So sorry pamdixon. That sounds very painful.

pamdixon Wed 17-Jun-26 16:14:51

afternoon all from a grey Oxfordshire!
I'm feeling sorry for myself as I've got some slipped discs, and I had loads of spinal injections on Friday but so far no improvement....as I'm happier standing than sitting I've just made some brownies from a recipe that I've been meaning to try for ages. I can report they are delicious! Nothing like a very naughty treat to cheer me and DH up (as I'm rather like a bear with a sore head at the moment).

I’m a bit late to say good morning but just wanted to say that Kriz has nailed the random pink flamingo vibe.
Seeing, feeling, hearing, tasting. Whichever it is it’s finding and appreciating that moment of joy.

good morning(ish) from a dull and overcast south Dorset (I say ish as I haven't yet had my lunch so to me it's still morning).
i've been to tesco this morning spending what was a horrendous amount on what seemed to be not a lot!
nothing planned for this afternoon as i'm worn out! i'm still recovering from a groin strain so had to use one of tesco's buggies but it's still tiring. I had coffee with my friend who also shops on a Wednesday so we put the world to rights.
i've got to feed my cat, lucy. she's an old lady now and has lost a lot of weight and looks scrawny. but she eats as if it's going out of fashion!
hopefully the sun will be back again soon but I hope it doesn't get too hot.

Hello Mick and GNs from the sunny Sussex coast. It’s beautiful today. I’ve just got back from my ‘exercise to music’ class for the over 60s. (Am well over 60 smile). We follow it with reviving coffee in various cafes and coffee shops. Am knackered, but in an excellent way. Now lunch and a slow afternoon.
Have a lovely day everyone.

Welcome Kriz 👋 nice to see posts from abroad enjoy your day.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Wed 17-Jun-26 13:22:30

What an inspirational post Kriz
Thank you.

Rushing about (mentally or physically) sometimes affects our well being. And comparison is the thief of joy - so it behoves us all to be more mindful in our day.

Good morning from Cleveland Ohio
As a brand-new day begins, I hope it brings each of you a little peace, a little laughter, and plenty of reasons to smile. Whether you’re starting the day with a cup of tea, planning a busy schedule, spending time with family, enjoying the company of a beloved pet, or simply taking a quiet moment to yourself, I hope today treats you kindly.

Life has a way of keeping us on our toes. Some days are filled with joy and celebration, while others can feel challenging and overwhelming. No matter what kind of day lies ahead for you, please remember that even the smallest moments can hold something special, a kind word from a friend, a favorite song on the radio, the warmth of the morning sunshine, or a treasured memory that makes you smile.

Good afternoon all. I did write a long post earlier, showing willing 😉, but it has obviously gone astray somewhere between my hitting Post and arrival on the thread 🤷. Sorry - but I am still around.
Have a lovely day everyone.

Yes Hollysteers. it was Shaun. I'll need to look out for his books!
He's an interesting fellow.

Good morning everyone.
A bit topsy turvy here this morning as the little chap has woken up a bit out of sorts. I'm almost certain he's cutting another molar, poor thing.

We'd normally go to toddler group, but I've given him Calpol and letting him play with his toys at home.

One of my former colleagues is going to be a grandma. I taught her son when he was in Year 1. I've started knitting a little cardi to put away for when she is born.

Thank you for your tips, Marydoll and hope you feel better as the day goes on.

Take care all. 🌻

A bright good morning from Co Armagh , some welcome rain in the night , but I’ll still have to water some pots , I can’t handle a full watering can so use my half sized one so it takes twice as long
Our Seniors club has stopped for the summer , I miss it , don’t know which of the many tasks pending I will tackle today , might see how far I can get with my crochet
I was poorly after my spring COVID jab , I’m thinking I must have been brewing actual Covid as I lost my sense of smell for weeks too
I know the jab doesn’t give me the bug ,
Hoping for a better day for the poorly 💐

Good morning from a brightening northwest coast.
I was on the desk at the music club yesterday but didn’t feel on form and sang indifferently, not that people would necessarily notice, we have very varied standards of performers.

Then into town and had my nails done, just a pale pink rather than my usual red. Also a car park managed by a friend has been taken over by another company so that’s my parking space gone. It just wasn’t my day. Today I could go to the usual lunchtime recital, but don’t feel inspired and have a rehearsal tonight anyway.

Grammaretto you mentioned a bookshop owner coming to see your books from Wigtown. Would that be Sean Blythell?
I’m reading the second of his books on running a bookshop and they are very amusing.
Thoughts to all🌺

Good morning all and it’s dreary here in Essex.
It got really warm yesterday afternoon after a chilly start. Who knows what today will bring 🤔.

Yesterdays Bridge club was quiet with only 11 of us there.our leader is unwell and we’re not sure if or when she’ll be back.
We had cake as it was someone s birthday.

