Bellasnana

Good morning from Malta where a sunny day is forecast with a high of 36°C.😎

My hairdresser was very busy yesterday fitting us all in before she had to go back to the hospital to visit her daughter.

The operation went well, the surgeon is the same one who operated on Princess Eugenie, and he has brought his entire team over with him, including nursing staff. My hairdresser can’t praise them enough and feels her little girl is in safe hands. She still has another surgery to go through next week.

In the meantime, my hairdresser has her own appointment with a surgeon on Monday to discuss the next step for her colon cancer treatment. I admire her so much, she’s not at all self-pitying, just her usual sweet self.

I’ve got my treasures this morning as DD3 has things to do and I’m only too happy to have their company.

Last night as I was on my way to bed, the second cockroach of the year was sauntering into the living room. I took off my shoe to hit it but he was quicker than me and took refuge under the sofa. I had to spray the area but couldn’t see it. I found the corpse this morning and will have to get pest control to come and spray as I can’t bear the wretched things.😰

Loved the dog photo yesterday Marzipan, also your ‘Foxy whiskered gentleman’ merlotgran. He looks right at home !

For some reason I’m having to log in to GN every time on my phone when I never used to. I don’t know what I’ve done but it’s so annoying.

Anyway, wishing you all a good day whatever you are up to. Safe travels to FGT and any of you who are on the move.🤗

I know that surgeon very well. I worked for him for nearly 30 years. So talented and such a nice caring man. Your friends daughter couldn't be in better hands. I'm sure all will go well for her.

Welcome to you, Kiwiqueen! Flaming June indeed! If you find it, send it up here😊!

Good morning everyone from cloudy Anglesey.
The family contact session and the trip here all went smoothly. Our daughter arrived from Birmingham later in the evening.

We need somewhere with the option to be indoors today so we're meeting our Anglesey friend at the Anglesey Sea Zoo. It's years since we last went with our children so it will be interesting to see how it's been developed because I remember it as being very basic 20 years ago.

Lovely to hear about all the activities with everyone's grandchildren. Isn't it lovely to be able to share in their experiences? 💖

Have the best day you can. Take care. 🌻

Good morning all from a very wet and chilly North Leicestershire.

The rain is very welcome as our gardener came yesterday and moved stuff and planted new stuff. Saves us watering.

Not a lot happening today here so we will possibly do some iplayer catching up.

Good morning from West Sussex by the sea. It is raining and strong winds and showers are forecast for the day. I’m so glad DH and I spent several hours yesterday at the allotment. The sun shone, the birds sang and the bees buzzed - it was perfect. We have lots of weeds 🤣. Having been away for nearly three weeks it was inevitable the weeds would grow but I can’t say we are ever weed free. I like weeding, preferable on my knees, so what would I do if there were none?!

We had some lovely photos from DD2 of the community awards ceremony she and Son-in law attended with DGS who had been nominated for donating stem cells through the Anthony Nolan Trust (while also doing his final school exams). He won the award in his category so we are all glowing with pride! I followed the ceremony online and all the nominees were inspiring. All age groups were represented but it’s especially heartening to see so many young people.

Haircut this morning and then whatever takes my fancy! I may bake a cake or tea loaf and some biscuits as DH does love something sweet with his tea/coffee (so do I and I much prefer to be eating a mix of butter, sugar, eggs and flour rather than the supermarket varieties with their long lists of additives). Everything in moderation 😉

Hope everyone has a good day as far as possible.

Here I am with a coffee at Málaga airport
My friend brought me we left at 10 am there was no queue at security and no setting out liquids or electricals in the trays.

This is why I like Manchester to Malaga it’s so easy and straightforward for me!

Good morning everyone from a cloudy wet Northampton where we have.just had a heavy downpour. Shall not be venturing out today.

A lovely sunny 🌞 day yesterday. My friend called for me late morning and together with our very elderly friend (92) visited the garden centre for coffee and cake.
All went well until on leaving elderly friend had a funny turn and collapsed into the floor. Better safe than sorry I called 999, but they didn't deem it serious enough to come out! We were advised to take.her to the surgery instead... whose first reaction was "we don't have any appointments!"

A wheelchair was brought by first aid staff and we got her to the car and thence to the surgery where a long wait ensued before seeing a doctor. She had a thorough check up where.her blood pressure was very low and the GP took her off her blood thinners. No hospital visit deemed necessary and we got her home and she steadily improved.

The poor lady has not long ago lost her only son, and the funeral is on Monday, so I suspect this may have a lot to do with it. She will be visited today and kept an eye on.

I got home and then DD-out-law visited for a chat - she very kindly emptied and refilled the cats' litter.tray for me as I am not allowed to lift anything - I did the unpleasant job of disinfecting and cleaning!

No plans for today except for the Saturday newspaper and puzzle pages. This afternoon I shall watch my rugby team's away match on tv - they are playing in South London.

