Hi, the main outage Sunday morning was caused by one of our databases running out of available connections. The two shorter (minute or two) stops later in the day were caused by me deploying fixes for that to ensure it doesn't happen again.

We should be OK now. Apologies for the downtime. We've also set up extra monitoring for this so any repeat should get fixed faster.

What’s happened today on Grandsnet StevenGnTech ? And will we be getting more ?

BlueBelle Sun 26-Apr-26 17:04:58

I couldn’t get on at one point this afternoon looked it up on google and it said it was down again anyway wasn’t long and seems ok now but what’s happening to it !!!

There was a delay this morning, Sunday, at about 7am I think, but it was accessible later.

Grammaretto Sat 25-Apr-26 22:37:36

I went on really early and Mick's Good Morning had a few messages already. When I looked again after an hour or so the same few messages were there.

I tried googling to see if there was a reason and Mumsnet was working so it was weird.
I had withdrawal symptoms. 😔

It didn't come on until the afternoon.

I love Gransnet. It's such a supportive friend.

You can always check if a site is down, this is the one I use

downforeveryoneorjustme.com/gransnet.com

And no I'm not an advert I'm a real gransnetter! grin

I used that and got the response ’no it’s not just you’ which meant I got on with other stuff and totally forgot I hadn’t had my daily GN fix until just now!

M0nica Sat 25-Apr-26 20:28:26

Since everything else was working I just assumed it was a Gransnet problem.

TheSunRisesInTheEast Sat 25-Apr-26 18:48:52

It was disappointing to find Gransnet unavailable this morning. It was like calling on a friend and they're out 🤷.

Isn’t it lovely how most of us like to check in with our virtual friends on the GM thread.

Wyllow3 Sat 25-Apr-26 17:31:50

I just assumed a glitch all along, but that is a useful check, thank you, ferry, copied it .

Missed it..then proceeded to tackle the list of 8 birthdays coming up in the next 5 weeks. 3 cards, 5 presents, nearly all sorted, and unusually good exchange with DiL.

This what I read and probably scaremongering.

Maybe a taste of things to come having read the other day that some internet providers are looking to ration internet access due to their rising costs. If it happens those that are attached to the hip with their mobiles will need counselling grin

The providers won’t be limiting their output.
Not all but some will be charging more per month. Not all of them, though, giffgaff have frozen their prices for a year.
So many people are unaware of how much DATA apps use.
Apps are using DATA continuously even though you might not be using them. Ie, you’re paying for something that you don’t necessarily need.

Hi folks sorry about that. Things should be back to normal now. Apologies for the downtime.

Aveline Sat 25-Apr-26 15:36:03

Oh good. I thought was maybe my phone playing up.

AGAA4 Sat 25-Apr-26 14:34:26

I have been trying all morning and no luck. I was thinking I would have to email Gransnet HQ to see if it was just my phone.

TerriBull Sat 25-Apr-26 14:14:01

Oh good! GN it's back, I thought it was me.

pably15 Sat 25-Apr-26 14:12:13
