It feels odd to have a kitchen without our founder.

We shall carry on as she would have wished.

Supporting each other and sharing our ups and downs šŸ˜˜šŸ„‚šŸ«–ā˜•ļøšŸ°

Lovely toes FGT2 šŸ‘

I need to get a wriggle on, we have a very busy day, lots of catching up with one of our Aussie contingent. Our three youngest AC are also hoping to come and see her at varying times.

If you have this glorious weather, I hope you enjoy it šŸŒž

These lovely kitties tug at our heartstrings and leave a big, sad hole when they are gone Llamas . ā™„ļø

I seem to have lost two posts this evening! How careless of me! I’m definitely feeling better today thank you teabagwoman.
Had a meet up with some friends at the local RHS garden, which was very warm but with a nice breeze. I hadn’t seen them for a while, so nice to catch up with their lives.
mawrosie I hope you enjoy your holiday in Northumberland and the air conditioned coach ride!

fgt lovely for you to have L’il Miss with you tonight. Could this be the beginning of a new tradition?

Thinking of those in the quiet corner and hoping that we all have a good night’s sleep.

Jaxjacky Fri 19-Jun-26 21:13:31

Beautiful markings Tilly
I’ve retreated upstairs with my iPad, no wishes t9 see the USA play football.
Village butcher this morning to stock up on bbq meat, not cheap, but the best. We were due to go to my daughter’s on Sunday for a Father’s Day one but grandson has D&V, bbq is orf.
Tesco delivered, but none of my choice of ice lollies, fridge full, it’ll be easy meals next week.
Pub was busy tonight, people outside in the sun, we sat in, but I wandered about chatting.
I hope the travellers are faring well and you all enjoy the rest of the evening.

Llamas99 Fri 19-Jun-26 21:01:54

Llamas99 Fri 19-Jun-26 21:00:05

What a beautiful kitty! She looks very regal!

TillyTrotter Fri 19-Jun-26 20:43:59

He was a sweet rescue kitten, abandoned to the Cat’s Trust (luckily for us as he is a darling). Now 2 years old.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Fri 19-Jun-26 20:40:04

Precious moments indeed fgt.
Wishing happy times to all travelling (Maw , GrannySomerset, brook)
Hi Jaxjacky šŸ‘‹
and everyone in dear soop’s kitchen.
A balmy few days ahead and I will enjoy them as best I can given the heat doesn’t suit me.
Our cats have cool mats, and we have an electric fan by each of our chairs.
We are all wimps once the temp rises above 25 days!
It is different on holiday there is always pool to cool down in.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Fri 19-Jun-26 19:48:14

Evening All’

I have L’il Miss beside me snuggled up after her bubble bath at mine. We shared a chippy tea then fresh fruit (mindful of healthy choices grandma!). These are precious times.

teabagwoman Fri 19-Jun-26 07:17:28

Redcar I hope you have a better day today.

JaxJacky I’m envious of your time in the New Forest. I had an aunt who lived there and I have many happy memories.

I plan to take things easy today. Yesterday I did a huge clear out of my study. I have a lot of crafting stuff but have had to accept that I will never use it now. Some I’m giving to friends, the rest is packed up for the charity shop. I felt better for having dealt with it and celebrated with a bacon roll at our little local cafe. They do a brilliant one with nice crispy bacon.

MawsRosie Fri 19-Jun-26 05:42:23

I am not usually one of the ā€œsilly o’clockā€ gang but it’s a sunny, still and perfect morning and I am awake.
However I’m happy that I shall be heading North in an air- conditioned coach in a few hours time!
Rosie trotted off happily enough with one of the kennel maids yesterday afternoon but the house seemed very quiet without her. Stayed tidier though.
Spoiler alert -look away now FGT - I watched the last episode of Clarkson’s Farm last night and could have wept for them. Right, cuppa time, up and then up and at ā€˜em!!

harrigran Fri 19-Jun-26 04:15:54

Enjoy your time in Northumberland Maw. If you do a boat trip to the Farne islands you are likely to see the Orcas, they put on displays for the tourist boats.
Bowes museum is well worth a visit and Durham is wonderful especially the cathedral. My GD is at school in Durham and they have the Carol service in the cathedral.

Charleygirl5 Fri 19-Jun-26 00:55:47

I am pleased to hear you are returning to Malaga so soon. At least it will not feel quite so strange, but the flat will appear to be empty for a long time. Unfortunately there is no way around that.

You are fortunate to have good friends there who understand the circumstances. I hope the weather will be decent. It should be but who knows?

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Thu 18-Jun-26 21:19:13

ā€˜Evening All’

I enjoyed having my nails done (mani/pedi) this afternoon. Much needed as my nails grow long so quickly. Now snipped short again - just how I like them, gelled with chrome dust on top to give that metallic shine. I’m holiday ready for 10 days’ time!

I think the tree pollen count must’ve been high today as I had a scratchy throat and my ear canals were itchy.

I’ve joined Amazon Prime Video free trial for 28 days so that I can watch all 5 series of ā€˜Clarkson’s Farm’. I looked on YT how to immediately cancel my subscription so I don’t forget & start paying Ā£8.99 by default. I even got confirmation by email ā€˜sorry to see you go’.

However the free trial still stands! Excellent. I shall tune in to enjoy this series in its entirety once in I’m MĆ”laga it will help pass many an evening along when I’m out there on my own for two weeks.

A warm humid day here with a light shower at about 5 o’clock. Not enough to even wet the ground, I’ll have to water the garden tomorrow. I’ve had a headache and achy back all day, a side effect of yesterday’s infusion, so haven’t done much today and can’t be bothered to get the hose out.

corner I’m pleased that ratty has gone and that you have your car back. I fully understand your reluctance to trust it, it will take it a while to earn your trust again.
Have a pleasant evening everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 18-Jun-26 19:41:37

Waiting to serve dinner, the 11yr old is in the shower.
I now have an empty ironing cupboard and a clean house (cleaning fairies day)
I need to sort out some admin and finish clearing the last wardrobe.
Night night šŸ™‹ā€ā™€ļø

Jaxjacky Thu 18-Jun-26 19:37:57

Hi Tilly šŸ‘‹šŸ‘‹
Very pleasant weather today, sun and cloud, about 22, im not looking forward to 30 odd starting on Sunday.
Lovely long call from our friends in the New Forest, they’re preparing for the usual influx of visors and associated traffic.
Washing dried and put away, no unnecessary ironing in this house a careful fold does a lot!
brook will be on her way to fjord country now, bon voyage.
I hope those in the quiet corner have had a decent day.

TillyTrotter Thu 18-Jun-26 19:18:49

Good Evening All.
If you go shopping on a rainy day Charleygirl you may have the shoe shops almost to yourself.
I have enough shoes and clothes and don’t need shopping trips. A good job because our City has only Vape and Coffee shops these days.
It is warm and balmy this evening - a joy to sit and read outside.
I hope you all had as good a day as you could
Summer is around the corner.

Charleygirl5 Thu 18-Jun-26 10:22:22

Corner pleased to read that your car will soon be home and the rats have gone. I wonder if your long term visitor would have helped?

I loved watching the football last night. I only watch the home countries. Not being a fan I thought it was to be played at Wembley and not Dallas. It was very noisy, and some people paid £`1000 for a ticket. I hope their wives agreed!

I need to go to town to look for shoes but today will supposedly be a heatwave and tomorrow heavy rain. Decisions.

I live in London and my stupid neighbours frequently go away for a few days leaving the kitchen and a bedroom window open at the rear. It is only a matter of time and insurance will not want to know.