A steak awaits for my dinner tonight.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Good morning all from a showery Glasgow, it is 12°C.

It is lovely to read of all your doings. Llft, we used to do the things in Malta, you have described. It has brought back so many happy memories.

Baubles, I hope you can find a solution.♥️

Yesterday wasn't a great day. I felt awful, due to my missing patch, my body being out of kilter and waiting for the replacement patch to kick in.
After, I had been to Mass, I had to lie down for most of the afternoon.
A parishioner noticed, how I was struggling at Mass and tried to help me put on with my jacket. It was inside out! 🤣
I woke up during last night, shouting out with pain and waking up DH. Oh dear.😔
Today, The pain from my hip to my toes is unbearable, I won't be doing much at all.

What a palaver I had, trying to report the faulty traffic lights yesterday.
To do it online, you have to log on to My Gov,scot, then you are redirected to the LA website. How many people give up?
I did however, get an email in the afternoon, saying an engineer had gone out to check them.
They are notorious for breaking down and people become reckless, trying to get under the narrow bridge.

A strange thing happened yesterday. As requested by the P.P, I went to Mass, where all went well. The visiting Monsignor despite being anxious, was absolutely lovely with the children.
I already knew him, which made things much easier.
The children from my own school were walking down, but there was no sign of them.
I went out to look and spotted my long lost, disappearing, estranged ( her choice), difficult sister in law, helping to escort the pupils.😱
She has absolutely no connection with my former school, I cannot fathom it out at all. She fell out with the HT of Dollie's school, (a former colleague of hers), so can't offer her services there.
Since since falling out with her Parish Priest, she is at a loose end and has started appearing at our church. She is well known for becoming involved in parishes, then falling out with everyone.
Once in church, she left the children and sat beside me!! I am afraid, I am becoming her new best friend. I am worried.😉

I stopped at Sainsbury's on the way home, who did I spot in the car park, but my SIL!
I went over to talk to her, but she had spotted someone she knew, turned away from me and started walking towards the lady, ignoring me completely!!!
She is really hard work.

I have shot myself in the foot.
The P.P ( living it up in Rome) speaks fluent Italian, so I cleverly sent him an update in Italian. He now thinks I am fluent. I can speak Italian, but I am not fluent, unless I am shopping! 😉
I will have to own up, that I used Google,.🤣

A very quiet day for me. I love my children, but I cannot be bothered with visitors today.

Best wishes to all in the sick bay and those worrying about families.
Have a good day, folks.

I've only just found you all this morning. May I join please? We'e in Hertfordshire where it's wet and cold. What on earth happened to "flaming June". We're off to meet our grandson later for lunch. He's home from Uni and is girlfriend is staying for a few days. He's 19 soon and only seems like yesterday when he was a toddler. DH has mobility issues and he reluctantly has agreed to a rollator which we bought in the week. He's so stubborn but I'm trying to persuade him to walk around DD's village shops before lunch. I'm sure it will make a great difference to him if he'll give it a chance. Have a good one everyone.

Grammaretto Sat 06-Jun-26 08:25:09

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's light if nothing else. It was still light at 10.30 when my dinner guests left.

I showed a family over my house and garden yesterday which took over an hour.
I'll have to speed up. 2 more viewings this afternoon. I wonder should I put the heating on!

They liked the house and I liked them but I think the rain forest of a garden frightened them a bit.

Tonight I'm going to the party for the volunteers. It used to be held in my garden but luckily, because of the weather, it will be held in the store after hours.

I'm glad your first trip back to Málaga was so successful FGT.

Fascinating patchwork R&L

Marydollflowers and hugs.

Hoping everyone can find some joy today.

Greyduster Sat 06-Jun-26 08:23:15

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a wet South Yorkshire. I was supposed to be going to the Botanical Gardens with DD today but the rain is in for the day so there will be no joy in it. We won’t get the chance now before she goes on holiday next week.

I had my first t’ai chi session yesterday. It was interesting but I’m not sure how I’m going to fit the sessions in with everything else I’m committed to at the moment. We’ll see.

Nothing much planned for today. The rain has put paid to me applying the treatment I had ordered for my box hedge which arrived late yesterday. The caterpillars will have another day of happy munching☹️!

Have the best day you can, folks.

Jaxjacky Sat 06-Jun-26 08:19:33

Morning from a rainy, cool S Hants. Yesterday was housework, grocery delivery and pub catch up. The pub was quite busy, it was good to catch up with people’s news.
Our granddaughter called, her university offer has now been changed to unconditional 🙂.
Today we’ll be hunkering down.
Safe journey FGT enjoy your larder visit on return.
Have a pleasant day all.

GrannyIvy Sat 06-Jun-26 08:17:30

Good morning from a wet chilly Wiltshire. We are about to trot over for breakfast before departing on the journey home. Our friends Golden wedding lunch party yesterday was lovely and a few of us met in the local pub in the evening which was an excellent end to the day.

