Just seen MaryD’s message. 🌹
I've been out all morning and came on to see if there was news of Marydol.
Just wanted to say I'm thinking of you. Hope you're both being looked after and your husband is receiving appropriate treatment MD.
Sending you a hug, Marydoll. 😘
marydoll
and a hug
Good wishes Marydoll
A rather late Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire.
MrB and I have been to Lytham for some fresh air and sea breeze. The tide is a long way out and the skies were ‘interesting’ but we were lucky and caught some sunshine.
As always, thinking of those with troubles in their lives.
Wishing you a good day whatever you’re doing.
So sorry to hear that Marydoll. I hope you get seen soon.
Good morning from Co Armagh, it’s loud and showers here ,
Been poorly for a few days , realised on Sunday that I had no sense of smell , cold sweats and lack of any ability to keep awake , wondered if I had covid but just fell asleep again , now a bit better but happier to stay close to the errr. facilities. if you get my drift
I hope MD s oh gets help
My poor MD. I hope you are seen reasonably fast. 🤗♥️
I hope your DH is ok marydoll and doesn’t have to wait too long to be treated.
Marydoll I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully the hospital will keep him in and get his BP sorted.
Stilllearning I looked it up (curious me):
“Based on UK inflation data, £1,000 in 1981 would be worth approximately £4,975 to £5,000 today”
Peanuts really for the Lee Jeans company!
Marydoll prayers and hugs
I hope you (and us) receive reassuring news soon Marydoll.
Marydoll
Marydoll 🙏🏻💐
Oh no. Marydoll such worries. I hope 🙏 he's ok and you are too.
Good morning, Michael12 and all!
Mick, did you have a good birthday? I hope you did!
Boss and I were off work yesterday, being a Bank Holiday, so I stayed at home, catching up on reading and watching some more MrBallen YouTubes!
I also watched a YouTube called Satan's Storm, on Tornado Autopsy, about the 15th June 1960 Texas storm that hit a whopping £140F/60C, extreme heat, humidity and winds and lasted about 4 hours in the early hours, but it only hit Coppell, no other area!
I've been here at work since 5 am, so I'm going back to the till after a break!
Later, gators!
Sitting in A&E with DH.
Useless GP didn't phone back, so here we are. BP back at stroke level. 😔
Good morning from sunny Berkshire where I am staying with my DD. Travelled down yesterday from the north with my sister who had stayed with me since last Thursday. She has returned home to London and we had a nice meal together here last night.
I had an early night (for me) and DD and I are going into London soon.
I’m feeling tired after gadding about day after day, but a couple of early nights should help and I do like to have a regular injection of London life,
Thoughts to all and I’m looking forward to hearing from Madeleine
Good morning from South Lanarkshire. Back into winter garb here after briefly putting our heads above the parapet last week! Hey ho, as Billy Connelly said ‘This is the country that we live in!’
My eye is still throbbing a bit after it’s injection yesterday but a paracetamol will take care of that and I’m off later to see DGC in Glasgow so looking forward to that.
I am glad to read that Madelaine is probably on holiday, she is a real force in life whatever the challenges.
Talking about strong women, I went with our theatre group last week to see a play in the Tron Theatre in Glasgow. It told the story of the 1981 lock in when the women workers in the Lee Jeans factory in Greenock fought the American owners when they tried to close it down with the loss of 240 jobs.
It was a wonderful production which brought wave after wave of applause which was as much in recognition of the courage of the actual women as the talent of the actors.
The leader of the workers turned down a £1000 offer to call off the strike. Can you imagine what that would be worth now and what moral courage that must have taken.
Wishing everyone the best day possible x
Good morning everyone from a brightish but cloudy Northampton. Slept in this.morning till just after 8am, after having a funny dream about my yoga friends!
Had a better day indoors yesterday, and managed to finish the swap-over of my winter/summer wardrobes. Re-organised the shelves in the wardrobes - I have waaaay too many clothes.... Also washed some glassware out of the dining room which was looking a bit dusty. Caught up with all the weekend newpapers.
Shall try to get out with my walking group this afternoon which means an early lunch - it will be good to get out and have some company after three days indoors.
Wishing all a pleasant Tuesday.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's sunny so far. I'll catch the bus into Edinburgh soon, meet my friend and walk around the Botanic gardens.
May is the best month in Scotland IMO.
The estate agent photographer was here for over 5 hours yesterday, luckily for him he had been warned that it's big so didn't have any other jobs. He took pictures and videos
of everything I did remember to put the loo seats down 😂
He suggested that I light the fires so I kept them going too.
While he was busy, I went out for takeaway soup for our lunch and tackled the improvised sweet pea bed, by changing the soil and removing the ground ivy Bishops weed as best I could.
He said he wished his family could buy the house - which sounded positive.
Afterwards I drove with a df to see an old friend who was a neighbour but moved to a pretty Borders town and who has recently become a widow. We took her to an Indian restaurant where we had a delicious meal and good chat about our children, DGC and the old days!
We all have DC who live the other side of the world.
I did realise that my tiny new car with its 3 doors is not easy to climb into when you are over 80 or have a bad hip!
Have a lovely day everyone. I'm looking forward to hearing about St Kilda Madeleine
Good morning from a sunny, if somewhat cooler S E Essex 🙋♀️
We have had a quiet Bank Holiday weekend, lots of rest, reading and catching up with TV.
The 11 yr old and myself managed our tech detox (kindle excluded for myself), I did miss my GN daily interactions.
The Imp stayed over last night and was duly delivered to school at 8am, will pick from school this afternoon for his swimming lesson.
I am behind with your news and doings so (((hugs))) to all 🙋♀️
Good morning from a grey but dry NE.
Yesterday was spent sorting through clothes, looking for suitable holiday tops.
Last year I took jumpers and never wore them, we had a week of wall to wall sunshine, dare I assume the same this year ?
DD is working from home today but will join me this evening when we go to GD2'S school concert.
Today GD has her last day at school before exams start, she sent photos of her uniform, shirt and skirt covered in sequin letters and numbers.
When she returns for sixth form she will be wearing suits instead.
Have a good day.
