards on duty have a word with them? Or, if you don't mind, have a word yourself?

Some people rest after one length, others like to lap. Taking a rest, one should move to the corner of the lane so others can still turn.

Cossy

All dipping to cool??

It’s an indoor pool at David Lloyd - it’s cool in the building anyway.

I know what you mean. I haven't been swimming for a while, but that is so frustrating. Some don't think of moving out the way when swimmers approach the end to do a turn around. They remain there in the bloody way.

Go and have your chat in the cafeangry

I do try to go twice a week, it’s usually fairly empty (no kids before 4 pm) but today there were too many of those people who stand at the ends, nattering. At one point there were at least 6 of them cluttering up the lanes (no deep end) at both ends while I was trying to do my 20 lengths.

So that’s my moan for today.
