The ‘royal events’ are hardly a daily occurrence.
Indeed, as far as the children are concerned.
I believe the last time say Charlotte was seen was at the Easter service, and before that maybe at the Christmas Carol Service?

They were recently holidaying on Tresco, enjoying peace, privacy, and quality family time while flying under the radar.

No problem at all with “working” royals, but many other royals have grace and favour accommodation, I don’t think this is right.

I also think that provided the press are controlled, a few photos of the royal children isn’t really an issue, they lead charmed lives and will have their free curtailed as they reach adulthood.

The press and media hounded Diana and her children to the point that it became harassment.

Turning out for royal events when they should be climbing trees

I think the royal children have plenty of time for tree climbing, fishing, swimming, dancing, taking part in sports, …in other words doing what most children with loving parents and families encourage them to.

The Royal family is the thread than runs through the country all though the years. The late Queen was an invaluable asset to the country and respected throughout the world. A slimmed down monarchy should continue to be such an asset.
I have no time for small minded jealousy by people who clearly can't see beyond their own priorities.

They certainly raise the international visibility quotient of this country, bring in tourists and sell an enormous amount of media and merchandise.

I think the country gets more value from the Royal Family than it does from, say,

- obscenely overpaid footballers
- reality "stars"
- multi-national corporations which circumnavigate their tax obligations
- "influencers"
- Ant & Dec ...

My oldest son thinks that they should sell a vast proportion of their properties, most of the Crown Jewels and give the land back to the people.

Quite how that would work I don’t know, monies from properties and jewels to be split across all county councils to help local communities.

Most of their properties don't belong to them. However, why should those they own privately be sold any more than my home be sold and the money given to whichever people?

Well actually he feels the sam way as I do, anyone who deliberately takes action not to pay their correct taxes is disgraceful, huge deserted or empty properties should be re-used, we both genuinely feel no one needs to be a billionaire, I have no issue with people who accurate wealth, u have no issue with millionaires, but there something about those billionaires which leaves a sour taste in my mouth, and no, it’s certainly not jealously!

Well “whoever” and “whatever” owns the Crown Jewels and all those property and land, they were not simply “given” to them and if they belong to the “nation” surely it’s time the nations benefitted from them.

I’m not against our monarchy per se, but in all honestly other than the King and his direct descendants, despite the “slimming” down appear to have the benefit of a lot of “grace and favours”, whilst some people in the country struggle to pay their bills.

Turning out for royal events when they should be climbing trees. Let them turn out for these and be photographed when they are adults and if they then choose to take on royal responsibilities.

We are stuck woth the RF for the forseeable. I wish they would spread their vast wealth to others.

I am going to my first Republic Day Rally in Cardiff in May and my daughter and granddaughter said they will come along too. There will be speeches music and I've never visited Cardiff so lots to see too.

Republic have a Rally in London and Edinburgh on the day with a March for the first time along the Mall to Buckingham Palace to ask What did they know about Andrew, apparently Charles knew about Andrew’s carry ons the author historian Andrew Lownie maintains but there's been a cover up.

They do not have their childhood overly disrupted on a daily basis. Admittedly they have to turn out for royal events which are a right pain sometimes, but George actually enjoys going to watch football with his dad, and Charlotte tennis with their parents in their working rôles.

Do you know the families? How is our curiosity satisfied at the expense of their childhood? I have a colleague at a school royal children attend, and you wouldn't know who the children were. There is no media interest allowed, visitors are respectful, and it's daily school business as normal, (with a bit of added security involved).

Their childhood is far less disrupted than that of many other children's. Even when the royal children are exposed by the parents, like in the videos of Catherine's recovery, I think it's fine to show the whole family together showing their support.

If they want it to survive and thrive, it’s no good hiding them away until they are adults, then expect the public to acknowledge their role.

It’s a very privileged life to be born into, with all the ups and downs that entails, but that’s life.

But they are simply children .... I do not think they should have their childhood disrupted by media interest. We do not have the right to demand our curiosity satisfied at the expense of their childhoods.

Fair enough when they are adults and if they then choose to stay with the firm.
