Good morning from sunny Wiltshire. Yesterday was very grey all day but fairly warm. Watched the Prem rugby final yesterday afternoon. It must have been exhausting for the teams as it was far warmer than usual in Twickenham.
Sports day on Friday was pretty hot. GS2 won a sprint and GD3 won a 3 legged race with her partner in Year 3. I remember how she was overwhelmed by the noise from the children cheering their teams on when she was in Reception, but GS2 was not at all phased. We will go over to their house later on for the afternoon.
Happy Birthday Sar 🎂🍾.
So happy for you being able to see your DS, GM.
Don’t stay away too long GB.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone. It won’t be as pleasant over the next few days in the ferocious heat.

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.
Nothing planned today except an early dog walk and a little gardening.
Happy birthday Sar.
Good morning from a slightly cloudy but already very warm Suffolk. We’ll be having the morning dog walk on the beach. DS and family are camping for the weekend at the lovely site in their campervan at Dunwich.
The site is non the cliff top with lots of trees and steps down to the beach. DS and DGS3 are probably on the beach now fishing. We are meeting them at the beach cafe, well known to Gingster for coffee and no doubt bacon rolls for the DGC and a walk with our dog and theirs on the beach.
I’m hoping for a sea breeze,no matter how slight. I hope all have a good day and Sar has a happy birthday.
Good morning from Sheffield
GrandMattie enjoy spending time with your son😊
Happy birthday Sar🎂
It’s going to be hot
I want to tidy a few things in the garden today.
I shall do that and then take it easy today
The family will call at various points to see their dad so will get the cushions out for the patio furniture and make sure the fridge is full
Thinking of those that feel sad on Father’s Day today.
It brings sadness as well as happy times❤️
Take care everyone
Good morning all from a sunny Morecambe Bay.
Happy birthday. Sar
What beautiful material Gmattie I’m sure you find a use for every inch.
It was lovely to read your post this morning. Your delight came through with every word.
Having got the inside of the camper cleaned and everything put away yesterday I will get some gardening done today . I made start by cutting the grass yesterday. It’s a bit of a sun trap so there’s a limit to how much time I can spend in this hot weather.
First it’s a dog walk in the cool of the woods. Hopefully CDog will be fully recovered today. He was much improved yesterday but I was concerned how much he was drinking. I filled his water bowl up at least 3 times. Im hoping it’s just a reaction to the meds and the heat.
Take care, stay safe everyone 🌸
Good Midsummer morning all from the Scottish Borders. A beautiful morning here. I don't think we'll get the high temperatures, thankfully.
I'm going to a friend's garden party this afternoon so will bake something to take.
My lodgers set off for their European holiday yesterday. They didn't seem daunted by the thought of 40°C temps.
I hosted a painting class in my garden yesterday. The tutor was Leo du Feu who's exhibiting in Linlithgow at present. I joined in the fun and then showed 2 families around my house - for sale!
What a lovely surprise gMattie to meet your DS on the bus.
I hope you benefit from the detox Grandmabatty
Enjoy this long day everyone.
Happy Birthday, Sar 🎂🎈
Don’t stay away too long, GB
Your joy was loud and clear, enjoy your visitor, GM
I shall miss your daily posts Grandmabatty. Take care.💐
Happy birthday Sar🥳
Congrats on the rugby BlueSapphire but commiserations on your loo. Hope you can find a plumber asap.🤞🏻
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where the 🌞 is up already! What a beautiful morning.
I’ve had a lovely lie in (no 9 year old L’il Miss beside me saying “morning grandma!” at 6am today! 😁
I’m going over to theirs for coffee mid morning so it’ll be a nice stroll through the park in a summer dress and sunglasses - then this afternoon I shall hop on a bus and have a malt whisky with my stepfather as it’s FD. I’ve bought him a card and a bottle of whisky. Not very original but it’s difficult buying for a 94 year old 🤷♀️ so I usually stick to anything to eat or drink really.
The photo I took is the 7:55am train to Liverpool Lime Street arriving at Platform 2. I was waiting for the kettle to boil for my TiB and I know some of you especially like seeing/hearing about my proximity to the railway station 😁
Ps if you enlarge the photo you can see the Pennine ridge. I love that it’s known as ‘the backbone of England’ a lovely description I think.
Now to read all your posts and enjoy my tea!
Good morning from sunny N. Bucks.
We enjoyed a few hours at my Great Niece’s 21st party. It was lovely to see people that we hadn’t seen for some while. A number of them had known my late brother and spoke very fondly of him.
Happy birthday Sar.
Have a lovely time with your son*GM*.
Today DH is being taken out by our three DDs for a treat. I’ll shall potter around and no doubt end up with my paints out and enjoying the weather.
Wishing all a good day.
Good morning all. Just watered the hanging baskets as they dry so quickly.
Happy Fathers Day to all the lovely men who deserve a great day.
Remembering my dad too. He was a goodun! ❤️.
Happy birthday *Sar, have a lovely day. 🌺
A parcel arrived from ds2 for his dad but we won’t see him today as the journey on a hot, busy motorway is unecessary. He’s a dad too so I think he’ll be spoilt at home.
DS1 and DIL will come for coffee and Dd and DGD will appear for lunch sometime. Just a hotch potch from the freezer will do.
I’m envious of grans living north from here. A more pleasant temperature for you. 🥵.
Enjoy the day whatever it brings. ☀️
Good morning from a lovely Stockport.
I am reminded today that I never knew a Fathers Day with my own Father, he died 77 years ago when Fathers Day wasn’t even a twinkle in the Card manufacturers eye.
I hope you all have a good day, I shall be indoors escaping the heat.
Good morning from a sunny northwest coast. Sad news yesterday as my BIL, my late DH’s eldest brother, in his nineties, passed away in the south. I saw him a few weeks ago and of course it brings back memories of my husband’s passing.
I went as planned to a local play in the evening, which I didn’t enjoy. I thought it might be my mood, but others agreed that it was a flop. Not only a flop, but a train wreck as far as I was concerned. And I had debated whether to go or not. Wish I hadn’t bothered, but I like to support the theatre and go to as many live performances as I can.
I’m going into the city this afternoon to meet a couple of singing friends for a matinee concert opera performance. Now this should be good, with my hometown symphony orchestra. This weather suits me perfectly too.
Birthday greetings Sar and thoughts to all🌺
Good morning from Durham. Home from Cyprus, landing late at 2.30am and home by 4am. It’s bright and breezy here and the temperature is only expected to reach only 21, far cooler than I got used to last week. No plans for today, other than a case full of clothes to wash. I’ll remember my Dad, a lovely man, still missed by my DDs and me. I hope you’re on the mend GrandmaC47. My thoughts as usual with MD and her DH.
Best wishes to all. X