I can just see the rain stopping and the sun shining through so must get moving.

Wishing everyone a good weekend 🌷

Your son doing the wedding photos for Princess Anne’s son Peter Phillips and his bride to be Heather Sperling today by any chance Marzipan?

I'll ask him FGT but probably not! 😂

WhiteSwan63 Sat 06-Jun-26 08:06:56

Good morning from the east coast and it’s raining. The garden will appreciate it though we are still watering the pots.

This morning we are popping in to DSs house to take the planters we did for his partner. We bought two green painted terracotta pots and one is planted with beautiful pink geraniums and the other with Pinks that smell divine. I’m sure she will love them. We will put a couple of banners up and we’ve got a balloon too. It will be a nice surprise when they arrive home tomorrow. DGSs mother agreed to have him for two nights so DS could take her away and have quality time together. She is a real gift to our family. She adores our DGS too which I’m so grateful for.

We are picking mum up at 12 o’clock and going to visit my uncle. He loves to see my DH to chat about football.
It’s our best friend’s wedding anniversary today so we are going over at tea time to enjoy an Indian meal and drinks. Our other best friends is coming too and staying over at ours. It’s seven weeks on Tuesday since she lost her DH and she’s doing well with lots of support. She said with the four of us she feels she’s wrapped up in a big comfort blanket of love. ❤️

Bellasnana your hairdresser sounds wonderful with so much going on in her life I just can’t imagine the stress she’s going through.

Safe travels to everyone on the move today and enjoy all those wonderful activities with DGC. There’s alot to be proud of on here today.🌼

hollysteers Sat 06-Jun-26 08:05:40

Good morning from a damp northwest coast.
The usual art group yesterday with a couple of absences. I then changed a top and came home to finish off my packing etc for today’s journey south.

I go to my DD’s in Berkshire, joined by my sister from London and we drive to Cornwall on Sunday. It would be nice if the weather improves, but whatever happens, it will be nice to all be together.

I’m sorry your hairdresser is going through the mill Bellasnana and I wish you a good journey home FGT🌺

harrigran Sat 06-Jun-26 08:00:23

Good morning from a grey NE where the forecast is for rain all day.
Yesterday I did nothing really but walked round the garden, lovely to see the red geraniums flowering and the lavender about to.
DS will visit this afternoon but not GD as she still is busy with GCSEs.
Have a good weekend.

grandMattie Sat 06-Jun-26 07:55:41

R&L, I only do boring patchwork. I loathe quilting by hand and my machine is too small for quilting…. Sorry! 😞

GrannyGravy13 Sat 06-Jun-26 07:54:30

Good morning from a grey S E Essex.

Local shops to visit this morning, then I may attempt the ironing pile.

Yesterday was different from my plans, one `GC needed picking up from school with an injured ankle, two needed picking up (different school) as mum wasn’t due back in time, and the sibling of the injured had to be picked up as mum wasn’t due in bed with a migraine.

There were two little people on our date night last night 😹

Gingster Sat 06-Jun-26 07:51:54

Good morning from the Suffolk coast where it’s blowing a gale and raining. We don’t mind as it’s still lovely to be here next to the sea.

We travelled up yesterday and had a half hour delay on the roads. DS1 took us, spent a couple of hours making sure everything was ok for us and off he went.

Dh is very wobbly on his legs so we won’t be going far. I’ll walk little pooch on the beach and then do a bit more cleaning and cobweb removing.

We’ll sit in the summerhouse later and watch the sea and read. Listen to music and relax.

Safe journey home Fgt . ✈️.
Sar I’m glad your dh is driving again 👍.

A shame about the weather spoiling summer fares. That’s our climate for you.

Take care and enjoy the day.☔️

ginny Sat 06-Jun-26 07:42:36

Good morning .
We have a local food shop to do today and we’re then hoping to potter and tidy in the garden for an hour or so. Not sure the weather will allow that.
So, I’ll maybe have a bit of a tidy in my craft room instead and then settle to some painting.
Safe travels to those on the move and a good day wished for al.

luluaugust Sat 06-Jun-26 07:41:54

Good morning from a damp W Kent. A quick shopping trip this morning and then the usual quiet afternoon.
Eight people turned up for the deaf group yesterday and a lot of help was given to a lady struggling with the technology, modern aids are amazing
Best wishes to all

baubles Sat 06-Jun-26 07:40:31

Good morning from cool and cloudy South Lanarkshire.

I feel a bit wrung out this morning, my worries about a family situation plagued me through the night.

Last nights netball award ceremony was a busy affair. DGD1 received the coaches’ player of the year trophy and was quite delighted.

It will be a nerve wracking day today as we are going along to watch her team compete in the Scottish Youth Cup final, whatever the outcome I’m so proud of them for getting to this point.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.
