People

Going out at night, especially in winter. Listening to people boring on about their latest cruise. Who cares.? You were there, I wasn’t. Also, people talking you through their health issues, problems with their GP/hospital, what tablets they’re taking and how unwell they’ve been. Meanwhile they show zero interest in you. Why are people so self-involved ?

People who invite me somewhere where there will be people they know and like but I don’t.

I agree totally with FGT

Among clothing, all short sleeves/sleeveless/shorts/dresses or skirts shorter than ankle length.

I can be told a million times that I can wear what I like, nobody cares, but I care, and prefer not to exhibit my late 70s flesh to the general public, thanks very much.
Call me vain, I don’t care about that, either.

Cycles on pavements, too much sun in very hot weather and people that suck the life out of you or who are always late (avoid like the plague), hospitals, airports and queue jumpers.

I have to admit to not enjoying the company of a close family member .
She is always so angry with the world and hypercritical of everyone .
I find being with her depressing and when she explodes into rages actually frightening I realise that I've felt like this for nearly 20 years .

Negativity.

Carrying too many library books. I often take one out and return before I leave so that I have it on my borrowed list and can remember to borrow it another time when I do not have as many to carry. I do wonder if it means royalties are paid for longer than the borrowed time though. Maybe a GN librarian will be able to tell me.

Apps and QR codes. Airports . Amos which try to make me do everything on line or print off information which I need for an accountant.

A family member who is resentful of everyone and everything.Goodness knows why.

Jules59 Tue 28-Apr-26 15:23:58

A family member who hoovers the joy out of everything. Can’t be bothered now so rarely speak.
Sad for the loss of shared memories but wonderful joy in my own grand children certainly makes up for it !

Isn't that what we do on here, every day?! 😂

Answering random questions from strangers.

Aveline Tue 28-Apr-26 08:54:03

Oh. I do enjoy gossip. I don't even have to know the people involved!

I avoid thinking about being older apparently I am nearing 70 but still feel the same as I did 30 years ago.
I avoid doctors but thats nothing new.
Not so keen on night driving but thats probably due to the brightness of headlights.

HeavenLeigh, I agree with most of your points, but electric scooters, do you mean e-scooters or mobility scooters? If it's the former, then I agree with you, but mobility scooters have given disabled people or those who can no longer drive cars, their independence, we may all benefit from those in the future.

I’m avoiding the news as much as possible. Currently watching some old David Attenborough documentaries on iplayer and feel so much calmer than usual. My partner used to have Sky News on all day but the news just gets worse and worse. Also going to stop following so many people horses and dogs on instagram as in the past couple of months bad things have happened to two of them and I find myself heartbroken.

1) The Doctors 2) Negative People. 3) Electric Scooters 4) Drama of any Kind. 5) Crowds 6) Gossips

Oh yes. I had to drive on a motorway last week and it was awful. My poor wee car with it's tiny engine was going as fast as it could but I was being overtaken by huge lorries. I was so happy to get home.

Looking forward to watching a drama on tv and switching off because
1. I can barely see the characters as too dark.
2. I can barely hear the dialogue as it’s way too muffled or mumbled even when the volume is turned up high!
3. The language is offensive.

Is this the 4th Thread from this Poster?
Check out the concerns on the other Threads. Are you being 'harvested'?

Good point.

What does harvested mean?

Exercise. Which is really bad.

I have never been a sporty person. Never had the energy or natural ability.
And I can still cope with grandchildren running about, in controlled conditions.

I do need to get to grips with things though.
Before something breaks/snaps.
But all the ducks need to be in a row.

This was to be the year.
But too many big drama life and death events have happened up to noe.

LaCrepescule Mon 27-Apr-26 14:28:55

People who drain my energy. I love my friends but am far more selective these days and have shed a few.
And anyone who doesn’t like pigeons - there is something very wrong with them.
