It’s so cold!

I looked to see if there was a thread asking if anyone’s put their heating on, trying to justify doing it myself. But no, everyone else is nice and warm, snug, comfortable.
It’s grey and wet here and the temperature indoors is 15. I’m so cold, despite a return to jumpers and socks and sitting under a blanket. It’s June and has no right to be cold.
Please tell me you’ve got your heat on.

I turned our heating on when I got back this afternoon. I was freezing. I got my duvet coat out of wardrobe again - in June!!! My feet were like ice in socks and trainers.

Roll on the predicted heatwave.

Our heating kicked in automatically- when the temp drops below a certain level it does. June or not, it’s been cold the last few days.

MG55 Thu 11-Jun-26 19:58:23

I gave in and put the heating on today as well 🤣

Margiknot Thu 11-Jun-26 19:53:38

Our heating comes on if the inside temperature drops below 17- and yes it’s just come on! We needed our winter duvet on the bed the last couple of nights, and I’m wearing a jumper! Yesterday the rain was more like hail- unexpected in mid June! The ducklings ( we live next to a water filled moat) were caught by the hail whilst in our garden and huddled together under our garden table.

Goodness me yes. Heating is on. Its cold and miserable out. I am wearing what I have worn all winter.

Last night I was so cold before I went to bed ...with a hottie...I had a large bowl of porridge with demerara sugar. I dont normally have sugar on my porridge and very rarely have had it at night. But needs must.

Each bedroom still has a fan ready for a repeat of the warm weather. And I have an air con unit in my bedroom. Hahaha.

Back in warm pyjamas and a winter tog duvet on the bed.

Even dh said he’d put the heating on today - if we had any! System about to be replaced.
But I’ve had a fan heater on in the sitting room for most of the afternoon.

And I’ve had my electric blanket on for the past few nights!

CH came on this morning based on the thermostat, But by lunch time the internal temperature dropped to 17.5, so I immediately switched the CH back on

I'm not far from Greenfinch and my heating's been on this afternoon. I had it on for a couple of hours yesterday too.

Jaxjacky Thu 11-Jun-26 19:27:43

Yes, on here in S Hampshire and warm socks.

crazyH Thu 11-Jun-26 19:24:04

Yes - heating is on

Gingster Thu 11-Jun-26 19:20:22

We had an oil delivery this morning as we were running very low.
We are selling up, so feel we can use our oil as we need it, and we certainly need it today.

I came in cold and damp from having lunch out and we’re now cosy and snug.

It was only 13 degrees in my living room early this morning so heating went on for an hour or so. I do resent having to use it in almost midsummer.

silverlining48 Thu 11-Jun-26 19:12:25

I hadn’t put on the heating til today. However have been wearing 3 layers and a scarf in the house and at night watching tv I use a blanket over me.
Night time the electric blanket is on and an extra blanket is on the bed. Bed socks are vital.
Is this June, is this summer, it’s utterly miserable.

Mollygo Thu 11-Jun-26 19:06:11

I’m sure I’ve already posted this somewhere, but I can’t find it. It’s cold and wet here. The heating came on yesterday morning and was on again when I got in from walking the dog a while ago.
I’m back to wearing a thermal vest under my jumper.
Lucky people who don’t feel the cold, like the couple I’ve just seen running past the house in vests and running shorts!

Elusivebutterfly Thu 11-Jun-26 18:51:07

I have been wearing winter layers every day but today was the first time I needed to put the heating on as well. It reached 14 degrees here today but, with a strong wind, it felt lower.

Oreo Thu 11-Jun-26 18:41:15

We had a blast of CH for an hour this afternoon and am now curled up on the sofa wrapped in a fleece throw.

TwiceAsNice Thu 11-Jun-26 18:37:36

Our heating came on around 4-30pm in Surrey and it is cold . Rained all day from reasonably light to a downpour so haven’t been able to go out in the garden.

I’m recovering from an operation and am supposed to keep mobile so have been walking around our really big garden (1.6 acres), not today I have paced the downstairs of the house over and over. So boring!

tanith Thu 11-Jun-26 18:36:53

Its 16* here in bedfordshire im still in a t-shirt with a cardy but i wont be putting the heating on I'd be too hot.

Fallingstar Thu 11-Jun-26 18:32:31

Is cold but haven’t put the heating on yet, have put on warmer clothes.
Wouldn’t mind the cooler temps if the rain would just stop so we can get out.
Looking forward to better weather this Saturday but looking at next week there is more rain 🙄

Bellanonna Thu 11-Jun-26 18:32:22

London suburbs. Heating on since about 3pm. Cold, wet and miserable.

AskAlice Thu 11-Jun-26 18:31:21

I'm in Hertfordshire and we have our automatic thermostat set to 19 degrees. The heating came on at 5 o'clock this evening, and thank goodness because I had been feeling cold all afternoon!

JamesandJon33 Thu 11-Jun-26 18:29:35

S W Wales. Cold and wet. Just had a shower and put my winter dressing gown on. Blanket on top of the duvet tonight !

BoggledMind Thu 11-Jun-26 18:27:17

Here in our part of the north west of England it's currently 16°C according to the Met Office and has been raining today, although dry at the moment.

Our heating is off and will stay off as we would be far too warm with it on.

Knitter43 Thu 11-Jun-26 18:24:40

Yes the heating is on here in Lancashire and came on about 5 pm. I have it set to come on if the temp drops below 19. It felt really cold until then and has never stopped raining here all day.

GreyKnitter Thu 11-Jun-26 18:20:25

We’ve not put the heating on but I’ve been sitting under my heated throw all afternoon. Horrible weather for June.