Morning from a bright already warm S Hants.
Happy Birthday Sar 🎂🥳🥂have a lovely day.
Fancy that, meeting your son on the bus gMattie how funny.
Friends last night, we sat in the garden eating Chinese and chatting until it got quite cool.
We were due to be at my daughters today for bbq, sadly she now has d&v so we’re staying away.
Pictures from Stonehenge celebrating the solstice on the news brings back memories from many years ago, I slept in a van!
Have a pleasant day all

Oops! Ignore the ‘rainy’. Don’t know where that came from. It’s not likely to rain for a couple of months at least!😂
You confused me! As it’s sunny here in the NW of Malta. 😂
Condolences to you and your family hollysteers💐
Good morning from a hot Aylesbury.
We are in the hotel we’ve stayed at for two nights. We’ve had a lovely visit with my brother and his lovely family. I’m lucky to be with my Dad on Father’s Day. I gave him his card at breakfast. I know I’m lucky to still have my Dad. He’s 85 and unsteady on his feet but so gentle I’ve loved fussing over him. He gets the best care from my stepmum too. He’s really made us laugh.
My brother and sis in law are coming to the hotel soon for coffee and we’ll all sit out in the hotel garden before we head off back up north for the long drive home.
Wishing everyone a lovely day with sunshine and moments of joy🌼
Have a very happy birthday Sar 💐
Hoolysteers 💐
Georgesgran, thank you, I’m getting there. The fancy cobbles in Darlington are very unforgiving 😀
Good morning, Michael12 and all!
I don't usually post on Sundays. I'm sitting here behind the till with a cuppa, waiting for customers .... they will all come flooding in soon ...
On my way here this morning, I shot into Spar, gasping for a bottle of orange juice. Just as I arrived outside, I had a massive sneezing fit, literally 17 one after the other; with my nose the way it is, + the under-eye black bruising, the pain was excruciating, but I couldn't stop it, just had to go with the flow!
My poor conk! Whole face felt like it was exploding!
But I had some luck that when I grabbed the juice, on the till area were 7 discounted bananas, which were 38p each but dropped to 9p, so I grabbed a couple, and they and the juice were all scoffed and guzzled by the time I arrived at work a few minutes later! Took some painkillers for the hooter as soon as I opened up!
See you all later!
Good morning everyone from the north Angus coast - where there's no chance of us getting too hot!! I'm a sky lover, particularly of the night sky, and of course at this time of year it doesn't get dark at all. Last night I dropped off to sleep gazing out of the bedroom window - the photo is what I saw at 11 30.
I have tried to post on two separate occasions this past week, but each time I lost my post. No idea why 🤷. So I'm hoping this will be third time lucky .......
Happy Birthday to you Sar53 - enjoy your special day
And lots of Wows! Grandmattie. That's a mountain of spices! And how lovely to see your son on the bus like that!
Grandmabatty you'll be missed, so enjoy your sabbatical but come back soon. It was good of you to let us know, so that we didn't wonder .....
This weekend is the 10th anniversary of the sudden death of my son-in-law so DD, who now lives in England, has brought her mother-in-law up to Scotland to be with her and our two lovely granddaughters. I met DD and J for lunch yesterday and it was so lovely to see her again. We are 84 and 85 so this more than likely may well have been our last meeting - appropriately enough at The Scottish Antiques Centre 😁.
Today is being spent lazily at home after a wonderful three-day tai chi workshop last weekend. It was an international workshop conducted by a wonderful instructor from Canada and hosted by us - full-on and exhausting, but roll on the next one! So a lazy weekend this week is well-earned.
I hope you all enjoy your day today, however you are spending it, and that it doesn't get too hot 🔥 ☀️ 🏖️🌄