Today I’ll meet my friend for coffee and a wander round the market. I’ll buy some more geraniums as they’re reliable and give a good show. £5 for 12. 👍.
Another friend might join us as she’s coming to our town today.

We’ll pop into M and S and I’ll stock up as my freezers are now defrosted and sorted.

Dh is going out for lunch with his old school pal. They go to the Golf Club. Dh is still a member but sadly can’t play anymore.

Hoping you all have a good day 🌺

Good morning hope all is well. Git up early had early shower and now sitting with first cuppa reading all your lovely posts. Today do my lunchtime stint back at work as they’re short staffed. Retirement didn’t last too long. But I’m really enjoying the company again. Hope all have the best day.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Wed 17-Jun-26 08:20:19

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s wet yet warm! Strange combo.

I have my yoga class this morning then my most favourite treat to myself - a reflexology session for a full hour this afternoon. The feeling I get afterwards you can’t get on prescription it’s just so holistically beneficial. It’ll do me the power of good as I’ve felt a bit adrift of late.

Afterwards I’m going to watch L’il Miss at her swim lesson. I always enjoy that as it’s also a lovely opportunity for a weekly one2one with my youngest (teacher) daughter.

Now to read the 32 posts before mine. Thoughts go to all who are finding life difficult for whatever reason. Life goes on for everyone around yet for those struggling that’s a hard stone to swallow isn’t it? Take heart. x

Good morning from a wet Leicestershire.

I have just surfaced, unusual for me!
Coffee with friends this morning then Ocado delivery this afternoon and the alarm service.

Maybe Grandmattie you are doing too much. I am only 2 years older but know that if I did all that you do I would be on my knees. I hope you feel better soon especially when your DS is over.

Safe travels Brook we did that tour with good friends a few years ago, it was wonderful.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Grammaretto Wed 17-Jun-26 08:16:20

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Overcast here.

My back is painful so I have an appointment with the chiropractor this morning to see if he can release come tension, as I think it may be that. The house business is getting to me.
Yesterday's viewers were lovely and serious so that's hopeful.

I also did an extra shift at the shop till and a couple came in speaking Spanish. The man called me by my name. i wear a name badge😊 and said he had been in my teenagers pottery class. I recognised him and remembered his name though it must have been 40 years ago. A nice surprise.

I do like the new addition to your garden Marzipan 🙂

Your cruise will be wonderful brook look out for whales!

Marydoll 😟flowers

Hope everyone has something nice on their agenda.

Good morning from Warwick where we are still huddled under the covers, as the rain has been bouncing on the camper roof for some time.
The plan for today is to visit David Austin’s gardens. It may prove to be an expensive mistake!
Yesterday’s trip was a touch disappointing as none of the churchyards where my ancestors were buried had many gravestones. It was good to see and get a feel of the villages though.
We haven’t decided whether to head home later or find another campsite. A closer look at the weather forecast may help determine what we do, but it will be a long drive is we do head off home.
Take care everyone 🌸

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Rain is forecast for later but it feels muggy at the moment.

It is the monthly U3A lunch today, as organised by OH. Seventeen of us will be meeting at a riverside restaurant.

Then this evening, while OH is watching football I will be at WI. The competition is a 2nd world war item. I am taking along a photo of a young woman and a Land Army badge. My father was only 16 when the war ended but had a Land Army girlfriend. When she left she gave him a couple of mementos.

Elder son was in touch yesterday about looking after my granddaughter. Two nights next week - just taking her to school and then doing my own thing - V&A… Then in July, after her school breaks up, four nights! I think that will be her longest stay. Her parents are having a short break somewhere in Europe. I am already making a list of possible activities!

Have a good day everyone.

GrannyIvy Wed 17-Jun-26 08:03:32

Good morning from Cambridgeshire where is has been raining but hopefully will clear very soon. I have had enough rain now and my lawns are very green. I will need to deadhead the roses and tidy around outside today plus the lounge area needs a good hoover dust and declutter before the family come on Sunday. My garden always comes first and the indoor jobs fitted in when I can at this time of the year.

Yesterdays mini BBQ with the little ones went well until one whacked the other with a cushion and war broke out and by the time I intervened the littlest was sobbing with a sore nose and the eldest shouting he started it 🙈 They cannot be left alone at the moment at all without something going off.

Thinking of those with difficulties rumbling on and hope today will be a good day 🌷

Jaxjacky Wed 17-Jun-26 07:53:45

Morning from a wet S Hants, a heavy shower plus the bin men woke me up. The cleaner was marvellous yesterday, she will be back next week.
Out of the blue contact from old friends yesterday who are travelling around the south in their campervan. They’re here this afternoon for coffee, we met in France, they live in Wales, looking forward to it.
Cruise sounds different brook you’ll be escaping the heat next week, room for one more? 🙂
Have a pleasant day all.
